deputies are still on the scene of massive raid in american canyon. good afternoon, everyone, i am mike mibach in today for tori campbell, only on two tara moriarty joining us live right now to explain what law enforcement officials found there, tara. >> reporter: well, they were looking for guns and drugs and that is exactly what they found. they just left a couple of minutes ago, police tell us they arrested two men on narcotics and weapons charges, we are off of american canyon road, where we saw two dozen officers scouring for evidence all morning long, news chopper 2 flew over the property this morning where you can see it is divided into plots where it is rented to people for horses and they had hammers to pound

through locks and others tore through doors. >> a lot of outdoors and storage facilities and trailers and when you are looking for narcotics they can be hid anywhere. >> we are told this is part of an ongoing investigation related to a drug bust in cordelia back in march, there police arrested people and found stole in guns, a cache of marijuana cocaine and meth, the deputies were assisted by them, one officer received minor injuries as he was trying to bust on any shed but we are told he will be fine, they will release more details later and noel walker will have much more on this story on our news at 5:00. tara moriarty, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you. also in the east bay the bart station was closed after a train hit and killed a person.

it happened just after 9:00 a.m. there. police are trying to determine how that person got on the tracks, right now all trains are not stopping there, we just checked with bart and the incident is causing 15 to 30 minute delays on the pittsburgh bay point line. developing news on the fire burning in san diego county, they are looking into arson as a possible cause of the 9 fires that started within 48 hours, the first started on tuesday, eight others all began within hours yesterday, they were fueled by intense heat and gusty winds, those fires have burned more than 9000 acres along with dozens of homes and businesses, damage already estimated at 22 million dollars, coming up in just about 10 minutes we will have a live report from the fire lines. a bay area strike team is on its way to help fight those fires in southern california, i want to show you video from livermore this morning as firefighters from all over alameda county met before rolling south, their team includes firefighters from fremont, oakland, hayward and

see the building damage, and the debris, but amazingly the damage was mostly superficial here and almost everyone involved says they are lucky things didn't get much worse. this video taken by a neighbor shows the truck on fire shortly after the crash. the big rig was traveling west on market street at 12:30 in the morning when it lost control. as the truck burned you can see the funeral parlor starting to catch fire, firefighters say two people, the driver and the passenger were able to get out just in time. >> they were very fortunate, i expected to find human remains in this vehicle but luckily they were able to escape. >> the truck was on its way to make deliveries before the crash, inside the building a caretaker who says she didn't realize how serious the crash was. >> i was hearing the crash breaking i thought i better

you know i empathize with the father but i think we need to do something about homelessness. >> she is due in court and charged with those crimes, both include hate crime allegations. the people tired of bouncing down potholes, oakland public works is going on a 7 week pot hole blitz, it was kicked off this morning there, crews will spend a week in this part of east oakland patching up streets then move on to other areas of the city, now the city says the pot hole blitz is part of an effort to keep oakland vehicles, pedestrians and others safe, the city says it hopes to repair 2500 potholes. pg&e is having a drill today to help people keep safe, they have set up a sort of base camp there, they are practicing a 911 response to simulated gas and electric hazards following an earthquake, during the trial

a robbery at an antioch cvs pharmacy did not quite end the way the crooks had hoped, police say the would be robbers crashed their vehicle through the front window of the cvs just before 6:00 a.m. this morning, it appears they may have tried to take the atm, it was knocked down but not taken from the store, police spotted the car nearby and it led them on a chase, three suspects were arrested, 1 injured and his condition is

growing there and going separate for that structure. >> all right, looks like that reporter is just wrapping up her live shot there again, again 9 fires burning in san diego county, over 10,000 acres and bay area fire crews heading down south. that will be closed while bay area temperatures are expected to be cooler today, it was 96 degrees there yesterday with humidity and officials say that has created ideal conditions for wildfires so they are closing the park as a precaution. fire officials are also keeping a close eye on the homeless encampment. they have been called out there several times to the encampment known as the jungle, they were able to keep that fire from spreading to homes but they may the danger is high due to those conditions. now, if you are headed out you should know there is a

warning tonight, sneaker waves are possible there, san francisco firefighters go through special training to rescue a rising number of swimmers in distress, we had an exclusive look at part of this beak's training session out at china beach, last year they responded to 137 water rescue incidents compared to only 36 back in 2001. >> it has definitely gone up, there is more people doing watersports and even kite boarding there which they were not doing 4 or 5 years ago. >> they say the most common rescue is a swimmer in distress especially with dangerous rip currents so crews learn how to get victims and then get those victims to safety in all kinds of situations. >> yeah, the beaches in the bay area really warming up as well but today we do have changes with that fog, kind of strange over the past few days resurfacing near the coast not too widespread yet but this is the first of a few changes that will cool us off here in the

bay area, here is our camera looking out toward mt. diablo, a few high clouds as well but temperatures already soaring up near 90, already a hot day except near the immediately coastline, on radar you can see a few high clouds moving toward the coast but fog showing up just enough to change out there, a change in the wind direction to cool things off, a cooling trend really kicks in for tomorrow. current numbers 84 in santa rosa, san francisco 77, and oakland 79, concord already 88, livermore is right around 90 and san jose currently 86 degrees, a few high clouds moving into the south bay, here is the temperature time line throughout the day easily right around 89, could be closer to 92 degrees by about 30 this afternoon, even at 9:00 tonight back down to the lower 70s so still mild for the south bay as we head into the evening hours. shallow marine layer right now. it is trying to develop but what will happen over the next 24 hours it is going to expand

in-depth and we will have a stronger onshore breeze and that will eventually cool off the entire bay area, really tomorrow and into the weekend. in fact some major cooling by the weekend. talking a lot about this guy, an area of high pressure offshore, strong high pressure for this time of year, the cooling trend begins today but we are still going to have some pretty hot numbers you will see that coming up in a little bit. but here we go with that temperature trend into the weekend, for friday, saturday, sunday, a cooler weekend, sunday easily the coolest day of the week end, forecast highs for this weekend still get ready for 90s the heat advisory expired last night at 9:00. those are your predicted highs for those areas, and morgan hill, gilroy, even santa cruz lower 90s san francisco yesterday was 88, today we will go with 79 degrees, here is your five-day-forecast, you will definitely notice that cooling trend by the weekend,

stocks continue a sharp sell off, some economists say investors are selling after disappointing oorning from wal- mart and mixed news about the u.s. economy, the dow right now down about 185 points, we are keeping an eye on breaking news right now in oakland, police are directing traffic around a peaceful protest by fast food workers, we just got this video into our newsroom a few minutes ago, here you see them at the mcdonalds there at 14th and jackson and they are doing it all day, they command they pay their workers 15 dollars an hour and allow them to form labor unions. well finding lose change under couch cushions is pretty common but three roommates in new york found a lot more in a used couch they just acquired, they discovered nearly 41,000 dollars in cash stuffed in two
