>> reporter: police were still out in force patrolling in large groups and you can see why. look at this crowd as people chanting and dancing here at fifth and market where we learn a taxi cab was hit by gunfire around 8:00 tonight. an hour earl littler a woman was shot in the arm in front of the war field theater. a half hour before that, at golden gate and hyde, the sound of gunfire led to a stampede and injuries. and steve bendinger tells me two men carrying guns was arrested at that scene. a total of two guns were confiscated and about as many arrests. san francisco police tell me they are still looking for the person who shot the woman in front of the warfield theater tonight. would be witnesses scattered at the time. now investigators are asking witnesses to give them a call. reporting live in san francisco, patti lee, ktvu

channel 2 news. there were fewer problems though earlier in the day when huge crowds gathered for the 44th annual pride spread. coming up at 10:15, we'll take you to spade route where this year's event made history. the heat is on across the bay area. temperatures soared into the 90s causing problems for some. we have live team coverage, debora villalon is live at the alameda county fair where dozens of people were treated for heat exhaustion. but we begin with meteorologist mark tamayo with just how hot it got today. >> our temperatures did warm up. the warming trent continued throughout the area. that means more 90s on the map. that means more 90s out toward livermore, concord. up in the north bay, santa rosa, napa both in the 90s. 93 to 94 degrees. what would cool us off is not showing up in the bay area. basically the fog is way to the

dropping and paramedics there scrambling. >> reporter: pleasanton hit 44 degrees. not that hot by tri valley standards. it's a pleasant 91 right now. but because of all the pavement here at the fair it really does seem hotter and people arrive already dehydrated and then they walk until they drop. >> reporter: fans of the alameda county fair know they can count on at least two things, the miniature pig races, and some of the bay area's hottest summer temps. some spectators who didn't get under the awning carry their own shade with them. >> they drink a lot of water and stay cool. >> yeah. >> reporter: many people have been knocked down by heat before. >> feel exhausted and very fatigued and disoriented. >> reporter: those were the symptoms that brought some 40 people into this first aid station this afternoon. this woman dizzy and suffering a headache. she got off her feet in the air- conditioning, drank some water and got her vital signs

checked. today the patients who kept this fire buggy running spanned all ages. >> they ranged 17 to 80 something. >> they had pretty much the same complaint. >> pretty much. our medal term today was cincopei. >> reporter: cincopei the medical word for passing out. >> drink a lot of water and sit down. because she was standing all this time. she wasn't sitting down. so just drink a lot of water. especially if you're older. >> reporter: she was game to continue her day at the fair. many others who were treated went home. five went to the hospital. >> they just weren't bouncing back as they should. so they were a little farther along in their heat emergency. >> reporter: water in all its forms was welcomed through the late afternoon. as the sun faded and a breeze kicked off as the crowds finally got some relief from a blistering day. >> it's been hot but just got

to make sure you drink plenty of water. it's an all american event. you can't beat it. >> reporter: it's smart to be aware of heat exhaustion and its symptoms but it's not as dangerous as the more severe heat stroke which can kill. now this fairfield has another sunny week to go. next sunday the last day. reporting live in pleasanton tonight, debora villalon, ktvu channel 2 news. police responded to reports of gunfire, at a home on cedar point way just before midnight. today neighbors told us there was a good sized crowd outside the home and inside the garage. and that a person on a bicycle road by and fired into that garage. a man who lives next door says a woman lives in her home with her two sons. a teen and adult. >> they've never caused much trouble. they always stayed to

themselves. unfortunately kids they have happened, altercations may have happened i don't know all of those details. this is the shooting scene. police found five wounded men and two were air lifted to hospitals. two other men who went to hospitals for gunshots were also linked in that incident. they say an investigation begins in ernest tomorrow but no arrests so far. we first showed you this surveillance video earlier this month. that's when the sheriff's office says 25-year-old justin johnson went behind the counter at a liquor store on bakan avenue right there and began throwing bottles at the khr- rbg. the clerk wasn't injure and johnson got away. justin johnson is 6'10", 250 pounds, anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office. a gun was found inside the car of a man shot by a chp officer last night in milpitas. the man was fleeing police

