napoli was for the rangers a couple of postseasons ago he seems to have added a new dimension to his postseason game this time around. >> matt, when napoli came into the coach's room after game five, he was shouting, "not about his 460-foot home run but about going 90 feet." on a tapper back to the mound and then 90 feet from third to home on a wild pitch with what proved to be the game's decisive one. ask john farrell and he'll tell you napoli gets the best read of any red sox base runner and napoli has made himself into an elite defensive first baseman. you wouldn't know it from looking at his beard but this is a player who pays great attention to detail, matt, in every aspect of the game. >> ken rosenthal will be a part of the broadcast in about half an hour and joining joe buck and tim mccarver and erin andrews for the game-by-game play. 7 for 17 for ortiz and three career home runs against max

is now starring at shortstop for the tigers while a red sox shortstop continues to struggle. >> steven is struggling. they made a change. middlebrooks is not playing and bogaerts is at third base. he is a true shortstop but i'm playing stephen drew because i got to have my guy at short catch the ball. the reliability of my shortstop is more important. i know he's not hitting like everybody wants the guy to hit but with this offense, i wouldn't worry about it too much. but playing in the playoffs, he's made one error in 42 chances. this season only eight errors and he is playing every day with pedroia. these guys know each other. a difficult double play and they turn it over with no problem. the big thing tonight is fenway park. the monster. shortstop plays a big role. you have to cut the balls off and that comes with experience and understanding. center fielder. there is your shortstop. you got to cut those balls off and watch the red sox go all the way to third base. easy past doubles. you got to be the shortstop to
