>> in afghanistan. >> what do you think he wants for christmas? >> anything steelers themed. >> he's referring to colonel stevens, isn't expected to be back home for four months months. >> don't you think he'd want to come home. >> whoa! >> that's sad! >> so it wasn't real santa all along. >> it wasn't. it was dad dressed up as santa coming home early. his daughter or his wife didn't know he was coming home. >> he arranged it with the lacy fire department, who hooked him up with a santa suit. >> i bet that flying from afghanistan, knowing he was going to get to see his family and hug them -- >> it's a very good christmas

gift if you ask me. >> yes, it is. >> it that time of the year where people start heading out to do some back country skiing. i have a video to serve as a reminder that it can be quite dangerous and that you have to remember to stay safe. this video was shot back in april right after a big five-day storm blew through the vail, colorado area. he is headed back into the white powdered skiing and it's not a marked slope. >> it deep and it fresh. >> that gets andy into a lot of trouble. >> the feeling of that snow and the sound of it is scary enough. where's andy. >> you would think this is an avalanche, right? >> yeah. >> that's not the case. that's video of andy falling into what is known as a deep tree well, deep, loose snow up against a tree.

this snow wasn't tightly parked and he fell head first buried six feet under. luckily his friend, stuart, was skiing with him. he quickly went into survival mode. stuart begins digging andy out and andy is face down so minutes, seconds matter here. you see how deep this tree well really was. it not just avalanches that are dangerous, especially if you're out back country skiing, if you're on this fresh powder. >> stuart said given the conditions that day, had he not had hisson on his friend, he may have skied right past him and that could have been a life or death situation. >> drive around any neighborhood in time of year and you see the

christmas tree lots. those trees didn't just grow this is christmas tree harvesting in oregon. the pilot, dan clark, of northwest helicopters, whipping his helicopter around like a hot rod. zit like helicopter drifting. >> this video is a couple years old but it trending now for some reason. he picks up a bundle of christmas trees from the farm, swings it it on over to the shuttle truck, and och he goes for another load. he's like whipping it oaf there. doesn't waste any time, he gets there and is already heading back for another bundle. >> down on the ground of this christmas tree farm is a hooker. >> not that kind of hooker. >> a person kbrabing the line and hooking up the next bundle. this is at noble mountain tree farm in salem. oregon is one of the top

producers of christmas frees in the world. each year they put out about 7.3 million trees. now this video over a million halts. but we contacted noble tree farm. it's a process they go through every year and it's incredible to watch. >> this has got to the the worst text to receive this holiday season. a big van from merwin engineering, backing in to a job. i want you to pay attention to over here, that other blue vehicle gets up, starts walking up to the van. >> no. >> walks right up to the window. notices that the keys are in the ignition, hops in there and then flies out of there, the blue vehicle stole right behind. >> the guy who was driving the fan -- it's almost like they

could be watching this guy. >> here's the worst part. there was a mobile phone inside the fan belonging to the managing director, tony anderton. the thief took tony's phones and started sending a text. one text he sent, "merry christmas, i just nicked your van." almost taunting the guy that he just says was worth about 48,000 in u.s. dollars and had 16,000 u.s. dollars and gear in equipment in this sort of thing. april ordering to tony, he said the insurance company is not going to -- he's only had it for a few month. >> this is terrible. >> he's known for his eating challenges. and his latest -- pine cones. >> why this holiday treat is far

>> ornaments? >> in this case, pine cones. >> on your mark, get set -- >> that's our friend. he said he got lots of requests from people because it's the holiday season to eat pine cones. he wanted to see how many he could eat. he said this is like the most dense, toughest item on the planet. this is the worst struggle i've ever seen. he really, really struggles with this one. >> can you watch him. he just chews and chews and chews and -- can you imagine having that in your moe ut mouth or comingnd he has tnd tries and tries and tries to get things down.

>> i don't want meet to suggest things to him anymore. >>s willen to what he says when he gets the last bit down. >> i'm going to go crawl into the corner. cameras, cameras everywhere. because of that we have new knowledge about how santa delivers his package. he can't go roof to roof. he's kind of like the mailman. he parks the sled in the neighborhood and goes house to house on foot. here's santa leaving presents behind on a christmas free. here he is going to the next house. check it out. boom. off the window santa goes and starts going through the neighborhood. >> who knew santa is a par core artist. >> he got the skills.

>> jumping from roof to roof is working well here because the roofs are covered in snow. magic! >> that's hough he's able to deliver the gifts all in one night. >> it's a skinnier santa than you're used to seeing. >> it's because he's learned to par core. >> ronnie and his crew did a whole behind-the-scenes video as well. they had crash pads so ronnie could not get hurt while he pulled this stunt. this has been skipping like a stone.

>> so there's like an entire generation of adult men out there who grew up loving ninja turtles. i was one of them. however, a guy got his brother this gift for christmas. >> oh, my god! >> you see him open the gift and it's an old school michael angelo pillow. the brother found it on red it. >> that might be the greatest gift i've ever gotten. >> everyone starts to chuckle. >> is that -- oh, my god. >> i'm going to cry. >> what's so special about this thing? is it his old pillow? >> the thing is, he had this

thing from age 4 to age 24 and he threw it away like five years ago because it had been so beaten up and deteriorated. he basically said he regretted throwing it away ever since. a childhood relic. obviously it meant a lot to this guy. >> aw, that was really thoughtful. >> i imagine him going to bed tonight with that pillow -- >> and going to bed and saying cowabunga dude. >> stewart edge is bringing snow to the desert in his latest kissing prank. >> i kind of wish it was snowing because you're a really pretty girl. >> oh! oh, my god. >> but see how another familiar face gets in on the action. and with the rush of the holidays, we taking a minute to slow things down. >> see what makes this a smashing good time.
