moms before a 27-year-old oakland woman steps in to defend her colleague. two men in confrontation at 2nd and king street. there is muffled track talkin' and for a moment it appears both groups might walk away and then something likely words causes the oakland woman to turn. as she steps forward, she is blocked by one person, and hit by another. she lands on sidewalk, knocked unconscious. >> are you kidding me? you are going to defend your family. >> martha morales was happy to hear that the woman is now out of the hospital and the man police say is responsible is now in jail. police spokesperson albie esparza says 42-year-old anthony rucker was arrested and could be charged with farting the fight along with assault and battery, even though police say this fight had nothing do with team or gang affiliations, the assualt of the 27-year-old woman and her colleague has fans cautious about their interaction. >> if the same situation happened to us and somebody was

heckling him i would try to pull him aside and keep walk. >> the video shows that the victims may have tried to walk away until a few more words were exchanged. esures says the detailses would be shared in court. in san francisco, patti lee, uk charles. the highway patrol is looking for witnesses to a hit- and-run accident in sonoma county that killed a young man. the crash happened on petaluma road near hunter lane. officer say they found the victim's body at the scene. investigators think he was walking into the road when a vehicle traveling southbound hit him. officers say the vehicle involved must be heavily damaged. >> somebody will have seen a vehicle driving down the road with maybe a bent hood or broken windshield or cracked roof or headlights that wasn't there yesterday. >> the victim is identified as 21-year-old basilio garza, jr. of santa rosa.

anyone with information about this crash is asked to call the santa rosa highway patrol. there were major delays on the golden great bridge after a crash there. the chp says the three-vehicle accident happened this afternoon. there were no injuries reported. crews moved the vehicles to vista point to help increase the flow of traffic, but , but as you can there, the clean-up caused some very long delays for drivers. a grass fire that caused a scare in contra costa county is now fully contained. officials believe a car crash may have caused the fast moving fire near clayton the highway patrol says the power lines were knocked into the dry grass. residents were forced to e- evacuate as the fire grew to 80 cakers. calfire says residents saved their homes by creating a defensible space that helped to keep the fire from spreading. >> great part is that every home that was threatened had

are warning of a secret breach involving social security numbers. the superintendent emailed parents and staff yesterday that five employees had their identities compromised. the employees were painters, carpetters and the like who worked for the builds and grounds development. the district says that the breach happened while files were being moved. it's putting more security measures in place, along with offering id protection plans to all of its i'm nyse fremont police say they arrested a child abuse suspect who they say has been living in the bay area under a false name. investigators say this man 41- year-old william torres has been wanted by green bay, wisconsin police since 2008 for alleged child sexual abuse torres was arrested on july 1st at his home in fremont and is waiting for extradition

to wisconsin. as kutv's john sasaki toles us this search for sierra lamar comes a day after the release of a grand jury report that detailed evidence against the murder suspect. >> reporter: a half-dozen people poked and scaped their way through trees in gilroy searching for any sign of sierra lamar. they have been out almost every saturday for more than two years hoping to give sierra's family some relief. >> if it was my daughter and i have two, i would want somebody looking. i would not be able to just sit home and wait. >> reporter: one volunteer came today for the first time despite having no connection to sierra or her family. >> i saw a link on facebook, and it's kind of sad. but i wanted to help. >> reporter: at the search center in morgan hill, sierra's family steve said that the volunteers help to keep the family hopeful. >> what i am hoping is that

she is still alive somehow, somewhere. >> reporter: today's search came one day after the release of the nearly,000 page of grand jury transcript that details the kidnapping and murder of sierra and including evidence of sierra's dna in garcia-torres car. >> i have faith in the d.a.'s and sheriff's deputy work already. just knowing what i did know and now knowing some more deals and some things, i feel each more confident. >> reporter: sierra's mother was at center, but declined to talk to us saying she was too emotional her best friend said yesterday's developments were encouraging. >> we're going to continue to have hope, this is not saying it's the end, but it's the beginning of pushing forward harder. >> reporter: 15-20 people come over every saturday to help find sierra lamar and hope it will encourage more people to come

people, police say the gunman chased two people down the street and killed them and killed a good samaritan who has trying to help the victim. two others were wounded. no officer were hurt. police have identified the suspect as 36 john smith of pasadena and say smith had some kind of landlord-tenant relationship with some of the victims. school football coaches in the sacramento area got an important lesson in keeping their players safe. they learned some new techniques for the game that aim to prevent concussions by protecting the head during tackles. >> reporter: dozens of coaches are tackling each other on the football field at rocklin high school. it's a chance to experience what their kids go through everyday. >> it's a violent sport, but we're doing our best in leading way to prevent that as much as possible. >> reporter: coaches are being taught to

building. >> according to the san francisco chronicle, chanel, jimmy choo were among the stores that were damaged. city officials say the contractor working on the central subway project apparently damaged the 8" water main causing it to burst. the chp is investigating a deadly accident in san josi. it happened this morning near south blossom hill road. the chp shut down the highway for about 2.5 hours. one person died in that crash and two other were taken to the hospital. san francisco police they didn't have to go far to arrest a suspected drunk driver who crashed right into the steps of the hall of justice. police say last night the driver went the wrong way down bryant street and smashed up the railing outside of the hall. this afternoon when we stopped by, there was still yellow tape around the crash area and broken glass. the building itself was not damaged and no one was hurt.
