now at noon -- a san jose police officer accused of raping a woman while on duty. >> if these allegations are proven to be true, the officer will be held accountable for his actions. >> why the woman turned to police for help just before the alleged assault. the search for a missing jetliner shifts to a new area hundreds of miles from the original search location. the new information being revealed about the last minutes before the plane disappeared from radar. plus -- for the first time in its history, a weekend closure scheduled for the golden gate bridge.

when the bridge is gonna be shut down and why. breaking news out of san leandro where a sig-alert has been issued for interstate 880 in san leandro. this is near the davis street exit because of a rollover accident. these are live pictures up above from newschopper2. the accident is in the northbound direction and it's blocking three lanes of traffic. there are reports of a person trapped inside the car. you can see this backup stretches for miles. tuy, i'm looking -- actually, i'm looking at the ktvu website at the traffic map. it shows black basically on 880 in both directions at the davis street exit heading southbound. you will be backed up as well as heading northbound both on the site of the accident. this is a rollover accident at davis street. it happened in the northbound

direction. traffic is backed up severely in both directions because of this and there's no estimate on when this accident will be cleared. as you can see, a fire truck there there's a rolled over car on the side of the road. this accident scene will be there for quite some time. certainly alternate routes would be recommended including 580 as well as side streets. if we get more information on this situation, we'll bring it to you. always more information on our website, facebook and twitter. a san jose police officer is under arrest accused of raping a woman five months ago. janine de la vega just spoke to investigators and joins us live. good afternoon, janine. >> reporter: good afternoon, tori. this is a blow to the police department. a spokeswoman told me that this officer's arrest is in no way a reflection of the other officers here who are here to serve the public. more ral is already low in the -- morale is already low in the department and officers are

upset and disappointed that one of their fellow officers is accused of this. now, here is a booking photo of 38-year-old jeffrey graves taken last night when he turned himself in. he's a six-year veteran of the department and worked the overnight patrol shift when the alleged sexual assault took place last september. the district attorney's office says graves had responded to a disturbance between a husband and a wife who had been drinking. the woman who was a former hotel maid told officers she wanted to stay at the hotel so graves grove her there while another officer followed. prosecutors say she went to sleep but 15 minutes later, there was a knock on the door. when she opened it, graves, the defendant, entered the room, grabbed the victim and pushed her on the bed. the d.a.'s office says graves raped her. >> this type of behavior is not tolerated in our department or any department throughout the country. we are saddened by this event. it's important for the public to know that the vast majority

of our officers conduct themselves at the highest level of professionalism, integrity and honor. >> reporter: the victim did not report the incident until nearly a month later. the police have been investigating for the past five months. the d.a.'s office says there's physical evidence that corroborates the victim's allegations and she did positively identify graves at the man who raped her. he has posted $100,000 bail and is expected to have his first court hearing on march 24th. he's currently on paid leave from the police department. the department will conduct its own internal investigation. reporting live from san jose, janine de la vega, ktvu channel 2 news. >> all right. thank you, janine. the search continues for the bullet that injured a san francisco police officer over the weekend. 28-year-old adam shaw is recovering at san francisco general. he was shot in the shoulder on saturday after he and his partner pulled over 50-year-old jeffrey ruano. police say shaw's partner

opened fire after ruano began backing his car up toward the officers. nine hours later, ruano was arrested in san jose. police say he had a .38 caliber bullet with him but no gun. the bullets used by police officers are .40 caliber. but police say at this point, it's not clear if shaw was shot by the suspect or his partner. repairs continue in san francisco after a water main break created a watery mess this morning. claudine wong joins us live from waller and divisadero in the city's lower haight with more on repairs and what we've learned about the history of problems on that street. >> let me show you what's happening on waller street. repair crews are hard at work. they are about to get the water turned back onto folks here. that's good news. waller street has been torn up in recent months and years because of problems like this one. here's why -- this is the pipe. you can see the crack here, that cracked this morning and sent the water ushing down the street. this pipe is old, very cold.

