hi, everybody, and it's time for the best videos of the day "right this minute." ♪ a trooper pulls behind a car when he realizes the driver is brandishing a handgun. how it went from traffic stop to high-speed spin-outs and a shootout. rescuers try to free cows from a frozen pond. look at that one over on the end. it's, like, hey, you cut me a hole, let me try to get out of here. how some gutsy firefighters went above and beyond the call of

duty. die hard fans hated to see dexter go. hear from two of the show's cars about a new place to tune in that will put fans in dexter heaven. plus a go pro gets a ride on one lucky hula hoop. and it's the latest internet trend. >> it's called smattering. >> why a marshmallow in mouth is worth two in the bush. >> yay! new details in video emerging from an incident that went down back in august 2013. this is involving oregon state police and you see them now from a dash cam pulling over 34-year-old william hall, it was a routine traffic stop apparently because of some erratic speeding on highway 20. eventually you now see them giving a field sobriety test. technically he apparently passed the test, but he was kind of wavering during the eye test where they have to follow the light on a pen. as the officers says --

>> give me a couple seconds, i'll be right back with you. >> watch hall. the two troopers start to talk to one another. hall starts to make his way back to hils car right here. he gets back to his car and locks himself in his car and watch how this officer reacts. he drys opening the driver's side door and quickly jumps back and grabs for his weapon. why? because hall was inside his own car brandishing a handgun and he takes off and leads them on a wild chase, commercial area, a highway, all kinds of other cars around, hall swerving in and out of traffic. and eventually they make their way to a dirt road where officers follow hall. you do see this other white vehicle back here which is just some other innocent bystander almost gets caught up in this mess. here pit maneuver on this guy. you've seen that before. they're able to knock his car out of control. spins him around. now at this point you see several other officers at the

scene. after the pit maneuver he was positioning his gun in a way where police say they were believe they were about to be fired on. they gave him several orders to drop the gun. now watch. you hear several shots fired into the vehicle of william hall. but, get this, the coroner said those shots would have been fatal if hall had not shot himself already once in the head. a self-inflicted gunshot wound is what actually killed william hall. apparently he did have a pending warrant and apparently he also vowed to commit suicide before ever going to prison. talk about being at the right place at the right time. this is the moment that firefighters douglas mcpherson in walking up to the scene of a fire. according to reports he happened to be in the area, saw that there was a fire, so decided to go in and help. it seems like he probably had -- including a helmet cam that he

is wearing right now and captures all of the activity surrounding this fire. in this moment when he walks up, some people are around the picnic table, that's because they are trying to drag the table to a nearby garage where two women are stuck. >> they are trying to use the picnic table to climb up and help. >> right. they do find a ladder and they drag it over to where the women are. apparently these two women were inside the home with four children, thankfully the firefighters were there and the women handed the children over to the two officers and they were able to save the children but they ended up getting stuck on the roof of the garage. there's a big cloud of smoke that shoots from outside that window. them is coeladder. >> it didn't look like she had time to put on her shoes, she just had to get out. >> one woman is on her phone at the time. >> put the phone down. >> she was calling the fire department. >> very possibly, yes. she rescues her first.

they rescued the women. you see the firefighter lead the woman to the ambulance to be treated and then immediately turns back around and gets to work. grabs a hose. heads right over to the home and they start fighting the fire. fortunately everybody made it out okay. it took them about an hour and a half to put the fire out. you learned you don't want to be the car in the middle of this intersection because we know something bad is about to happen. it's caught on surveillance camera. i think that car is just trying to make a left turn because you see there's no way for it to make a left. watch what happens. the car coming from behind skims the car but hits a thaks s s a. >> oh, geez. >> only the passenger in the taxi was hurt. that person was taken to the hospital without major injuries. you can see it from another angle there was a car that that speeding car passed. there it goes. it's going really fast. you see what happens, the person hit the taxi and as you can see a lot of people getting out in

