fair change for muny that will impact more than just beta breakers. >> good afternoon. julie. the first indication that something would be different came when people started getting their race bibs. this is an old bib. it's got a sticker. that got riders a special ride on a special express bus. this is this year's race bib and as you can see there is no sticker on this one and now we know why. >> beta breakers is just one of the events that is called a special event cash fair. in the 2013 budge it it even has its own line with a pretty healthy revenue stream. >> we have the right to increase rates to a special base rate, which would be about $12. >> but hewny said other -- muny said other riders complained

well last month. at first you don't see much on the surveillance video but if you look closely on the center left of your screen you can see 2 legs dangling down from the plane and then the teen jumps down on to the ground. after he drops down you don't see a whole lot but then the teen emerges and appears to be stumbling around. as he walks around the plane there is no sight of any airport officials and then he disappears off screen. about a minute later you see what appears to be the teenager. it looks like he's making contact with an airport worker there on the ground. >> the 15-year-old has been flown back to the bay area and is currently being cared for by child protective services. he is also expected to be interviewed by san jose police. it's still not clear how he was able to jump a fence last month without being seen by anybody.

the golden state warriors today fired. head coach just 3 days after the team's game 7. >> jackson led the warriors for 3 seasons and took them to the playoffs for the last 2. this year played its best season on record. >> our sport director is here. it seems like the warriors are a team on the move. why are they firing him? >> it's going to be a lot of interesting season. turns out there was plenty of fire. wasting little time. they just lost last saturday night and they have fired mark jackson after his third year as koch. two of those leading the team there with still one year left on his contract. this is a move that is sure to be portrayed as unpopular with the fans and probably behind the scenes by plenty of players who have not commented yet.

he was very popular with the media. as well there will be plenty of speculation very soon about who is going to replace jackson. as far as jackson, he has no problem finding a new job. but in a recent tweet thanking his players, wish you nothing but the best, god bless and this from magic johnson a short while ago. if any nba team is looking for a great coach, mark jackson is now available and that he is. and a little later on in sports we will be hearing from the general manager bob meyers and also joe lake the owner also tweeted recently and then more in depth coverage on who just might step up and replace mark jackson. so we'll see. >> mark jackson, i think could wind up as the next coach as the lakers. >> wouldn't that be interesting. and we went out to get reaction to the firing of coach

argument one of the two men shot the driver of a toyota camry. a woman nearby heard it all unfold. >> i heard a bunch of screeching coming from over here and all of a sudden i heard a bunch of gunshots and that's when i ran out of the house. >> you came out. what did you see. >> i just saw somebody leaving. >> police say the victim was an asian man in his 40s and that he is expected to survive. officers are still searching for the two young men in their 20s driving a silver 4 door jeta. say an executive is facing a felony assault charge stemming from a road rage incident. obtained this charging document this afternoon filed just a few hours ago. 40-year-old jeffrey smock of kent field is facing felony assault with an enhancement alleging great bowl bodily

injury. it happened on april 16th. say smock and the driver of a truck argued over whether the truck's mirror swiped smock who was riding a bicycle at the time. smock allegedly pulled the victim out of his truck and the beating was so severe that witnesses called police to report a body in the street. this promotional video on youtube shows smock when he was ceo of the tech company iron data. tried to contact smock. his first court appearance is decembered for may 16th -- scheduled for may 16th. 4 suspected burglars were caught in the act. say the men we are stealing from a home there and all were arrested. rob ross spoke with another man who happened to be nearby when he spotted something so suspicious. >> i was just sitting having lunch. >> this man said he often spends his lunch break in his

car parked in the shade overlooking -- he asked us not to reveal his name. he said yesterday he saw an suv pull up in front of a house. first one man got out and rang the doorbell. then 2 others got out. >> i heard a big bang and i looked up again and another bang and they had kicked the door in. >> this is what that door jam looks like now. >> all 3 of them went into the house and closed the door. so at a time i called 911. >> police arrived within minutes. by then a 4th man had gone the house. >> within 30 seconds one of the suspects came walking out of the front door of the residence holding a box full of julyry. >> police -- jewelry. >> police arrested all 4 men from the sacramento area. in their car they found a stolen laptop taken from a home earlier in the day. now police are looking to see if they are connected to more

break ins. the couple whose house was broken into didn't want to appear on camera but had this to say about the man watching out. >> there is no amount of words to thank him for his quick action and coming forward with the information. >> i hope somebody would do the same if they were sitting in front of my house and saw something going on. i think we would all hope that folks would do the same thing. >> police say without the help of an alert citizen this case would probably not have been solved. so they ask all to keep their cell phones handy. happening now, a rally to try to change things at the animal shelter in oak lands. little a story that -- it is a story that 2 told you about last month. animals mistakenly being put down at the animal shelter. in oakland tonight where the crowd is calling on some major changes to be made, ali.