the puc said it was put in the ground in 1884. it is part of an aging system that won't give residents here a break. the water started rushing down just after 5:00 a.m. this morning. it came down waller. turned the corner at scott and created a pond at the corner of haight. and for a time that flow was pretty strong and pretty steady. >> we heard the water at 5:00 this morning. it started like a storm. the water department got out on scene. by 6:30, turned valves and got the water turned off. residents say firefighters did a great job diverting the water. instead of getting into the entire floor of a resident's house, there was only a trickle. but residents say this water problem is getting to be a consistent problem with another couple of breaks last summer. >> right there and right there. >> reporter: you lost water for how long? >> it happened twice. it was -- i don't know. we were -- the hole was in the

street for two or three months. >> reporter: and it's not just water main breaks. it's also sewer problems. a break in a sewer break in another of 2012 caused a hole so big it swallowed up a truck. work on this latest break was underway by sunrise. but residents fear the next one is just around the corner. okay. a little history on this pipe. it's 130 years old. part of it also broke a couple of years ago and they repaired it. they did not replace it just like they are repairing it. why not replace it? it's on the high priority list which means in the next three, five years, it will be replaced. the city has 1200 miles of pipe in the city and it takes a year to replace 12, 15 miles, claudine wong, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you. two students at san francisco's balboa high school are facing expulsion after a selfie of them surfaced. police say the two students took a photo of themselves with

a loaded gun on campus. investigators found the picture after the 16-year-old boys posted it to facebook. >> i feel very concerned because a lot of things are going on with the shootings all over america and kids are very influenced by what they see on social media. >> the principal at the school tells ktvu that she does not think the boys intended to do anything with the gun other than take the photo and that the boys say they did not intend to hurt anyone. a letter was sent home to parents saying the school is committed to making sure this does not happen again. for the first time in its history, the golden gate bridge is scheduled to close for 52 hours this fall. the temporary closure is planned so crews can install a new moveable median barrier. sal castanedo spoke to bridge officials about the closure and joins us live. >> reporter: tori, good afternoon. you remember maybe the last time that they closed the bridge, you may remember it, i

should say, was 1987. they closed it for one day to celebrate the 50th anniversary. this closure is planned for much longer. and it's tentatively planned for this fall. after a long wait, the barrier will be installed at a cost of $26 million. the goal is to eliminate head- on collisions over the history of the bridge, there have been many serious and sometimes deadly crashes after a vehicle has crossed into oncoming traffic which is now just separated by plastic cones. the long closure is needed to get the barrier into place. >> for around 50 to 52 hours,  we close plate on a friday -- late on a friday and be closed saturday and sunday and we actually have to literally lift the barrier out onto the bridge. >> reporter: after the moveable barrier is in place, a truck often called a zipper truck like this one will move the barriers when it's time to reconfigure the rains on the bridge. during the -- lanes on the bridge. during the morning commute,

four lanes are opened southbound and two lanes northbound. that's reversed for the evening commute. although the barrier will be made as thin as possible, the lanes will be about a half foot narrower and the bridge planners say this will take time for drivers to adjust. now, again the closure will come sometime after fleet week and after fleet week they will close it but if they can't get their planning together, they say that they are not going to do it -- they won't do it in winter. they will do it in early 2015. live from the golden gate bridge, sal castanedo, ktvu channel 2 news. the second largest u.s. pharmacy chain is now facing $29 million in fines for reportedly losing track of some of its medication. cvs cannot account for 37,000 pills from its fairfield, modesto, turlock and dixon stores. this according to the dea. nearly 3,000 of those pills are for vicodin and similar pain

killers. drug agents say they may have been sold on the black market and could be worth $10 each. senator dianne feinstein is calling it a serious breach of the u.s. constitution. the accusations she's making against the cia and how the agency's director is responding. sunny and warm around the bay area. even a bit breezy today. rosemary will be here to tell you which areas could be under a wind advisory by tonight. and the reason the search for a missing malaysian plane is focusing in an entirely different location as we learn about two passengers on board with stolen passports.

