. this is the 10:00 o'clock news on ktvu. the first teams to step on the field at levi stadium for the first game, the first big cloud and first national -- crowd, and first national anthem. the bay area's new football stadium is finally open for business. >> good evening, the train doors opened and hundreds of fans raced into the stadium. this was the scene from news chopper 2 about 90 minutes before the game. thousands of people in one direction, two and a half years

after ground breaking, all these people trying to get into the stadium for the first ever sporting event. this was also an important run through of what to expect when the 49ers actually play there. >> the stadium hosted major league soccer tonight. we were there where the match just ended. >> reporter: finally a crowd of levi stadium. many here for soccer, but some because football can't come soon enough. >> i was getting excited during the anthem, but then i realized it was soccer. >> reporter: and others know it won't be so affordable again. >> as soon as you walk in you see the view, it's really nice. >> reporter: first impression? it's airy and bright.

host superbowl 50 in 2016 and the pac12 championship team. and the 49ers first pre-season game is august 18th, and they'll play the chicago bears september 14th for their first game. right now we have details about the best public transit route, and parking under hot topics on our website. new at 10:00, the search for a man who sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl in fairfield. about 12:20 this afternoon, the teen was jogging on a trail near silver creek drive when she was attacked. the teen says she fought back and was able to get away and ran home for help. the suspect is described as a white male, apply 18 years old, thin with facial hair wearing a black shirt and great sweat

pants. anyone with information is asked to call police. also new at 10:00, a major drug bust at a popular bay care beach, and nine men are being questioned about their roles in a smuggling situation. patty is live with more. >> reporter: this take down required months of surveillance, and is part of homeland security's look at drug smuggling from beaches. agents waited for drug smugglers to land, then moved in arrested six men on the spot, three more this morning. according to us immigration and customs enfoxment since last -- enforcement since last october over 600 people have been arrested in these situations.

homeland security says because of increased border security in southern california, drug runners are choosing the central coast to unland the contraband because their boats can land on beaches without being seen from the road. >> reporter: we've learned the men arrested are being held in the building behind me, there are no charges yet, that's because at this point it's not sure if the da or us attorney is going to prosecute. live in redwood city. and governor brown declared a state of emergency today because of the 17 wildfires burning in california. tonight thousands of firefighters are battling fires in northern and central california alone. three of those were sparked by dry lightning, the biggest is

two hours outside redding. so far it's 15 percent contained. firefighters say strong winds and hot weather in the forecast could certainly complicate efforts to fight the fire. another fire has exploded incise in shasta county. its forced the evacuation of campers, and shut down highway 89 in the area. cal fire says the fire which started thursday has grown to 7,000 acres and no containment. sonoma county sent firefighters to help fight fire, they'll be gone for about two weeks. the county says resources here are stretched because of the drought, and at most it could spare one more team. transportation officials

are investigating two san francisco crashes that injured several people. a big rig truck turned left right into the path of a light rail train at 3rd straight in the bay view district. 11 people had to be hospitalized. police said the truck driver clearly turned illegally, no word on if charged have been filed. about the same time a bus rear ended a dump truck. the bus was going outbound on gary after avenue, the -- avenue, the bus driver was trying to avoid another truck when it happened. 12 people were hospitalized. a carful walk as a -- careful walk as a missionary from ebola was walked into a hospital. one of two americans infected we the deadly virus, the second is expected to return in a few

days. extreme measures are being taken to protect the public and those treated them. >> reporter: dr. brantloy arrived back on a jet specially outfitted to make sure the virus wouldn't escape, and then was walked inside the building wearying aprotective suit. -- wearing a protective suit. >> it's unique this is the first patient with ebola in the united states, but that's the key point. i can't think of a better place in the world other than emory to care for this patient. >> reporter: they came down with the virus while working in liberia. emory says now both of them will be treated in a special isolation unit to give them the best chance at getting better while ensuring the virus doesn't spread. meanwhile facilities around the globe are scrambling to take

