driving under the influence. friends tell us he was active in the community in texas and here in the bay area. we are putting that together for 6:00 p.m. eric rasmussen, ktvu channel 2 news. the coast guard and police are investigating the death of a crew member aboard a ship. firefighters removed the body at 3:00 p.m. this afternoon from a crane on top of the ship. there is no word if the death was work related. they have yet to examine the body to determine the cause of death. develops news from hayward, a shooting in the past 90 minutes. there may be as many as 3 victims. at this point there are no reports of any death. news chopper 2 was over the scene afterward as police were looking for evidence. we will keep you updated as more details come in. the clouds are moving in and you can see darker skies there. this storm will bring heavy

days after a mistake sent b.a.r.t. and the union scrambling it is not clear what will happen next. b.a.r.t. wants the union to renegotiate a provision and many worry another strike would be in our future. ktvu's ken pritchett got an answer from the union. >> reporter: both sides did meet today. not to negotiate but to talk about this. this provision in that contract on family medical leave. b.a.r.t. said it wasn't supposed to be part of the deal. the union said it was always part of the deal and they have the signatures to prove it. >> reporter: b.a.r.t. trains are running today because a deal was reached to end a strike and months of ill- will. now the signed deal hits snag. >> after all this we are going to have more negotiations?

firefighters believe an electric car sparked a house fire. it started in the garage and spread to the second floor. a neighborhood tells ktvu it was a kit car that was the cause of the fire. no one was injured and the family was able to escape. the fire caused $100,000 in damage. authorities are looking for a young at risk man who disappeared from a hospital. 19-year-old eric garcia left the hospital on foothill boulevard last monday and he never returned. he is considered to be at risk due to mental health issues. he knows how to take public transportation and likes to
