late last night, a strong storm cell, across the bay area they received an inch to an inch and a half of rain. soaked soil is causing more trees to topple over and knock out some power to people across the bay area. tara moriarty is in oakland where crews spent hours removing a tree and oh, boy, the damage to the cars over there. >> they have moved on to their next end didn't and honestly, they have caused a lot of problems and an enormous tree fell right on top and they were able to chop it, get it out of the way. it also impacted a street light and it is now missing and actually laying on the ground

a call just after 9:30 at 20th and eureka streets. they had to block off the road during that clean up. this morning, chp is investigating a deadly crash. it happened near high street. they say the person killed had been involved in a car accident after spinning out on the freeway. at least two other cars hit him while he was walking away from the crash scene. he was pronounced dead at the scene. the drivers who hit him are cooperating with investigators. meantime they are investigating a suspected drunk driving accident. fellow marines are holding memorials all across the bay area for 23-year-old andrew silva. the young marine had just returned home from a tour of