precautions against it. an airport added fever scanners, and an isolation center after a passenger who stopped there died of the virus. >> we have 700 passengers coming from various destinations every day, so we needed to take these measures. >> reporter: the doctor's wife said her husband is glad to be back in the us, she also asked for prayers for those effected by the ebola virus. this centers for disease control received what the director called nasty e-mails, and at least 100 calls from people angry that the patient was allowed to return to the us. they hope fear about the virus doesn't trump americans' compassion for the ill. >> three separate shootings last night in oakland, killed one man, injured another and injured a 13-year-old girl who

was buying candy. one bullet hit the market, a sister and brother were inside. he ducked but she was hit. the girl was taken to oakland children's hospital with a gunshot wound to her shoulder. she's expected to fully recover. no arrest have been made. san jose police are investigating a shooting that killed a man in an area where tensions are rising between gang members and drug dealers. it happened in a 7-11 parking lot in south san jose, footage shows the victim had words with people inside of a car before the gunman got out and opened fire. that victim died at the scene. it's the 23rd homicide in san jose this year. a man hut for a 20-year-old -- hunt for a 20-year-old homicide suspect who may be holding a woman against her will. it's this man. the victim's name hasn't been

released. a woman may be with him. today police released these photos showing the distinctive tattoos of schools on his armaments he was last seen in a -- arms. he was last seen in a kia suv. a woman was discovered about 6:45 this morning in a park, she was wrapped in a blanket and found inside the park. this video was taken this afternoon after police left the scene. police tell us the victim is in her 40s and may have been sexually assaulted. anyone with information is asked to call police. and people with plans to talk bart this weekend should be aware of delays. they're doing maintenance today and tomorrow, trains will be

a noticeable cool down swept into the bay area this amp, and i think -- afternoon, and i think we'll see additional cooling tomorrow. still 72 in antioch, oh, those nice summer were nights. closer to the -- summer nights, and closer to the bay it's cooler. upper 50s past moon bay, so clouds and fog back around the bay area filling in as a speak. i'll look at that in just a moment. the winds are on shore. it was a robust on sure breeze that brought the cool down this afternoon, 10 to 15 degrees of cooling inland. and low clouds moving back across the bay, and i think we'll be pretty well filled in

getting into the overnight hours and for tomorrow morning, so expect the overcast skies once again for sunday morning. these clouds to the south and to the east of us coming in from the south, and desert southwest, take a look, in addition to that moon soon moist -- monsoon moisture, we have this right here that's bringing rain in southern california. it was pouring over parts of la, so they have that going on there. for us at home, pick it up for you tonight, show you into tomorrow morning, low clouds at the coast, but notice we've got the mid and high level clouds coming our way once again, so tomorrow morning, we're off to a good start. by the afternoon those high clouds still coming our way and the sierra, those thunderstorms will linger there. for us at home i don't think the clouds will be a big deal

tomorrow, but into monday and tuesday we could see changes coming our way, so we'll be tracking that. as we get going tomorrow, around sun rise temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s, 61 for livermore, and 63 in antioch temperatures in the upper 70s. san francisco 64, cloudy and cool at the coast, inland east bay, and temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s, so warm but a lot better than just even yesterday. 69 san jose, the extended forecast showing temperatures fall off just a bit more monday, and then we hold steady in a comfortable pattern through the business week, but that's the tropical moisture working back to the bay area, we'll be tracking that for the first part of the week.

[ singing ] the rehabilitation program allows inmates on good behavior to form bands, all types of music are represented.

musicians from the outside donate the instruments, as for teaching some of the long time inmates tutor the younger prisoners. you might say performing is one way they can escape. thousands came to downtown oakland today to enjoy the art and soul festival. the 14th annual festival features music and food, art, and lots of family fun. crowds filled the 10-block area to sample barbecue, listen to the blues, and see artists at work. people say it's become a tradition. >> it's just a good time, it's not expensive and the food is great. >> >. there's music and a lot of great entertainment. >> it's a part of our heritage, we can come together, listen to music, have good food. it's a community event.
