call, the earthquake that had news anchors literally hitting the floor. this is ktvu channel 2 news at noon. a teen fatally stabbed is speaking out. a homeless man is responsible for the boy's death. they have been covering the story since this morning and she joins us live from campbell where you just spoke with the victim's family what did they tell you? >> reporter: well the family of the boy is devastate and they were -- devastated and they were at the hospital when he took his last breath and died. now they want to find out of what led up to him getting stabbed here at john b morgan park. >> reporter: it was a solemn mood here where friends and family were trying to console

each other. ivan was at a family barbecue last night. >> he left, ate, very happy like he always is... >> reporter: they came to the park after the barbecue and he and friends were hanging out and got into an argument with this homeless man. he was identified as todd harp. harp was beaten and todd was stabbed. >> it is going to take while a -- quite a while before we know what happened here. >> reporter: police are trying to figure out what prompted the argument and who injured who first. it is possible harp acted in self-defense. some say he was peaceful. >> even though he carries a dagger on the back of his pants, it doesn't make him dangerous. >> reporter: police are

woman now identified as yolanda as she was walking along a sidewalk last night. here is more on the important evidence left behind at the scene. >> reporter: she was walking just before midnight when a pickup jumped the curb and ploughed into her. the victim wound up in the middle of the street and the driver of the street who hit her took off. they were pushing a shopping cart. after words, they can see her gathering her belongings from the cart. neighbors say this can be a dangerous stretch of the area to walk. >> i feel so sorry because that place is so dangerous. >> reporter: this truck was coming east he can tee the

the victim was found unresponsive. anybody with information is asked to call milpitas police. and in san francisco, a woman in her 60s is recovering after being hit by a car. police say the woman was in the crosswalk when she was hit but may have been intoxicated. the driver is was cited for driving without a license and for driving without lights on. another san francisco and a super sight seeing bus was turning left when it hit a man in the crosswalk. police are using surveillance cameras from two nearby buildings to see what led to that crash. and a man is the prime suspect in the shooting death

. four people were detained after a car chase through santa clara county and it started this morning when a car failed to stop near the county fairgrounds in san jose. the people ran into a neighborhood on scott boulevard in santa clara. they brought in a canine unit to help find the suspects and it's not known why all four ran. and the malaysia flight investigators are now focusing on the pilots. they searched the homes of the pilots looking for any clues. they have analyzed the last