around 9:30 near falling star drive just west of interstate 680. they say he slowed down to let a 7-year-old out of his car. he then attempted to hit a milpitas police cruiser. the man then got out of car, that's when a chp officer opened fire. the 29-year-old suspect was taken to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. in addition to a gun in the suspect's vehicle they found drugs on him. there's no word yet on what caused a solo vehicle crash on highway 4 in concord that critically injured one person. the highway patrol says around midnight the car drove off the freeway at the solano way exit. the car then hit a light pole and came to rest right next to the solano highway theater. it happened at 4:00 this morning along highway 1 at navigator's reach near sea ranch. the highway patrol says the car

left the road and crashed into a large tree. the two victims were pronounced dead at the scene. late tonight they are identified as giovanni cortez and aaron gonzalez cortez. the injured victim 17-year-old jason alaniz marquez was sold to the hospital. a preliminary investigation say it is car was traveling too fast around a curb. a 22-year-old mountain view woman was accused of assaulting two conductors. one of who was injured so badly she was taken to the hospital. caltrain says maria bald era ma was acting drunk and yelling profanity when she was about to get off that train. as she was leaving they say she started beating a female conductor on the head with a bag. that's when a male conductor came to the victim's aid.

in new york started back in 1970s that's a year after the stone wall riot. that riot begun after gays and lesbians fought back after police tried to raid a gay bar. the most controversial case of the supreme court is due tomorrow and it could be a landmark decision. the justices will decide if companies have religious rights that would allow them to disregard the affordable care act and refuse to give female employees benefits. they claim providing birth control violates their freedom of religion. >> i'm hoping the court will uphold the rights of individuals for their expression of their religious freedoms.

police said today they believe two young men fired at each other without thought for the innocent bystanders. witnesses say that one of the gunmen fired directly at the crowd. so far no arrests have been made. developing news out of arizona where a huge wildfire shows no signs of letting up. the san juan fire started thursday in eastern arizona's white mountains about 135 miles east of phoenix. so far tonight, eight square miles of rugged wild land has been burned. evacuation orders are still in place for about 200 people. fire officials say calmer winds today helped slightly but crews are bracing for storms expected tuesday and wednesday. tomorrow marks one year since 19 elite arizona firefighters died when they were over run by flames. it was on june 30th of last year that the winds picked up fueling the yarnell wildfire in central arizona and pushed the flames over the hot shot crew from the city of prescott.

in san jose, szenith smith. fire crews in san mateo closed streets after a collision triggered a fuel leak. fire crews used sand to absorb the gas. a battalion chief says about 200-gallons of fuel leaked. he says crews arriving at the scene activated an emergency shut off switch and were able to prevent any fuel from spilling into the fuel station. fire crews cleaned up the leak. if you're driving out of town be prepared to share the road. aaa is projecting 41 million people will go 50 miles or more from their homes and that 80% of them or 35 million will be going by car. the over all increase in travelers from last year is about 2%. more than 3 million people are expected to fly. former president bill clinton is defending a controversial comment by his

bay area temperatures have been trending up over the past two to three days. typically what cools us off is not here, closer to los angeles. we have mostly cloudy skies out there. temperatures still fairly mild especially in some of the inland neighborhoods still talking about seven -- 70s. even a few low 80s. today clear and warm. tomorrow warm and hot. the fog returns and it'll cool us off by wednesday into thursday. to start off your monday morning, lots of 50s and lots

of 60s making a come back. mild saturday in some of the in -- mild start in some of the inland valleys. san francisco checking in 55. here's a look at some of the current numbers. concord still very warm at 79. and san jose currently checking in at 76 degrees. look at 10:00, san jose already 78 degrees on track to reach the lower 90s by about 4:00 tomorrow afternoon. also in pleasanton the alameda county fair for tomorrow. it'll be warmer than today so just be extra careful the heat out there by 3:00. forecasting temperatures close to 101 degrees. so for tomorrow it'll be the hottest day of the week. high pressure has been strengthening offshore. that process will continue into monday as we start to warm up yesterday. and continue today and tomorrow. look at where we're heading 102 degrees well inland. around the bay 80s. and the beaches mainly in the 70s. with the heat of course, fire danger will be going out. we do not have any warnings in
