bay area cities are backing away from red light cameras after years of hailing them as a key tour in helping to keep roads safe. oakland is the latest to stop using red light cameras. tom baker is live with to growing trend to red light the camera programs. >> we called around and found these things are being an endangers species. >> when first adopted cities told their constituents that the red light cameras would reduce the number of intersection crashes. the sellers told cities there was another center if not gold lining. we spoke with steven cassidy who opposed the camera system. for many jurisdictions it was
