men committing a crime. judy salamon shot cell phone video of the pair. >> the suspects then entered their vehicle and drove away, judy salamon followed them back to fern street where she was shot and killed. >> reporter: police say she should have just got the video to police or called 911. when the suspects demanded judy judy salamon's phone she argued with them. at the news conference one of judy salamon's friends said she was involved in getting security it patrol their neighborhood. >> very sad to hear. john sasaki, ktvu channel 2 news. new at 5:00 p.m. 18 people under arrest and meth, cocaine, heroin and weapons and cash seized. all of it in a major operation. authorities say the operation dismantled a drug trafficking ring and some of the suspects appeared in court. one is efren -- curio. some of the suspects involved face 20 years in prison if convicted. breaking news out of southern california where a school bus crashed. these are live pictures. the fire department says 9 people had walking injuries. but four others suffered critical trauma injuries and were taken to the hospital. the crash happened 3:30 p.m. this afternoon. at this point we don't know

what caused the bus to slam into the trees. there are no reports of deaths but the driver was trapped inside for a time before crews were able to rescue him. an 84-year-old man is behind bars after a shooting at a medical center. ktvu broke the news. tonight we learned police found a weapon inside his home. ktvu's paul chambers is live with more. >> he was taken into custody and police recovered a firearm and bullets. people are shocked to hear their neighbor was arrested. >> he wasn't the guy who would be screaming and acting crazy. >> he lives two doors down.

police say the gunman they arrested yesterday. 1:40 p.m. wednesday afternoon he went into this medical office building. offenses say that is where he confronted a doctor who ran and heard gunfire. police say people were exiting the people which police put into a lock down situation. no one was injured and the gunman wasn't found till last night. >> the s.w.a.t. team was out there. phone call was placed inside the resents and he came out. -- residents and he came out. >> reporter: he is now facing attempted murder chargeles. i asked police about a motive, it is unclear and it is still an ongoing investigation. i asked if there was a relationship between the gunman and the physician. they said they are not sure. paul chambers, ktvu channel 2

a car owner has a big problem tonight. a tree came crashing down on this car. there is no word on what caused the tree to fall and there are no reports of anyone injured. they are removing the tree. a man in san jose is recovering from second degree burns after running through flames to escape a fire at his apartment last night. it happened around 11:30 a.m. on east williams street. a dozen students living in the apartment complex were forced to evacuate. a person in the unit where the fire started was able to escape but his roommate had to run through the flames to get out. a neighbor describes what happened next. >> i was in my bedroom and i hear people yelling.
