camry -- searched this toy toyota camry. the driver pulled out of a mobile home park and nearly collided with 2 men in a jet a. during the argument one of the men shot the driver. a woman in her home heard it happen. >> i heard a bunch of screeching coming from over here and all of a sudden i heard a bunch of gunshots. >> you came out. what did you see? >> just somebody leaving. >> another neighbor said he thought a pedestrian had been hit until police swarmed the area. >> and it got crazy. i saw the guy laying on the ground. >> police say they believe the 2 men and the victim are strangers and that the victim got out of his camry to continue the argument. >> the suspects never got out of their vehicle. the passenger fired from inside their vehicle in the direction of the victim. the victim was hit more than one time. he fell to the ground and our

is just getting started. we're going to head in when he head in -- they head in at 5:30. that was pretty cute trick there. we are getting reaction now from the oakland police department to the suicide after man whose baby daughter disappeared and has never found. he committed suicide last week. we first brought you the story last july when he reported his daughter was missing. web claimed that she was taken from his car while he ran into a market. he was never charged in her disappearance. sources inside the police department say officers are surprised as anyone that web committed suicide. they say there are no new recent developments but that the case does remain active. extreme heat waves, coming from some 300 scientists. the national climate assessment

have said this is as good as it gets in the springtime. i know on the west coast it's been a little breezy. we have some cool temperatures to talk about. daytime highs and a few clouds lingering around just not what you expect for this time of year, especially coming off those highs that we saw just about a week ago when we were doing highs in the upper 80s, so now temperatures are back down. as we head into the next couple of days we're going to look for temperatures to kind of work their way up. and in the mid and upper 60s, thursday, some clouds come in but it's basically going to be a slow warm up until we get towards mother's day. mother's day is going to warm up with temperatures coming back into the low 80s. we're going to see a bit of a warm weather pattern and what you would expect for this time of year. you're going to be getting into

tonight a strange twist to a plane that crashed into a house. it turns out the pilot used to own the home he crashed into. and the pilot safely walked away from the wreck as the house was burning. the pilot said he didn't realize that's where he crashed until someone pointed it out. tonight the ntsb is investigating. a california condor is

being treated for lead poisoning. zoo veterinarians today showed us the sick bird which is the first to be treated at the new center. this condor was brought to the facility from -- national park. california condors can get lead poisoning by eating lead tainted meat in animals shot and left behind by hunters. >> whereas we're really excited that we can help it's sad that we still have to do it and we have to figure out a way to get the lead out of the environment. >> say after the bird is treated she will be brought back and released. the efforts of the wildlife society have now resulted in more than 230 california condors in the wild. twitter stock tumbled more than 17% today as investigators were allowed to sell stock for the first time.

were partying with a woman at a luxury hotel in miami after waking up in the hospital the woman told police she didn't know how she got there. she also told police there was alcohol and marijuana in the room. >> she told me her name was jesus. >> the miami fire department confirmed they took the woman to the hospital following this 911 call. >> she's on the bed with no clothes on. >> the woman told police she had a sexual relationship with kaepernick in the past but they did not have sex that night. kaepernick tweeted his followers in early april saying the accusations were false. he has not tweeted about the incident since but he has retweeted his supporters. bay area congressional representatives are taking action in the wake of that recent report on sexual assaults on college campuses.

uc berkeley is one facing investigation for alleged inadequate handles of sexual assault cases. have now sent a joint letter to chancellor on response to sexual assaults. also issuing statements. says quote congresswoman spear said new at 5:00, cal tran is concerned that promoting a new eastern span of the bay bridge could cost more than they had planned and that cost could be passed on to the taxpayers and the commuters. got its first list of flaw, that could cost more to maintain than first thought. tom you saw that list.

the city. back in july of last year one dog died after eating a meatball near crest line drive in the twin peaks neighborhood. meatballs were also found in twin peaks again in february and that same month similar meatballs were discovered in the outer richmond district. human error is being blamed for some false positive results. the da says a crime lab technician used the wrong chemical while testing for methamphetamine, involved the blood samples from 2500 people. retesting found 6 false positives. the technician who made the mistake has been reassigned pending ininvestigation. office depot stock jumped almost -- shares rose on word

that the company's first quarter adjusted profits were twice as high as analysts had expected. also today office depot announced it plans to close at least 400 new stores following its merger with office max. a bay area shipyard is getting a major contract to repair one of the coast guard's largest ships. announced the 500 million- dollar deal. the company opened in january after a ship dishasn'tler closed up shop last year. workers will be repairing the polar star, one of the world's most powerful nonnuclear ships, capable of continuously breaking through 6 feet of solid ice. it recently broke a channel in the arctic. it first opened its doors back in 1914. oakland's historic city hall is
