crosswalk. >> see how this video led to a police apology. >> he just did the same thing. >> plus getting a baby elephant across the river. andet for the streamies. >> an awards show right up our alley. >> how to help your favorite viral video star take home the top prize. >> have it. you're about to watch a terrible situation get incredibly, incredibly worse. you see, at this gas station in oman, you see two young guys on their bikes. they just fueled up, right? the guy in the front trying to start his bike. the guy next to him filling up his car, right? the kid is having trouble. apparently a spark from the bike sets his bike on fire. he gets out of there, jumps off. that thing is engulfed in flames. the car behind the bike backs away. >> somebody grab a fire

extinguisher? >> no, no, watch the guy an the left. starts driving and you can see the guy forgot to remove the hose, the nozzle from his car. watch what happens here. >> of course. >> no! >> gas all over the place. >> yeah. >> the guy an the right is trying to put it out. doesn't seem to notice that happened. and that gas could have hit that guy and made that guy drenched in gasoline. but now look at this. it starts to spread to all that gas that's on the ground. this fire destroyed those two pumps entirely and caused a whole bunch of damage. >> it's reckless on his part. he was trying to, of course, rescue his car, save his car from the flames. >> we've got this same fire from another angle. you can see a man caused a lot of damage. but i am happy to say that firefighters were able to get to the scene pretty quickly. they got this thing taken care of in no time. no injuries except to the two pretty destroyed pumps. ♪

i got a set of tickets to these races in winston salem, north carolina. coming out of the pits is tim brown. he's waiting for burt meyers to come by in the number 1 car. he puts kurt meyers off because he claims burt meyers spun him. he came back to exact his revenge. this turns into a brawl. >> it's a brawl with their cars. they are beating each other up with their cars. >> it's like a demolition derby. is it me or this specific racetrack where they start beating each other up with cars because this isn't the 1st time we've seen it. >> we saw an incident very similar to this about a month ago where the guys started smashing into each other. i know this is wrong, but i love it. if you are at the track you have

to -- >> you don't even know you're paying for this. >> it is very dangerous, though, to the other track officials. they are trying to flash his lights into the eyes of the driver to try and get their attention. >> one of them has a stick and he's poking it in there like he's at the zoo poking at the animal cage. >> the other racers keep going. the race does stop when this mayhem is going on. eventually the guys are separated. according to the racetrack website, nascar officials at the stadium announced penalties for tim brown and burt meyers for the remainder of the season. both drivers have been placed on probation. they'll be docked 100 points which moves them from first and second to fourth and fifth respectively. >> that's a big deal. >> tim brown also said an his facebook page that he's not coming back for the remainder of the season. >> this is like nascar and a soap opera together. >> it's awesome. this video doesn't surprise me because we all know that elephants have the amazing

capacity to mourn their lost but they also know how to protect their babies which you see in this video. you see five elephants there. that one in the middle is a juvenile. but that's not the one protecting. the one they are protecting is even smaller than that. you are thinking, where is it? that baby is in the middle of all of them. there you see it right there. they are all acting as nannies for this little elephant because that is a strong river. so they want to make sure, i know this sounds strange, but they want to make sure a big elephant doesn't get washed away. >> i don't think he even knows this is sort of a safety exercise. i think he's like, we get to hang out. there's water. cool. thanks for all the barriers. we have two cute babies in this video. one is a fawn, the other human. that baby, her name is celine. she's 6 months old. and her mom is taking this video. and her mom kayla said the faun

was looking for its month and saw the baby and the family thought, let me go spend some time with them. >> a wild fawn that just happened to come up to them? >> yeah. >> playing with the baby deer. >> i think the baby deer is like, well, my mom is coming. i have to go home. it was nice spending time with you. i saw your light. i was like, i'm probably going to get pulled over for some [ bleep ] reason. >> this is the video of a police officer in lafayette, colorado, who has pulled over a young man. you'll never guess what he's been pulled over for. >> you see the white guy? that means you can go across the cross walk. >> you have to walk your bike. >> did you hear that? this officer stopped this young man who was on a bicycle for riding his bike through the crosswalk when he had the crossing signal. as the officer is asking this teen's last name, his name is vince martin, vince says i'm not going to give you my last name. >> i'm not going to tell you

