deputies lost sight of car. and then deputy ricky del fiorentino came face to face with the suspect, ronald chan yerks. the patrol war karr was riddled with the w bullets. later, a lieutenant spotted the suspect. >> he walked around the corner and saw the suspect rifling through deputy d del fiorentino's vehicle and took the weapon out of his holster. approximately 10 to 15 rounds were exchanged between the lieutenant and the suspect. >> reporter: almond says the suspect was later found in a wooded area. deputies say it appears the

suspect killed himself. al monday monday said he told deputy del fiorentino that he wished he could clone 30 more of him. friends say they're outraged over a police shooting that left a 34-year-old pacifics ca man dead. police shot and killed errol chang dead in his home. police had been called to chapping's home after family members reported he had deny bp displaying pair now ya behavior. friends say the show of force probably scared chang. the city coroner plans to perform an autopsy tomorrow. there are a lot of concerned concern parents after police arrested a man who reportedly tried to kiss a middle school student this morning. there have been self cases involving a advantage man trying to lure their children.

man buying gas began talking to a group of bank ross middle school students. >> reporter: that man has been arrested. the school district put out ape letter to all parents about what happen, and they plan to alert parents throughout the school system. rob rotsz, ktvu channel 2 news. a man accuse of stabbing a teenager has been released and the murder charges guest him have been dropped. there's evidence that the man stabbed the 17-year-old boy out of the self-defense. >> mr. tharpe was in a position where he needed to defend himself and he did so. it's unfortunate a tragedy occurred in the process, but he was not violating the law.

the department of justice announced the largest fine ever levied against an auto maker in the united states. the department settled with toyota in a case over safety issues. we talked with one bay area driver who says an accident in her toyota left her afraid to drive the car. john? >> reporter: toyota settled the case, and that's a relief to a bay area driver who had an accident in her prius. >> reporter: jenny yin of san francisco had a crash in her prius. with her daughter bind the wheel, she tooktous the crash site. she showed us where she dry tried back up into a parking
