nfc championship game against the seahawks in seattle. the winner goes to the super bowl and the loser goes home. we have live team coverage tonight. fans are getting ready for the big game, but let's go live to seattle. guys? >> reporter: less than 24 hours inactual kickoff, and we have a little 49er for a fa preseason sent today in seattle. >> big-time. we headed down to the pioneer square and there was a pep rally like you wouldn't believe, all 49ers, a sea of red and gold, wall-to-wall people. the owner of the 49ers was out

front handling out rally towels to everybody who showed up. i was talking to people from walnut creek and palo alto, and everybody was standing in this bar and you couldn't get through, shoulder to shoulder, like a rock concert. people were having the time of their life and everybody said there is no place they would rather be. >> here we are! from the bay to seattle! [ cheering and applause ] >> reporter: how cool is this rally? >> it's unbelievable. i had to put my ear plugs in. >> we are so excited. i was at the super bowl last year and we're going to be anywhere and win it. >> i'm really excited. we're going to win. >> reporter: it was so much fun being there. here is the rally towel that they were handing out.

everybody was grabbing one. it didn't take long before they ran out. we left and then we came back and they were on this side of the street and then the other side of the street, and people were driving by honking their horn and the crowd was growing louder and louder. there was one seahawk fan and i asked him if he was nervous. >> reporter: the 49er fans have taken over one area of downtown seattle with no exaggeration at all. they're going to be in for a football game obviously and we'll talk about it later on in sports. we'll have the big matchup between sherman and antoine! >> reporter: we'll be back with more in a little bit. >> maybe the 12th man is getting a bit nervous. the 49ers coverage continues

he's expecting a big 49er win with kaepernick leading the way. >> kaepernick has found his legs. the defense has to realize that they have to account for him and his ability to run. >> we love patrick willis. >> reporter: fans came here to shop. >> 49ers gear, but not that i need it but maybe some extra luck. >> reporter: outside street performers were showing their spirit. this spray paint artist had a red and gold theme to his work. one visitor brought is dog in a 49er jersey.

instead. they took similar precautions last year during the super bowl. we've created a special 49ers section on our website. just log on and click on "road to championship" on the front page . in san jose a four-alarm fire caused at least a million dollars to a coffee shop around 6:30 this morning. you can see the fire consumed the structure. workers getting ready to open up ran to the fire station around the corner to get help. it was fueled by cooking oil and furniture inside. they kept it from spreading to neighboring businesses and nobody was hurt. firefighters cram -- scramble

ed to put out a fire in marin county. what may have started this fire? >> reporter: we can tell you that right now the fire is fully contained. there's crews here putting out hot spots, about a third of a mile up that way from where we are. but crews aren't letting their guard down even though the fire is out. cyclers love to ride here, and they are sharing the road with not only cars but fire trucks, a sign of just how dry it is. >> it looks a lot like summer, not as green as normal, and it's unfortunate. the water levels are really low. >> it's a real hazard. >> reporter: somebody started a fire friday night in a remote area around the water shed. they are trying to figure out

if it was an accident or intentional. firefighters hiked hundreds of feet of hose for this fire. the small fire is a big concern because moisture in the area is at at record low. it's so dry the conditions look like a day in august. >> if we get the right conditions again with low humidity and any type of wind, we're certainly at risk of having a major wildfire. >> reporter: the governor declared a draught emergency for the state of california this year. these cyclists say it may be great for a ride but not for the water level. >> because of the draught, it's scary. >> we adjusted the sprinklers for the landscaping and you just do what you can. we need rain. >> reporter: there's a burn ban in effect here in marin county and they say it will

probably stay that way until mother nature changes it. a man accused of setting fires in san jose has allegedly confessed to all of them. this man took police on a tour of the fire sites and explained how he started each fire. the report says he took responsibility for the arsons and he said he knew people were in danger. he was arraigned yesterday and is being held outbail. the police are asking for the public's help with a crash that injured a motorcycle yesterday afternoon. the driver remains in critical condition. the police are looking for a suspect in the case of indecent

