8:00 when she was taken away in and video provided to us here, by her family, you can see a caravan of cars and it's unclear where that caravan was headed last night. you will remember, she suffered cardiac arrest from sons sill surgery that was -- surgery back on december 9th and because she was declared brain dead, she was released to the custody of the coroner's office and the coroner in turn gave her to her family. they talked about the next step in this complex transfer process and before she could be takingen to a long-term care facility, she needs to have permanent feeding tubes inserted. >> jahi mcmath needs to be transferred as soon as possible and it is a much more difficult time than it would have been had children found it in its

hard to give her a feeding tube and breathing tube. >> they could not get the name of the facility but it is called new beginnings and they said she has been in discussions with the girl's family about moving her there. new beginnings helps people recover from brain injuries. >> all of us at new beginnings have somebody who was in the same experience. all of us here have had a recovery. up see it every day, we believe in hope, healing and understanding. >> in a statement, children's hospital said quote, our hearts go out as they grieve for this sad situation and we wish them closure and peace. it is unclear how they will make that cross country trip to

the new facility but she should be set for transport within the next few hours and we have an update from the family's attorney, alex savage, ktvu channel 2 morning news. this heartbreaking case began when jahi mcmath went in for surgery. she suffered serious complications which led to a heart attack and on december 12 december 12th they declared her brain dead and they issued a restraining order to keep her from being taken over the ventilator and that gave them time to move her. last night she was quietly removed and released to her mother. for more details on this story, you can log on to this website we have a special section for the jahi mcmath story and we will provide live updates as we get more information about
