san francisco's only real wide receiving threat for the first one games until michael crabtree returned from injury. the winter games in sochi came to their conclusion today. canada considers hockey it's national support and the canadians proved it by winning gold in both men and women's hockey. today was a 3-0 win against sweden. and driver steven holcomb has ended a drought. last week he did that by winning in two competitions. he's also a 62 year first for the united states. here's how the final medal count went. you would have to call this a success for the host country.

up next on a second look. remembering some of the biggest names in american film. and the legacy they left behind as they passed on in the past year. straight ahead on a second look. good evening and welcome to a second look. i'm julie haener. the most famous child actor in american history died this month. shirley temple black passed away in her home in wood side from natural causes. she was 85 year old. but she was more than just that cute little girl in the films from the 1930s. she was a diplomat, a mother, grandmother and great grandmother also a devoted wife. ktvu's tara moriarty has this

do. >> reporter: vance tried to work with fox studios on the english patient but he says fox and all the other big studios just didn't get it. >> they wanted to recast scott thomas who is just magnificent in the picture. they wanted a star. an american star. a name, they didn't care about acting ability they wanted a name. and they backed out. and we were just left out hung out to dry. >> reporter: so a panicked vance left his actors behind while for months he tried to scrounge up money. in the meantime, a smaller group put up the money and he put up 11 million of his own. his first millions came from the music world for example queen's clear water was on fantasy records. more money comes in from
