say it is discriminating against the disabled community. good afternoon, i am noel walker in for tori campbell, texas governor rick perry is under fire for comments he made comparing homosexuality to alcoholism in a speech he made in san francisco last night and tara moriarty has this report. >> reporter: yeah, texas governor rick perry was responding to a question and he said that alcoholism is similar

to being homosexual and last night he said that. >> now i may not be able to cure that but i can control that. >> and he came under fire for those comments he made in san francisco last night and we spoke to him and he said he was saddened by it. >> but sexually orientation cannot be compared to alcoholism, i think it is a sad thing, it can not be compared to that. >> and governor rick perry went on to say though he didn't understand the gay lifestyle he doesn't need to to have an opinion on it and they will have more on that later.

university has changed his punishment, instead his degree is going to be withheld for two years, the victim is leah francis junior and she is a student there at school and she said she is still unhappy because he is still on campus and he could still do that and she said when she reported it to campus police they made fun of her and they want the stanford university to provide more protection for students and also change the policy for the universities and also they want the university to change the way they handle sexual assaults. >> and mine took 7 days so it

man who was accused of sexual assaulting a woman there at a pharmacy, this video shows him driving the suv there last sunday, that was after he had punched her and stolen her purse and they said there have been three incidents with a description matching that man since december. and the situation is serious in iraq as the rebels continue their march toward the capitol. fighters have taken control of two sunni dominated cities this week and are said to be on their way to baghdad. we have this report from there. >> now the most violent of the sunni groups have grabbed ahold of the situation and are on a

it was a terrifying scene, an incredible rescue at a gas station just outside of new york city, police in white plains say a man driving into the station blacked out, sending his car slamming into a gas pump which then burst into flames as you can see right there, luckily a good samaritan who happened to be an off duty police officer ran to the rescue, you see him pulling the man there out of the car and saved his life, he said getting

200 owls alive in the area. and we are also following this report on the cancer rates of people around the bay area and they said the number of people polled was small and that may have affected the results of the study, the area is small and they are worried it may have been contaminated by the soil there. and there is a fire that broke out there this morning and is burning out of control and authorities don't know what sparked that fire and we will continue to follow that fire and bring you more developments as soon as we get more information. and livermore authorities are continuing to look for a firebug after two more fires

there and parts of san francisco we just showed you some of the patchy fog hung up there and oakland as well so patchy fog near the coast and the bay as well, 77 degrees for santa rosa and half moon bay and santa ray checking in at 77 and fairfield 77 as well, a bit of a breeze, wents sustained 23 miles an hour, that is the most recent gust of up to 29 miles an hour, santa rosa, some calm winds and more wind reports for you out at sfo, winds gusting to 24 miles an hour and livermore winds out of the west sustained at 15 miles an hour, so the wind overall direction, the wins coming in off the west off of the cool ocean waterings, for today patchy fog, cool and mild and tomorrow be will warm things up a little bit and the weekend the warming trend will continue, in fact i think we are going to see some more mid-, possible write upper 80s well inland but for major heat in the forecast at least in the short-term. this major weather system

moving two northern california today so of course, with had the clouds this morning and the winds picking up and that will be basically a constant in the afternoon hours, especially around the bay and the area there and so it looks like your weekend will be a nice one with upper 70s and low humidity and it looks like it will be a nice day saturday and sunday. and some more neighborhoods for you, san mateo low 70s and half moon bay 66 and there 67 degrees, and here is your five- day-forecast, nothing changes, that warming trend will continue into saturday and sunday and by that timeframe most locations back up to the mid to upper 80s so noel great news for the dads out there on sunday, just the perfect weather for you to be outside and do whatever you like.
