freezing. but finally the low clouds broke and the higher clouds came in. the low has chewed up that lower deck. its set the stage for a change. we'll have a mix of sun and clouds today but its deaf fitly disrupted the fog. patchy low clouds today. more sun than clouds. the low is on its way to southern california but the weekend looks better. so mostly sunny. it will if warmer. the breeze almost pick up a little bit. 41. so you lose the cloud cover. temps drop right off. napa 41. 52 san francisco. yesterday was a tough day. 50 in san francisco. we'll go for a high of 61 today. there is our low. it will play into our weather today and part of tomorrow. by sunday it will be long gone. a mix of sun and clouds today. patchy low clouds. more sun today than yesterday.

say that she was drunk. i want to show you evidence of the of the accident that happened last night. you can see the car mowed down this tree after hitting the couple and their dog. police are investigating the accident. the couple that was in their 50s was out walking their dog on chilco street when a car them from behind. officers arrived and found the couple dead and their dog injured. after the car hit the man and woman crossed over the center divide and crashed into a tree. the people in the other car were unharmed. >> when officers arrived they found that vehicle crashed into the tree with a single female in the drivers seat. somebody else in the vehicle. she was complaining of pain. while they had medics responding to their locations officers were able to for smell alcohol. >> reporter: police identified the driver as 54-year-old

marjorie ritz sell of redwood city. the identity of the couple has not been released. i do want to mention that that dog has been taken to the animal shelter for care. reporting live from menlo park janine de la vega ktvu channel 2 news. there were no injuries in a frightening accident that snarled rush hour traffic last night. the cab of a big rig went through a guardrail at interstate 280 near san francisco. for a time the highway patrol shut down 101 in both directions creating a large backup. it took crews an hour to remove the truck. happening today law enforcement agencies from across the country are converging on oakland for urban shields which is a three-day

training exercise. the sheriffs office is warning those visitors occupy oakland protestors are expected to show up at the event. katie utehs is joining us live. katie. >> reporter: claudine, the oakland marriott is where 100 or so vendors will market weapons and equipment specifically to law enforcement that are visiting the area. that is what has occupy oakland protestors fired up. the weapons. and they say that starting at 9:00 they will have picketers here in front of the marriott. now urban shield is one of the largest first responders in the u.s.. 5,000 people are expected to attend the event. you are looking at video from last year's training. where disaster videos will help train swat. oakland police say they have known about the protest for some time and they are ready.

parked car in the sunset district two weeks ago, his blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit. he didn't stop after the accident and they followed a trail of debris to his home. hey monday was not on duty at -- hah monday was not on duty at the time. last night community members held a march, dance performance, and vigil at the field. deputies believe lopez was armed with an ak47 assault rifle but it turned out to be a toy gun. others are skeptical. >> there is no reason why trained professionals, law enforcement officers had any reason to kill a 13-year-old. >> a preliminary autopsy shows

lopez was shot seven times. the deputy that shot andy was devastated. the golden gate bridge already charges some of the highest tolls in the bay area and it could get higher. the board meets at 10:00 this morning to consider raising its tolls to $7. the higher tolls may be necessary to deal with the $142 million deficit over the next five years. >> projects that have been out on the horizon as part of the projection is now here. and we have to do them now. so our deficit has grown. >> the bridge district says its already made internal budget cuts such as replacing toll takers with electronic payments. several union leaders attended the bart board

a woman accused of shooting and killing a woman earlier this week was the woman's own son. the 17-year-old is being held in the juvenile detention center in fairfield. investigators are not releasing his name. they think the boy shot his mother several times. >> that is tragic. a child killing their parent. nothing gets that bad. >> brown was 35 years old. she had a baby believed to be less than a year old. the baby is now with relatives who told police they did not know any of the tension between the mother and son. police are still trying to figure out a motive. update on a story we brought you yesterday on the ktvu channel 2 morning news. a man is recovering from serious injuries after being shot in a road rage incident in fremont. it happened around 5:15 yesterday morning after the

victim pulled off of 680. the shooter may have been angry because the victim was driving too slow. the gunman is described as a latino or portuguese man. 20-30 years old. anyone with information on his identity is asked to contact fremont police. the families of nine women trapped in a limo fire have filed several lawsuits. the lawsuit claims six companies including ford and the owner of the limo are responsible for a vehicle malfunction that sparked that deadly fire. >> the cause of the fire was the drive shaft rotating on an under carriage of the vehicle. i don't know how my client could have forseen that. >> no criminal charges have been filed in the case. the driver of the limo has been cleared of any wrong doing. california's fair political

practices commission ordered its largest fine ever. the $1 million fine was levied against two arizona based groups for failing to disclose the donors of antitax and antiunion campaigns. california has just revealed the newest state license plate it supports organ donation. the widow of chp officer young strum was on hang for event. youngstrum was shot and killed in the line of duty last year. his donated organs helped save the lives of four people. >> we lost something loved deeply but we know something good came out of it. >> as soon as as 7500 plates are reserved production will begin. more than 21,000 people in california are currently awaiting a life saving