exposure. this sketch was recently released. this woman knocked on the window when she saw him and yelled, and he drove off. 80 passengers aboard the asiana plane that crashed last summer filed a lawsuit against boeing. according to the suit the group is claiming the company should have known that the boeing had inadequate auto-throttle control and low air speed warning systems and it claims that boeing should have known that the pilots weren't qualified to fly that specific aircraft. three people were killed and more than 180 people were injured as a result of the crash. they are seeking unspecified damages. sheriff department officials are looking for the decades-old wreckage of a plane that crashed in folsom lake. because of the drawing the levels of receding so they can

perhaps find the plane. volunteer divers couldn't see much today. >> the visibility was so bad. usually we run into the tree branches before we would actually see them. >> reporter: the remains of two other victims may also be in the wreckage. bay area brides to be get a chance to choose from hundreds of designer wedding stressing while helping a good cause. this is on display at the weston hotel in san francisco, featuring more than a thousand designer wedding gowns. the event was stopping by a bridle shot owner who was diagnosed with breast cancer. >> she wanted to help others going through a similar experience and be able to give back. >> all of the proceeds from this weekend's sales go to those impacted by cancer. last year they raised $2 million for programs benefiting cancer

the obama administration condemned a terrorist attack that killed 21 people, including three americans. last night a suicide bomber attacked a popular restaurant. two of the victims were employees of the american university of afghanistan, and

a third american worked for the united nations. today the secretary general joined with the u.s. in condemning the attack. >> this is totally unacceptable and a violation of international humanitarian law. they must be held accountable. >> the taliban claimed responsibility saying the attack was retaliation for an air strike early they are week, the deadliest assault since '01. people hoping to enroll for insurance will have to wait for a couple more hours or next week. the website will be off line starting at 9:00 tonight until 5:00 a.m. tuesday for maintenance. officials say customers can still get information on the site and comparison shop for coverage. the sell of berkeley's main post office are holding what

be arrested unless they wire money. staff would never call the public, superficiales say. target is planning on opening 10 more stores, three of which are in this bay area. for the first time santa clara will open a store in july. each location plans on hiring at least 200 employees. san francisco's fort mason center, a theme for the art fair. the modern art and design event features more than 40 national art dealers and galleries. proceeds benefit the san francisco museum of modern art. the museum will beholding new exhibitions and events all over the bay area. it runs through next sunday. central valley farmers are

hoping that yesterday's draught declaration will help them get through what they feel is the worst draught in their lifetime. even with the financial help, they still need rain. the governor is asking all california individuals to cut back at least 20% of their water usage. we haven't seen a cloud for days, it seems like >> right. even across the entire state. we're holding onto this dry weather pattern and a mild one. you can see the temperatures from this afternoon, very warm for this time of year. temperatures five to 10 degrees above the average.

san jose, 70. santa rosa, 73 degrees. and day six of records to report today. richmond, 71. oakland, 72. the oakland airport, 67. current temperatures are still mild out there for the 6:00 hour. san jose, 62. fairfield, 53 degrees, one of the cooler spots. in the pacific we're looking for changes but nothing to show you yet. we have development up to the north and to the west and that will be the sign of some cooling over the next few days. also tracking in the forecast, in seattle it's 45 degrees. here is the forecast model. you will see a few clads approaching seattle and some patchying for for the game. as we look at the forecast in detail at centurylink field, partly to cloudy skies. 47 degrees by the time of kickoff. 42 around the 30.

for us tonight, clear and cool. our forecast tomorrow, a little bit cooler. here is our camera looking out to san francisco. at 7:00 tomorrow morning, 46 degrees, on track to reach 66. a dry weather pattern with maybe just a chance of a few sprinkles, nothing significant, eight that will be by mid-week. overnight lows, santa rosa, san francisco, 36. over the next few days there's another area of low pressure that approaches the region from the north. no significant rainfall but maybe a few sprinkles wednesday night. by tuesday, wednesday and thursday the temperatures will take a dip. we need rainfall, and the wednesday system, just a few clouds for us, and not much as

(gasps) did you see it? does she know? this is the last thing she needs today. no! busy day at the dunphy compound. we have a wedding tonight, and this afternoon, claire is debating duane bailey in the race for town council. (lowered voice) and now the "weekly saver" says that some voters find claire-- quote-- "angry and unlikable." those voters, i say, "wait till she sees this." no one can mention it to her. we can't have some unscientific poll shaking claire's confidence. phil... what poll? too late. she knows. who told her? what is this, a witch hunt? oh, my god. i have to go. well, i just don't think it's a big deal.
