parks lot. tara moriarty joins us from the richmond district with what we have just learned about the man's condition. >> we have learned he will survive although he is still in critical condition and we have learned exactly what happened here. if i take a step back, they say the victim was never hit by that green car and he actually laid down on the parking lot and was run over. he witnessed it and called 911 and investigators just finished looking at the surveillance video. a 45-year-old said he got pinned up the car, the back tire crushing his head to they had to jack the car to free him. initially he had pulled over with his passenger with an

emergency. >> the driver of the vehicle, they were a tempting to change it -- attempting to change the tire and they had some interaction but i'm not sure what the interaction was. the victim then laid down and got run over. did the driver know he was there, was this done on purpose, was alcohol involved, these are questions they will try to answer and he hope a surveillance video will help figure things out. he will undergo alcohol testing and the passenger is being detained for questioning and we have learned that the victim had been loitering around this gas station all evening and right now we know he is not conscious but he will not be undergoing surgery at least at this time. tara moriarty ktvu channel 2 morning news. we have some new details about the suspensions of four san francisco firefighters

involving a crash that injured is motorcyclist. he now faces three felony dui charges, also assistant fire chief they are facing 8 day suspensions. they responded to give drug and alcohol tests to quinn and the firefighters union said the men did nothing wrong. >> they notified the higher ups in command and notified them brought them back and got the police involved. firefighters were on the fire truck that night, both of them faced 30-day suspensions and the men say they will face their suspensions. they said they captured a

learning from police, tara? >> he is still in critical condition and they had to hose down the area because it was a bloody scene and we are learning new details about what happened and the victim was never hit pie the car but he had laid down on the parking lot and was run over. the gas station attendant did witness the incident. a 55-year-old man who had been loitering was run over in the parking lot and he had some interaction with the driver and passenger of the car. then he laid down on the pavement got run over and was pinned underneath the car. initially the driver 31 had pulled over because of a blown out tire. >> they were changing a tire in terms of how the impact occurred and that's still under
