we have 17 water agencies in danger of running out of drinking water in 60 to 100 days. today water officials set the water allegations at zero percent. no new water for agencies that rely on the delta and stat water projects includes santa clara and alameda. they will need to rely on other local supplies, water they have stored. and find ways to meet their needs. >> in february more water is released in reservoirs to help fish populations in the delta. today they asked to reduce water releases. it will endanger salmon populations. >> it not picking between fish and farm or people and the environment. theiater danger is if reservoirs run out of water

and the department of fish and wildlife has halted fishing in some rivers where the water river level is too low. here in the bay area. four counties will be impacted. the santa clara county, alameda, solano, and the napa county flood control. mike traveled to fremont to see how the bay area water agencies are responding. water, there's not a lot of it. >> my yard is survival of the fittest. >> what winter season. guy says he ripped out his lawn. this will cut me back 20%. that will be helpful, with the announcement the state water project will no longer deliver water this year as long as the conditions persist, one of the

customers the alameda county water district. we're asking shorter showers and not let the water run while your brushing your teeth. the district gets 40% of the water from the state water projects. that's significant. what it means, we will be relying on our other sources of supply more, we'll be asking our customers to conserve. >> it will mail out the flyers next week allowing the customers about the zero percent water allocation and the 20% voluntary cut in usage. in two weeks they will meet to decide what could happen next. this is an evolving situation we may be asking them to conserve more or going to mandatory rationing, we're not there yet. i want to keep my plants the ones i want alive. everything else can go.

drifting. the canker -- anchor hit bottom west of the bridge. it was 1200 feet from the tube. the tube is 135 feet below sea level. no censors were activated. sticking up through the mud is probes that are at risk. the coast guard notified it at 11:58. bart officials stopped the train and found no interior damage. bart says that the public was never at any risk. the question is why did it take three hours for bart to learn about this potential problem. we're investigating that and will have more at 10. in the south bay someone

stole enough copper from the light rail station to shut it down. it is now back up and running but yesterday morning a man ripped out 60 feet of wiring cutting power to the station, but not to surveillance video, the sheriff department is looking for this man who was caught on tape. >> copper wire is taken from that station at 3:00 in the morning. so, we're linking him through strong substantial -- circumstance substantial evidence. a boat carrying drugs off the southern california coast was no match for a ghost guard cutter. during a two week deployment the crew intercepted a boat in the waters near the channel
