the recent rain we had is set up the parameters for the fog to form. you need clear skies and we have a little bit better conditions today than we had in the last couple of days. there will be some very thick fog here. it's already out at 6:30 or 7 it will be worse. it will be a be mostly sunny kind of warm day. it's 56, in san jose, oakland, mountain view, there are warm readings already. a lot of moisture in the air. heavy rain up to the north, some of this will might impact us late saturday early sunday. there's plenty of moisture up here. it won't be today. it will be kind of do this and tomorrow. fog sun and then warm, i mean especially if you get some of that sun early enough. morning drizzle, hazy and humid later on today. 60s, low 70s. >> good morning, we're looking at a decent friday except for that fog you mentioned which will keep us from seeing a lot

house. they stumbled on marijuana plants. you can see where the wires have been cut. the electrical seemed to have been rigged. they're waiting for the plants to be seized. the home off of juice and congress owe. they noticed the -- congo, it's just to give you an identification. firefighters were able to do you see the flames quickly. no one was home at the time. crews didn't say where the firefighters started. most of the damage was to the living room or one other room. >> police are on scene investigating a grow operation. it looks like they had manipulated the electrical. >> no one was hurt in the fire and the flames luckily did not spread to the other homes which are attached on both sides. the arson investigators have to release the official cause of the fire but at this stage because the house had bypassed the pg and e meter, it could be

faulty wiring and it could have sparked it. >> -- a veteran san jose firefighter is under arrest today. they rested this 53-year-old yesterday at the fire house where he worked. he is accused of having sex and providing drugs to children he contacted online t prosecutors did not reveal the number of potential victims. the mercury news reports he has been with the san jose fire department since 1994. he also worked for the catholic diocese in san jose as a church singer. protestors are camped out for janet. protestors are trying to call attention to the number of deportations of undocumented immigrations that took place

while she was the head of department of homeland security. she's on the listening tour of the uc system. the university has now contacted some 100 cal students who attend class for another student who tested positive for the measles. they'll have 300 doses of vaccines who may have been exposed to this highly contagious respiratory disease. >> it's very important for them to recognize the system, fever, cough, watery eyes and a rash and contact their health care providers immediately. they rode bart last week. anyone riding on bart between february 4th and february #th during the morning and late evening commute may have been

exposed. they've hired an outside consult at that particular time to find out what went wrong in last year's negotiations. it failed to prevent two bart strikes. it ended up with a botched deal, it cost bart more than $8.6 million. a police officer used a stun gun on a passenger. a camera captured the incident. it shows the bart police officer using a taser two times on a passenger right in front of other riders. the man was drunk harassing passengers and ignored their orders to get off the train. >> an officer doesn't have to be punched before he uses his taser or any other tool on his equipment belt. >> one woman posted a blog

criticizing bart police. she found their response what she calls heavy handed and unnecessary. >> time is 4:35 and president obama comes to california central valley to meet firsthand people affected by the drought. he's expected to come this afternoon. he'll meet with leaders and going on to tour a farm where he'll talk about the federal government's drought response efforts. he'll meet with jordan's king abdullah and play golf as well. the usda would ease restrictions for organic farmers affected by the drought. they have to allow cows to graze four months a year for it to be organic. the usda is loosening restrictions and allowing them

48-year-old john died when a piece of equipment fell on him. it happened on marina boulevard. cal osha is investigating and they say it's not been cited for any safety violations. there's a sixth flu death this season. it brings the total up to 45 flu related deaths. five had underlying medical conditions. the health department says 20 people in san mateo county are hospitalized in intensive care with the flu. the time is now 4,38. they're currently under federal investigation under suspicion of slaughtering diseased cows. they've recalled nine million pounds of beef in the past year. now, the producer of grass fed

. welcome back to ktvu channel 2 morning news. a woman 8 months pregnant was among the people killed by the snowstorm that is bearing down on the east coast this morning. they were loading groceries into their car when a bobcat tractor backed into her. although she died doctors performed a c-section and delivered her baby.

the boy is in critical condition, however. the tractor driver has not been charged, they say he drives recklessly. database new nursing graduates may make it hard for them to get work. the state department of consumer affairs say there's a backlog of 4,000 applications. they ruled out a new computer database in october. it's called the breeze system. it was designed to have applicants to enter their own information, after discovering the glitch they decided to launch it without that page. they have to enter that information themselves and it's just slowing things down. >> i have a job offer from stanford university, but they need my nursing license by friday, march 15th. the plan is to put all boards and bureaus on the system by 2015. they've requested an independent audit and they plan to put additional staff in place today to help the current 18 members to process applications. california could be the
