dmv where we spoke to the driver about why she was so nervous while waiting in line. robert? >> reporter: she showed up at a busy dmv office but the office has been closed almost all day because of the driver's test that ended before it got started. >> reporter: the smashed up front end of this car indicates the driver didn't do to well today. the car was one of several vehicles in line at the dmv office to start the test at noon when the driver accelerated into a motorcycle rider and crashed into the building, hit a gas meter and severed a gas line. the motorcycle rider noticed the woman was jittery. >> didn't see much. came from behind. by the time i looked up gas was hissing and people came out of the car.

california highway patrol is investigating. robert handa, ktvu channel 2 news. two men suspected of manufacturing 600 explosives appeared in court today. sean gunther and marc ormando charged with 16 counts pertaining to the possession, sales or transportation of a destructive device. sean gunther was also charged with methamphetamine. marc ormando home they found explosives, fire arms and chemicals. and marc ormando has been charged with several counts related to explosives possessions as well as child endangerment. on www.ktvu.com we posted the full complaint for you. describes more about the explosives they are accused of having and where they had them. to the sexting scandal. police confiscated the phones of several students and will be

the first section of a massive new spillway gate made it to fulsome lake. you see that. 300,000-pound gate was trucked from washington state and it was so big there were rolling closures of two lanes along i-5 during the trip. it is one of 12 that will be put in place by the u.s. army corps of engineers as part of a spillway project. it will provide a better way to release water during heavy rain and reduce the flood risk to areas near sacramento. >> gives us more ability to be wise managers of the water that does come.