order to help out. we go from central asia to the uk and we got this video from juking video. this accident doesn't involve cars. we've got a point of view camera on the head of somebody who is biking through town. watch ahead at that intersection. do you notice what color those lights. >> they are greenish. yellow? >> they are green and yellow. telling the person who is driving or riding the bike, hey, this blinker could turn red fairly soon but it's still green and watch what happens when he gets to the intersection. oh, boy. >> that person came out of nowhere. was not paying attention. >> just tried to run across the road. >> looked both ways to see if a car or a bike was coming but -- >> we've all been that guy where you're really late for something and you're just not thinking, so honest mistake but it's definitely his fault. >> he does offer a hand and ask the guy, are you okay? >> are you all right? >> all he had to do is wait an extra second, stop, wait, let the bike go. but now he's more late to wherever he was going in such a hurry. the frigid conditions that

this country has been experiencing over the last week has put many people in jeopardy as well as animals. we go to a frozen pond in missouri. here you see half a dozen cows stuck in a frozen pond. the fire department has been called out. this man here in the yellow suit with a chain saw trying to carve a trench into the ice to the shore of this pond. this rescue went on for hours. at least two cows have been pulled out of the water. four others are still in the water. even those ones that are out, you can see they're in bad shape. they are. at this point the cows are very, very cold. the ones that have been pulled out you can see they can't even really stand up they're so cold. you can also see rescuers trying to rub down their skin, trying to warm them up best you can. here rescuers are trying to use fire hoses and other lashing to tie the cows up and pull them through the trench that they've dug and bring them to safety.

firefighters used emergency blankets and hay to do their best to try and warm these animals up so they could pull through. veterinarians from a nearby university also came to assess the situation and assess these animals. they were able to get three of the six cattle out of the frozen pond. of those three, though, one did die later on of hypothermia, so only two made it out. when wing suit stunts get boring, time to one up them with even crazier stunts. see how this guy falls head over heels for base jumping. and it's the latest internet trick shot trend. >> it's called smattering. >> will this fluffy fad catch on?

well, guys, wing suit pilots and base jumpers are getting bored which is good for l of us t do even crazier stunts like this guy in a city in russia. ratmir gets a full head of steam and launches himself off of this thing but does one and two complete summersaults before pulling his chute and landing safely on the ground. >> okay. he's a little excited. >> ahh! yeah! >> not just base jumpers it's

wing suit pilots as well who are outdoing themselves, this is one of the most popular wing suit pilots we've seen on the internet. this is an incredible jump here just because it's a short exit. he doesn't have much drop time before he goes into his flight here. but this one is not as crazy as this one. he calls it the most impressive wing suit exit. a lot of times these guys are up in the air for quote a while and they have a long time to sort of hit their target. we've seen guys go through small spaces in mountains and whatnot but he jumps off this mountain and has almost no time to go down there. >> oh, wow. ♪ >> he's able to guide himself out and hits this big opening and then he can finally, like, relax a little bit and start breathing because you're probably holding your breath the entire time you're seeing that. >> that's gnarly. gonzo's first snow day.

start over again on nouveau tv which is a network geared towards latino audiences? >> i think it's fantastic that you'll get a whole new demographic of latinos watching it and they get to watch all eight seasons in one year. >> they'll play eight seasons all in one year, back-to-back, no waiting? >> no waiting. >> no waiting. every week two episodes monday night. >> back-to-back. >> back-to-back. >> wow. that's good for all the people that want the instant gratification, that don't want to wait for the season to come. i want to see the entire thing, so that's good. >> has the show had to have been edited a lot to go on to basic cable? >> for the most part you're going to see it pretty much in its entirety. >> i mean, honestly, if you look at network tv, they've pushed the envelope a lot more than they used to. so, i think there's a version that will not be quite as graphic. but it still keeps the integrity of the show and it's very minimal what's being done. >> what is it about "dexter" where the fans were so liege and so devoted to this guy that is

basically a serial killer? >> he brings the audience into his thoughts. he explains to the audience what he's going to do, why he's doing it, the audience usually knows exactly what's going on. whereas the characters, myself and lauren, do not know what's going on, and i think that brings in the audience and it gives them an understanding what he's going through. >> what made nouveau tv choose "dexter" as the show to put on the air again? >> i mean, it's such a great show and it's multicultural, multiethnic. people still want to watch it. they still are saying, oh, i didn't get a chance to catch it. but they get a chance to see it now. >> if you want to see it on nouveau tv it premieres january 13th, 9:00 p.m., eastern time. it's a video that has gear heads cringing. people just why, why, why, why didn't this have to happen? why it has the web so reved up. and a pro bmxor heads out to hit the half pipe.
