family of a young boy who said a teacher committed sex crimes against him. that teacher appeared in court tonight facing 27 charges, including lewd acts with a child and kidnapping. ktvu has been investigating him since he was arrested weeks ago. tonight we also hear from his attorney and the family of the accuser for the first time. ktvu's katy eustis was in court. why are they speaking out now? >> reporter: they spoke out in support of the young boy, showing of love for him. we are not identifying the family to protect the victim but they spoke out about the abuse and led to the investigation that likely helped other children. >> we just want to make sure he gets the justice he deserve. >> this man gave a voy to young -- voice to young boys abused

berkeley today. flames were pouring out of the bus around 11:30 a.m. this morning. a second bus picked up the passengers as firefighters put out the fire. no word on what the cause of the fire was. two men entered not guilty please in san francisco today in connection with a shooting that injured 8 people. surveillance video shows people taking cover as the car drives up and gunfire breaks out. police arrested curtis warren and verle jones. they face attempted murder, assault with a fire arm. bail is $4 million for each man. special ceremony held in the south bay today to honor law enforcement officials who have been killed or wounded in the line of duty. a quarter after 5. he was met by a woman who was upset with the media attention and then he was picked up by a man. police spokesperson confirmed chris culliver was arrested this morning in san jose. investigators say he was driving a white mustang when he hit a bicycle and say tried to drive off. a witness followed him. he hit the witness' car and a few moments later the witness blocked his car. police showed up and arrested chris culliver. a cornerback for the san francisco 49ers. investigators searched the car and found brass knuckles and then they arrested chris culliver. we are told the bicyclist was treated at the scene and released. chris culliver released 45 minutes ago. we tried to ask him what