>> close to 75 people showed up to support the oakland animal shelter, many of them brought their pets but they are not allowed inside so that's why you see outside while the rest of the crowd headed inside. this is what the scene looked like 30 minutes ago. why was everyone here? last month talked to current and former shelter volunteers who say a lack of leadership and mismanagement led to problems like dogs being euthanized by mistake. most people tell us they think that needs to change. they would like the shelter to be run by a civilian department, an idea that some city leaders also support. >> the citizens of oak lands to treat the animals humanely.

the dealership's owner is expected to close a deal to sell the 50,000 square foot building in the next few days to an apartment developer. >> just a few years ago it would have been 5 to $10 million and now it has to be anybody's guess guess. >> to create new -- this little parking lot is slated to become a 400-foot apartment tower. a black and a half north freshening up this automobile tower getting it ready for residents. >> goodwill said it's outgrown and is selling its 2.38-acre. tell us a thousand new units could be built here. >> apparently they came on the market at $60 million and that's a pretty good chunk of change for goodwill. >> it doesn't impress everyone. >> i think height just doesn't do it for me.

advisers and their message is that the effects are here now. >> it was a picture perfect day here in washington. we spent most of it outside but despite the sunny skies we were talking about severe weather. the new national climate assessment says in california we could see more droughts, more wild fires and more water problems. >> we can't pen any one drought or weather event on climate change but tells us these types of events are going to be more frequent. >> i met with officials in the west wing and talked to them about the president's. >> it's a specific challenge not only in california but in the surrounding areas. >> so what can president obama do to help californians with this severe drought. tonight at 10:00 i'll have some insight into that. right now we are talking about your weather. temperatures definitely on the

mild side. they are going to gradually warm up but they are just hanging there in the low 70s, so tomorrow slightly warmer. around the bay in the mid and upper 60s, places like -- thursday the clouds come in but still a nice day. just slightly cooler. and then as we go into the weekend temperatures start to warm up but the story will be in the next couple of days, just a slow gradual warm up. the breezy conditions are going to continue tonight. real windy along the coast and that wind will linger into tomorrow. but as we get into the bay area weekend, we're looking at temperatures into the easily into the low and mid-80s. i have to say out here, i haven't been here since i was a little kid. it's just a beautiful city. the weather is perfect. everyone out here is telling me i hit the perfect time to be here. beautiful clear sky out here now, just a real treat.

the marine mammal center came to the rescue of a young sale today. the seal was found along the richmond coastline in friendship park. a woman had posted on the facebook page that the seal had been there for 2 days and when a camera person arrived staffers from the mammal center were already there. >> we're not sure what's wrong with it but it's very lethargic so we'll take it back to the center and give it the care that it needs and hopefully release it. >> she said that it's a young adult harbor seal. let's hope they can make it okay okay. >> get it taken care of tonight. more on the firing today of mark jackson the warriors coach. >> i wouldn't quite call it a public relations disaster but they were getting e-mails.

seems to be a pretty unpopular move by the warriors, firing mark jackson after just 3 years. he had one year left on his contract. but you can bet there will be plenty of people lining up to take his place. that's for sure. the players haven't really weighed in as of yet but today the general manager bob myers spoke about filling jackson's shoes. >> i would put this up there against any vacant job right now in the league in its attractiveness. i think people want to coach this team because of what they see in our players. i think we are going to find somebody to fill the position that the fans like and the players like. >> people want to coach the lakers or the new york nicks, too. the man who owns the team in part and who apparently has had problems with jackson getting

along with the two together, rather a benign statement. a couple of names so far popping up, steve kerr. he has no previous head coaching experience but he's been a general manager with the phoenix suns. then there's stan van gundy, a veteran coach, 8 years of nba coaching experience, miami and orlando are his previous nba spots. and all i could really say about this, if you fire somebody like mark jackson you better have someone in mind to replace him. i'm really hoping the warriors have somebody that they have zeroed in on and are ready to go. because a lot of fans and the players behind closed doors are pretty upset about it. >> the players have been
