her death. good afternoon, i am brian flores, in for tori campbell. the wind toppled trees. >> in antioch a man and his son were nearly hit by a tree. >> good afternoon, alex. >> this oak tree was uprooted last night and came crashing down in the home here in antioch. a father and his son were in the back bedroom we are showing you right here. branches suddenly burst through the ceiling. >> he is laughing and plowing this morning. but it was a scary night for one and a half-year-old jordan. >> he was just crying. >> jordan and his father were both stunned as a large tree came crashing into their bedroom last night. >> i thought i was dreaming. >> i couldn't believe it

happened. >> reporter: the branch missed jordan but his father suffered scrapes on his back and had to be treated at the hospital. his injuries though were minor and olivo is grateful he got up off the bed at the last second. watch would have happened if you didn't jump out of the way. >> i was sitting right here. and the branch was like coming through here. it is this low. all across the area strong gusts caused a lot of damage overnight. debris lined the road as branches were blown down, you can see how powerful the wind were. this was pulled out of the ground last night. this is the walmart shopping center in pittsburg. things were still blustery this morning. it left a mess in the family's backyard and put quite a scare into a father and son.

no recreational driving for this man. he will be allowed behind the wheel to look for work or transport his children. heed little to say inside or outside a criminal courtroom today. the 58-year-old city gardener is charged with felony vehicular manslaughter and hit and run. he ran over this woman in holly park last month as she sun bathed with her baby and dog. >> he is suspended without pay. they sought limits on his driving privileges. >> we agreed so he could seek and maintain employment. he has kids he has to transport to school and other activities. among other things, he has counseling sessions. >> he is attending counseling sessions as i have adviced him to do. >> makes sense. >> reporter: his 19-year-old son jonathan was involved in a hit and run case involving a

and -- aeves and -- eaves and how much snow has fallen up here? this parked car has been here overnight. this pretty much speaks for itself. that is an a lot of snow. in the words of one person, it was a healthy foot of new snow. we shot this video earlier this morning as we were coming up here. we encountered snowfall below the 5,000-foot elevation level. as we worked our way up, it got significantly keeper -- deeper, if you will. >> three to 4 inches and near the 7,000 elevation level, there was a good foot of snow. there was chain controls in effect earlier this morning. those have been lifted because the snow has lightened and the ground is still warm that it is not accumulating too much on
