call silver. >> come on, boy. >> he's really cold. you can tell he's struggling on the ice. >> keep in mind these guys are on the ice as well. they tie a rope to the guy in an orange jumpsuit. he starts getting really, really close to the dog. >> oh, no! >> two of them go in. john in the orange takes a dip themselves. right there, you can barely see it. >> god bless, man. he can barely move. >> silver did have tags on as well with a phone number and name, amanda. amanda super thankful for what these guys did, as you can obviously imagine. we've got the rescue team joining us, john, bobby, dom and craig on long island, new york. how did you make the decision who was going to go close to the water because go of you ended up taking a dip? >> they have a few less pounds than i do.

it was a no-brainer when we sent them out on the tree limb there. andou could see the ice wasn't stable and i jumped in to save him and we managed to come out and save the dog. >> so sweet. >> do you guys feel like heros? >> you know what, i felt good. after the dog was out, i felt great. if i didn't look down there, that dog i don't think would have been here today. >> so tell us what amanda said to you when you called her. >> i think she said she was at home with her child and she was going to seasoned her brother down. they said they were going to have the fire department come down, when the brother showed up, turned out he was a volunteer fireman. >> i want to know what that frigid, frosty water was like when you fell in. >> you don't even think about it. you just think about getting out and saving the dog.

>> and amanda sent us over some pictures and videos of silver so you can tell he's doing much better now thanks to you guys. the catch and release hunting trip. >> two very dramatic examples of being at the wrong place at the wrong time. this first one in lebanon. this pedestrian minding his business, trying to get to where he's going. but the car behind hem loses control, strikes him, sends him flying, crashing into the doors of a pharmacy. here's another angle. you immediately see the driver get out of the car, clearly disoriented and obviously in pain. he almost immediately lays down on the ground. others come to provide aid. wait till you see the other angle. you see the other man laying there. believe it or not, both of them survived. they were taken to the hospital. >> that's shocking that they're both okay from this or they're

both going to make it. wow. >> for sure miraculous. just like this other incident. another woman walking down the street. you see this car coming to the intersection about to cross when a taxi speeding through crashes into the car and immediately impacts and drags this woman with it. you see the passengers of that car we first saw come out and a 70-year-old driver who suffered minor injuries. the woman suffered serious injuries but also survived. she was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay. >> a 15-year veteran of the kansas city police department who has won the department's medal of valor is off the job now permanently because of this video. this is after a suspect has been arrested in a carjacking. that suspect is alfredo point. police say he carjacked somebody in gun point. after they had him in custody,

they say the officer was out of control. he admitted he acted recklessly. before this happened, there was a fight between ponts and the officer. after he was cuffed, that's when he laid into him and he punched him at least six times in the head. >> i'm sure the officer was upset because he was elbowed and chipped his tooth and, yeah, your adrenaline is running but you have to also remember you're on tape. >> there are three other officers around him. i'm sure they understand once somebody's cuffed like that, you can't beat him up. >> it's a shame that he lost his temper. it seems like he had a really bad moment of weakness. people are only human but you can't let yourself get this far when you have a suspect cuffed. >> we can't forget why we're here, to protect and serve the
