9:06 am
>> well, failure to launch is more than just a matthew mcconaughey movie, it is proved in this video here. big open place for this guy to run his hang glider. here he goes, run, run, run, run, abort, abort, abort! he stumbles off the edge of his launchpad. you have to commit if you're going to be a hang glider. >> this poor guy. was this his first attempt or something? >> no real information. it just looks like the guy doesn't commit. i was trying to see if i could notice anything wrong in the slow-mo. i think he just got cold feet. >> most embarrassing part, he's around a whole group of people watching him. >> just don't even come. leave me down here. >> now this video is trending now. looks a little bit older.
9:07 am
but this is a powered power glider moment. he's taking off into the wind, ike you're supposed to do. look at the wide open space he has to work with. somehow this guy manages to smash himself into, one of the few things he could possibly run into. >> i feel bad for laughing but that's hysterical. >> oh, look, he's got acres of green open space. >> it looked like he was just about to get up in the air, too. >> right into that van. >> lots of packages this time of year. you're ly expecting some yourselves. >> now this happened in silver spring, maryland. this is taken by a resident.

we're fooling breaking news on the bart system. we have a train that is stuck in the oakland hills tunnel. somewhere in this area here it got stuck because of a brake issue in the tunnel. and some people on the train were complaining of smoke inhalation. these are live pictures. we do know there is a rescue train on the way getting in position to get those people out of that tunnel. it is unclear which side they're going to come from, however, the rock ridge station and the arinda station have been shut down. it looks like this train is getting ready to go inside to get the people who were stuck inside that tunnel out.
9:21 am
this is the bart oakland hills tunnel. let's go to bun of our producers and good morning, mischa. what have you been hearing? first of all, where are you? >> reporter: yeah, i'm at the lay fayette station now. they're making an overhead announcement for us to get off the train and walk to the other platform because they're turning us around. they told us that at about walnut creek there was a train stuck in the berkeley hill tunnel. a maintenance issue, and just said it was going to be five or 10 minutes and then we sat at watt nut creek for a long time and then we sat here for even longer and then they finally said that the train was trapped. they used the word trapped, and that the tunnel was shut down until further notice, and they eventually said we're going to have to turn the train around. we have been probably here for 15 or 20 minutes waiting to find out where my train is going or if another train is coming, and it looks like they're finally sending one down the pittsburgh line.
9:22 am
they were also making announcements in the station that i could hear with the doors open telling people they were having problems with the trains and people need to find alternate forms of transit which is kind of humorous as we're all sitting on the train waiting to go. but right now everyone is just getting out. >> okay, mischa. thank you very much for that ininfo. we have been showing you live pictures, and i think we lost the chopper signal so if you can put up the map again if we can't get the chopper back. i just want to explain to people what happened here a train that was traveling to the rock ledge station became disabled inside the oakland hills tunnel, and one of the wheels locked up, according to reports. smoke from that issue started -- it started getting inside the passenger compartment of the train. several people called saying they had smoke inhalation problems. other people are on the train. they have been tweeting me saying everything is fine. question ear calm. this is news chopper 2 outside the station. entree a similar response outside the rock ledge station.
9:23 am
so the fire department is waiting for the train to come back with the people. we're not sure which station it is going go to. stay with ktvu, we have reporters heading to both stations and we'll have more on this issue coming up. at 9:22, we'll continue to follow this breaking news and get you the latest information as we can. he gets back up and finishes. >> i'm the l.a. beast. >> don't challenge the beast. >> you're invited to a wedding like no other. >> this within is tim bu-- this one is tim [son] all right, she has no idea.

they say they hear the dog barking all the time and this time they looked out the window and it's like watching two dogs play. >> do you think the dog realizes that's not just another really big dog and it's a different type of animal? >> probably not or maybe so because dogs will play with anything or anybody. >> this is awesome. they're playing chase, they're playing keep away, they're playing follow the leader. they're doing all kinds of fun games. >> they are playing follow the leader. the bull goes into the woods. don't you love how it kind of bounces? >> i think that's the happy walk, letting the dog know it's friendly. >> this is my nonthreatening prance. >> happy prance, happy prance, happy, happy, happy prance. >> ducklings attack the cat.
