it is all on www.ktvu.com. traffic is moving on the golden gate bridge after an unusual incident involving a uhaul truck that caused a back up this afternoon. happened about 3:20 p.m. the chp says the driver of the truck stopped on the bridge. then got out of the truck and threw his keys off the bridge and then pulled a bike out of the back of the truck and road off. authorities stopped traffic in both directions till the truck and the trailer could be pulled away. the california highway patrol says the truck and the trailer water empty. the chp detained the man and he is being questioned about what happened. new video now just released by police. they say this is the car that dropped off the three armed bank robbery suspects in wednesday's deadly chase and shoot out. police hope someone will notify the car along with whoever was

driving it. -- driving it. the family of the hostage who was killed spoke about their loss. ktvu's maureen naylor is live with their story and plea for help. >> reporter: it was emotional this afternoon as the family of the mother killed spoke about who she was and about the action they are now taking. >> reporter: in stockton today had grieving family stood together but without the woman who they call the heart of their family. >> what happened to misty is a nightmare. >> reporter: misty holt-sing was withdrawing money when they took her hostage wednesday. today her 19-year-old son and 12-year-old daughter recalled her as a caring and loving mother who always put her family first. >> i wake up and i am hoping it is a dream and that my mom will be there but she not. >> her daughter was waiting inside the car when she went into the bank. >> i just want to thank

black car. police are looking for the driver of that car. meanwhile the attorney said they are requesting a investigation into the use of weapons and force. san francisco general says it is hoping someone can help identify a mystery patient. officials say a ambulance brought this man to the hospital a month ago. here is his picture. he carried no qualification and the hospital says he is too confused to give him his name. she between the 50 and 60 years old. 5'10" and weighs 213 pounds. the woman who police say robbed an 8-year-old girl for the money she made from selling candy has been arrested. we showed you this video earlier this week. this woman robbed the girl in sphraen. police say she asked the girl for money for the bus and took off with all the money. the 46-year-old ladonna

49ers star linebacker alton smith wasn't on the practice field today, he stood before a judge to learn what his legal troubles will cost him. he was sentenced to three years probation. if he gets caught drinking during that time he would send him to jail. ktvu's mike mibach reports he

was apologetic in court as he listened to the sentence. >> reporter: today 49ers star linebacker alton smith addressed the judge at his hearing. >> thank you, your honor. i would like it apologize for my actions. i would like you to know i will follow whatever orders you give me. thank you. >> reporter: his attorney made a motion to the judge requesting the violations he pled no contest to be reduced to misdemeanors. the juge ruled in behavior of the defense. >> -- judge ruled in favor of the defense. >> what i care about is the danger to the public and i think we have been faithful to that. when that is our guide you do the right thing. >> the judge sentenced alton smith on the charges to three

years court probation, 12 days in jail with one day credit. he could shover remaining 11 days -- serve the remaining days through a county work program. >> we are at the end. i think alton smith got treated fairly. he got treated like anyone else would. >> reporter: he could open camp next week but he could also still be disciplined by the nfl. he had a family matter to attend to next week, that is the reason this hearing got pushed up to today. we should say that we reached out to the 49ers organization for comment but have not heard back. in san jose, mike mibach, ktvu channel 2 news. new rules went into effect in san jose that could force the shut down of 20 medical marijuana dispensaries. it includes strict new zoning

of a campaign to save a cross. >> reporter: she a 15-year-old boy on a mission. >> i posted. it shows the -- [ indiscernible ] >> reporter: she mounting a campaign. he is looking to preserve what he call as city icon built before he was born by a man he nev met. he -- never met. he wants to keep this cross. >> this one has character. >> reporter: for as long as he could remember he had a special connection to the cross even though his first visit to it didn't go well. >> we walked up there when he was 5 years old and he got poison oak. >> the cross was made by a refire police officer more than 30 years ago to honor his fellow world war ii comrades who did about come home. he is now 96 years old.

>> their memory. the memory of all the other wars. >> reporter: two years ago ktvu channel 2 news spoke to him after he just been told by the owner he could no longer go up the hill to pain tain the -- maintain the cross. there are liability issues. this week he was researching the cross online and saw our story. he grabbed buddies and began canvassing neighbors to drum up support to allow them to maintain the cross. >> if i am able to take care of it. it is my duty after i enjoyed it for so many years. >> makes me feel important. >> reporter: he got emotional when he heard of the campaign to save the cross. >> stands for love. i hope it stays there forever. >> reporter: he hoped the cross