california's senator, dianne feinstein, a making harsh accusations against the cia today that she describes as a serious breach of the u.s. constitution. >> i rise today to set the record straight to provide a full accounting -- >> in a powerful speech on the senate flare, the head of the intelligence senate committee charged the cia with hacking into computers used by the committee to investigate the possible torture of terror suspects during the bush administration. she claims the cia broke several laws and prevented

effective congressional oversight of intelligence activities. >> based on what director brennan has informed us, i have grave concerns that the cia's search may well have violated the separation of powers, principles embodied in the united states constitution. >> as far as the allegations of, you know, cia hacking into, you know, senate computers, nothing could be further from the truth. >> cia director john brennan responded today saying the agency has not been spying on the committee. he says if an investigation shows any wrongdoing, he will personally bring the results to the president for the decision whether he should step down. there are indications that a missing malaysian plane may have flown hundred of miles offcourse. alex savidge has more on the investigation. >> reporter: the growing search

for a missing malaysia airplane has shifted to the west coast. rescuers are focusing on an area hundreds of miles from the east coast. authorities say the plane was flying low before it dropped off radar. >> this is something that i will not stop -- this is what i promised the families. >> reporter: the boeing 777 disappeared on saturday after leaving kuala lumpur headed to beijing. it was carrying 239 passengers and malaysian authorities believe the plane may have made a surprise turn to the west. [screaming] >> reporter: for the families of those on board the missing jetliner, it's an agonizing wait for answers. in beijing, frustrated relatives packed a meeting with airline and airport authorities. most of the plane's passengers are chinese. grief counselors are helping the families. >> i think the uncertainty is the biggest problem right now,

unlike if we have the final verdict, the closure. even if it's the worst possible news. >> reporter: and independent poll released these new images of two iranian men who boarded flight 370 using stolen passports. but authorities say it appears one of them was being smuggled and was planning to seek asylum in germany. the head of the interpol says they found no ties to terrorist groups although they are still trying to talk to friends and relatives of the two men. >> by doing this with more and more evidence, we're able to exclude they were involved in criminal conduct that mate have caused the plane to disappear. >> reporter: and today the head of the cia weighed in on this investigation saying american authorities are not ruling out the possibility terrorism was involved in this plane's mysterious disappearance. i'm alex savidge, ktvu channel 2 news. traffic signals are back up and working at a busy richmond

intersection after a poem was knocked down following a long police chase. the chase started in sacramento and ended in a crash at carlson boulevard in richmond. it began around 12:30 this morning after police tried to make a routine traffic stop in downtown sacramento near the capitol. officers say the driver refused to pull over and led them on a chase going more than 100 miles an hour onto interstate 80. the car ran over a spike strip in vallejo but kept going due to safety issues. officers called off the pursuit and lost sight of him. but a few minutes later, the driver took the carlson boulevard exit going too fast. >> the driver failed to negotiate the turn and ended up taking out a light pole which you can see here behind me. however, the light pole stayed attached to the vehicle. >> the driver jumped out of the car and tried to run but was caught about a block away. outside our doors, sunny

skies with temperatures warms in the 70s around the bay area this afternoon. that will be the headline for your tuesday before wind becomes the headline a little bit later this evening. giving you a live look at beautiful skew bly over the bray, we've got plenty of sunshine in store for today. it's a little breezy in some areas. a wind advisory for areas along the delta as well at lake county. but for the bay area not just yet. what's going on out there? we do have a ridge of high pressure building. that's leading to the warmup. but we also have a low that's dropping into nevada and we're going to get the pressure gradient right in between. so the wind is expected to pick up later this evening, lasting into tomorrow morning. we are going to continue with the warm trend and we are going to continue with the breezy weather tomorrow morning before the advisory and i'm gonna show you the advisory. let's take a look at where the wind are blowing. fairfield, 24 miles an hour with the gusts stronger than that. through the delta we have the

wind advisory already in place. for the bay area it comes this evening. oakland 14 miles an hour. napa, 17 miles an hour. santa rosa, 12. a little breezy in addition to the sunshine and warming temperatures. livermore 12 and mountain view reporting 17 with gusts stronger than that reported at mountain view as well. so for the evening hours and into tomorrow morning, it looks like the wind gusts are expected to 35 miles per hour, gusting to 50 and look at how widespread it is. it includes the north bay hills, the north bay hills. it includes the east bay hills and east bay valleys. it includes the san francisco bay and the peninsula. so a widespread wind vig for tonight. san francisco, the city of san francisco not included and the south bay areas like san jose, sunnyvale, milpitas. you are not included in this wind advisory. but everybody else north and east and along the peninsula. it includes you. 63 in concord. 66 in napa. 62 san francisco. feels pretty good out there already at this hour, this is
