tricky rescue operation by the coast guard last night. they lifted an injured boater from the water, 35 miles out. the crew responded to a call about a person falling and suffering a head injury on the boat solar wind. the conditions were so rough they couldn't airlift the man from the boat so a coast guard swimmer took the man into the water for the airlift. that man is in stable condition right now. the boat was towed back. continuing coverage now. a 18-year-old girl shot dead by a deputy. her family said she suffered from depression and wasn't taking her medication. ktvu channel 2 news investigated how many officer involved shooting that involved people with mental illness. ktvu's john sasaki with the number of calls there and a program that appears to work but some say is not used widely