that. >> i didn't even know that was a law or rule. >> the crazy thing about this entire video is, turns out that's not a law in lafayette, colorado. the lafayette police department has issued a formal apology to vince martin and that this particular police officer misinterpreted the traffic code. the police chief also said they have no formally trained this police officer. >> hey, watch this guy. he just did the same thing! >> that is bs. i don't blame this guy for being upset. i also don't blame him for challenging the officer. >> more than likely if you'll not get me your information, i'll arrest you. >> this officer cuffed vince martin and kept him on scene mean was never officially arrested. the officer decided to let it go but give him a summons. >> the police chief also said that the summons has been dropped. >>hat was in the code that the officer misunderstood? how can he sunderstand something basic as goi through a crosswalk? >> is a

video of a guy getting arrested for riding his bike cross the street which is not against the law. >> a lot of people believe the fact this video has been shared more than 4,000 times, that's why the lafayette, colorado, police department had to deal with this issue so effectively. i'm coming, buddy. >> rescuers hear yells coming from a small boy who -- >> was stuck in a rip current that was just dragging him out to sea. >> how this turned into a race against time and the current. and the sweet rescue to save a scared family pet. >> he looks so scared.

the rnly is responsible for many rescues at sea. this one was only a matter of time before the little boy they are about to rescue was too tired to stay afloat. >> i'm coming, buddy. i'm coming, mate. >> lifeguards heard the little boy screaming out at sea because he was stuck in a rip current that was just dragging him out to sea. >> you're all right. >> oh, he's just gasping for air. you know that he was terrified, stressed, exhausted. >> what a scary situation for the parents. just watching their boy play with his little boogie board and suddenly he's just gone. >> and they probably can't even

see him at this point from the shore. he probably just disappeared. >> a horrifying moment for everybody involved. but these guys are good at what they do. they got to him right away. the lifeguard tells the boy to jump on, take his time, catch his breath. he finally makes it on to the board. and once they are both situated properly, they start paddling right back to shore. >> this is a good video for people to see because so many people are out in the oceans and you never know when you'll just get pulled in. another very timely rescue, this was a call responding to a house fire. the kitchen apparently caught fire. and we see the firefighter entering -- but look at who they rescue. >> oh. >> he looks so scared. >> he's so scared. the smoke alarm was going off and that terrifies the ab malni. all these strange guys in uniforms.

how can everybody get involved? >> we really thought long and hard about how we wanted to make sure that the awards were relevant this year. the first way we did that was by expanding the categories into subject areas. on youtube, online video, you see these megastars in gaming and beauty. even pranks. great collaboration. we want to make sure those categories are being honored. >> viewers can help with submissions, who gets nominated. >> oh, absolutely. this is the internet. so we take a little different approach than some other traditional award shows. we have a judgingody that selects thewinners, bhee in deciding who the nominees are. >> what do streamy award winners get on stage? what's the trophy? >> you want to see it? i have it. >> awesome. >> one of the first award winners said it looked like

creative wife jennifer joining us "right this minute" to talk to us about this birthday surprise. happy birthday. >> happy birthday, gary. >> when you woke up on your birthday, describe to us how that morning went. >> i started seeing these birthday messages. i thought it was spam. i started getting look messages like, hey, you know, i'm from china but i just happened to be visiting new york. have a great birthday. and then i started seeing like these flyers in subway stations. it was very sweet. very unexpected for somebody that's not on social media. >> jen you did this all the day before, right? >> i did it the day of, but i made a strategy throughout the week. like i was thinking, okay, what subway stations am i going to hit? how early should i get up and, please, god, let somebody respond. >> but the thing about it, like i told jen, it's obviously the thought that counts. especially in a city like new york which has such a reputation
