tanu -- titanium. >> the last thing you want to hear when you're on vacation in a resort town is this. that's gun fire you're hearing from the balcony of a hotel from the resort town of rocky port, mexico. at least five people were killed during this violence, violence in the resort town, part of rocky point is rare. we've got the person who shot this video, melissa jacobson. she's still where this went down. first of all, describe what you heard, what you saw and do you feel safe right now? >> well, it started about 5:30 this morning, woke up to -- i didn't know what it was at first but it ended up being gun fire. when i heard the noises, i

opened the balcony door and when i opened the door, i heard a lot of screaming in spanish and a big grenade went off. at that point my family and i went into the master bathroom and huddled in there until around 7:30. >> have you been outside are have you stayed in the condo. >> no, we went outside. there's blood everywhere, glass everywhere, a car shot up. a police officer informed us that basically it was a scene that went wrong. so when they decided to go and bust them, more cartel people or gunmen came and rammed through the gate and that's when it just went all wrong so there was tons of shooting. >> do you own this condo or are you staying here as a guest?

>> i live here permanently. i do feel safe. the only reason i feel safe is it not directed at me. during the gun fire part i wanted to get out of here if possible. it cartel. cartels are against the government or against each other. >> what made you grab your phone or start recording? were you fearful during the time you recorded this video? >> the gun fire had stopped for a little bit so we ventured out slowly and we still saw some police and army gentlemen still in their positions watching so we felt safe sort of watching them and that's when the gunfire started again. so i turned on the record button as i was walking toward our condo. >> firefighters worked diligently to get an apartment fire under control in south los

angeles as firefighters arrive on the scene. you see that it takes several different fire gins to get the fire under control. when the cameras arrive on the scene, you'll noticed the rescues are taking place. the firefighters have a ladder up to the second floor window in this complex and you see them helping a couple out of this wind open as smoke is coming from the top of this apartment complex. thank goodness firefighters did get there in time. >> thank goodness the smoke is more dangerous than the fire. >> according to reports, a man and woman both suffered burns to their hands and to their feet. but guess this, some residents who got out of the fire said the reason this couple ended up suffering burns, they ended up trying to fight the fire with a hose. some residents say they were responsible for helping get other people out of this fire.

according to firefighters they do believe the fire was suspicious in nature but they are still investigating the cause. >> there are several of these drivers that are either not paying attention -- >> or this car acted like it was the only one on the road. >> this has been red before the driver gets to the intersection. >> they slowed down realizing they were going through the light and kept going. >> this one's been red for more than 630 seconds. >> it's one thing if you drove through not realizing but when you realize it's red and continue to go through, that's another thing. >> their minds are elsewhere. >> this big truck almost wipes

into that minivan. 37 seconds into the red light. who cares. i'm going to go any way. >> this one is probably the one that made me the most furious because the driver straight up goes around this blue minivan and makes the right-hand turn. >> you can make a right turn on red but not around another car. >> oh, oh, get out of the way! >> most were near mses but that one nearly d hit the u a story because there it is. >> police want people to know they are enforcing the red light laws. >> they rescue vultures and then release them into the wild. >> what's the first flight look like? they'll show us. >> and dude gets up on the ice

we just had a call to go and collect a grounded bird. >> this is a dynamic duo of carry walter and walter desayer. they're a south african couple working with cape griffins. these are south african

vultures. they rescue birds and help breed these cape griffins and help release them back into the wild. they have to go out and rescue an endangered bird out in the field and they encounter a pretty aggressive elephant while they're doing so. check it out. >> whoa. >> they manage to rescue this bird. that's just one of the many that they work with. check out their sanctuary where they help breed and raise this bird hoping to stabilize the number of this species. >> when you come in there, they're up against the opposite side and then you know it's time for them to go. >> what's in a first flight look like? here you see this gorgeous cape griffin. that's persie. persie's going to show us. pretty remarkable. they've got a camera facing the front, a camera towards the

it was a race where he felt he was at his prime, riding super fast, felt really good about the lines he was taking when he had an accident. a short documentary, here's the footage from that actual crash. that was a tough crash. up see him go over the handle bars and it looks like he struck a tree. tom went into self-check mode, he wiggled his feet, his leg was moving, his left hand was moving. >> when it came to move my right arm, i had no function at all. >> that accident left tom with a paralyzed right arm. but tom had been riding bikes his whole life. it was his passion. after a lengthy rehabilitation process, he thought he wanted to still right and he helped build a brace, it's got a bit of a shock absorber from the forearm
