fire. entered a meteorologist plea in court today. these are pictures from the base book page. prosecutors say he threw an m- 80 into the stands at a dodger's game on wednesday night. >> it probably went into my left ear. my left ear is still sore today. >> pavoni'sa bail was reduced today. he is due back in court next week and was ordered to say 150- yards away from at&t park. a woman has died from an overdose at the coaa chella music festival in southern california. after collapsing at the festival this last weekend. festival organizers say they are saddened to hear about the death, but that it appears to

be ana isolated incident. a woman hiker found dead last night was a 4th grade teacher at a school for disadvantaged children. she disappeared yesterday. hers was the 2nd woman's body found within 5 days there. ktvu spent the day out this on the trails talking to hikers and we found some worried women. >> reporter: very popular today. this is the very area where two women died hiking. just a few days and a few hundred yards apart. >> they're saying it's unrelated, from what we read, but it's too much of a coincidence. >> reporter: regular hiker jackie fears someone is on the trail. >> pushing these women over the edge. >> reporter: people left flours today. she'd be missing 2 weeks.

police say no sign of traumaa. then about half a mile away off the lake davis trail, searchers found 50 year old marie sanders' body. >> it shocked me and worried me a little bit because i also hike quite frequently around mount tam. >> reporter: they say bright clothing, a whistle or satellite tracker can mean life or death. >> i hope it gives us more of appreciation of what we have and be safe and aware. >> reporter: investigators tell us there's nothing that links these deaths, yet they also tell me they have not yet ruled out anything. a plumber in richmond apparently took the law into his own hands today shooting and killing a man he says broke

into his home. the homeowner says he shot a burglar in the chest. the man jumped a wall leaving a trail of blood and other evidence including a watch. we'll we're told two aa comp polices appeared and opened fire on the omenner. >> times are tough. you see someone who is trying to make ana honest living and provide for themselves and it's a damn shame. the homeowner was shot in the leg and was airlifted to hospital. wants its users to get politically active. warning them that some san francisco landlords are trying to evict tenants who are air b

and b customers. a popular craft store is the latest to report customers had information stolen in a massive data breach. michaels say customers had data compromised. the breach happened from may of last year through january. the texas based companies it has fully contained the incident. >> you have to watch your information closely. >> i usually use my debit card and now it seems like everywhere you go, it's almost like you should use cash. >> michael's subsidiary, aaron brothers framing says 400,000 of its customers were also affected. they are offerraing free credit monitoring services. a mud slide earlier this afternoon brought down a tree

and power lines. that knocked out power to almost 500 customers and left the road there in a mess. investigators are still looking into what caused the slide. city officials say they talked to the home owner directly above it. >> we do it to say it looks like it came from your property. if it did, you're going to be responsible. >> i looked and it's a big mess. >> reporter: do you think it's related to your property? >> i'm not really sure. i don't have enough information to say, but that's on my property. >> east bay mud tells ktvu the slide wasn't caused by a broken water line or sewage leak, but leaky irrigation or a home water line could be to blame. this is aa little girl's pet, so why does the homeowner's association say it has to go? a northern california man

at mount everest right now. for a time today, his family did not know if he survived a deadly avalanche. >> my heart sunk when i heard there was an avalanche. just a few high clouds moving across the bay area right now. coming up, the temperature change and your easter forecast.

it's the deadliest ever disaster on the world's highest mountain. an avalanche swept 12 sherpas to their deaths. one of the climbers they were

setting up for was a man from northern california. when the news broke, that man's family feared the worst. he traveled to the mountain trying to become the oldest american to climb the highest peak. a blog post brought relief to the climber's family. >> reporter: deanna geiger has been worried about her dad jim. he was trying to make history by becoming the oldest american to ever climb mount everest. an avalanche killed a dozen guides affixing ropes for the climbers. but geiger was unharmed. his family was concerned. >> i'm happy to know he's okay and he survived it. >> just hoping he'll make it home safe. he's a wonderful neighbor and

mexico this morning has been downgraded, but still a strong one. the quake was a 7.2 magnitude. the quake was centered northwest of acapulco. the quake was felt strongly in acapulco as well as the capital, mexico city. you can see some of the shaking in this news program from mexico city. elsewhere in the city, people fled out of high rises and out to the street. that quake in mexico comes as people in the bay area mark today's date. it's one 108 years since the great quake devastated san francisco. like they do every year, there was a ceremony this morning at lot us fountain. hundreds of people were there for a moment of silence.

they always seem to understand whenever you talk to them. >> reporter: but this is a story that may not have a happy ending. the chickens are ruffling the feathers of the of homeowners association that -- the neighborhood. >> our codes don't allow to have chickens. they're concerned farm animals. we don't allow goats and pigs. >> reporter: the math is say they haven't received any complaints from neighbors. but more than a fight over what constitutes a proper pet, for one little girl, this has become a matter of the heart. >> it will be hard for us to lose them. >> i would be sad if i had to give them away because they've been with me almost their whole life and they really love me, i feel like. >> reporter: the issue is being

we are dry right now. patchy fog redeveloping coast side. winds around 20 to 25 miles an hour. it is 70 degrees in fairfield. also windy there. livermore 79, oakland 60 and santa rosa 66 degrees. gusty winds. there it is looking out toward the tower. you can see patchy fog trying to reform here. i think the fog will increase in coverage near the coast and around the bay. this weekend, it will be warmer and fog for easter. next week we're tracking shower chances first thing tuesday morning. first thing tomorrow morning, thinking 40s out there. and right around the bay. waking up to some gray first thing tomorrow morning. there is a weather system out in the pacific. the area of low pressure, the

cold front. most of the energy is headed up to the north. a dry weather pattern. here is the temperature change beginning next week on monday. definitely more clouds on monday and shower chances tuesday morning. tuesday probably one of the coolest days next week. after that system, possibly the last few days of april, beginning next weekend, we're tracking a stronger system that could be paying us a visit. we'll be watching out for that. tomorrow morning, cloud cover to start out the day and then pulling back near the shore line. the warmest locations inland in the 70s, right around 75 to 78 degrees. these numbers tomorrow, about the same as today. could be a little warmer in a few spots. oakland 68, pleasanton -- the winds will pick up increasing by 1:00 or two o'clock.
