noelle walker, ktvu channel "2 news." developing news in sha, it dasta county county fire is still raging. the fire has already destroyed eight homes. there is no containment. firefighters from as far away as montana are helping to battle the wildfire. . the wildfire is one of more than a dozen burning right now in northern california. here is a map showing some of the approximate locations of the fires burning right now. many of them, as we said.

had little to no containment. california national guard tweeted this photo taken of the fall river mills airport in shasta county, showing an enormous plume of smoke. as with many of these fires, crews are up against high temperatures and tender dry vegetation. mark tomeo continues with more on what the firefighters are facing. >> august, september, october, very extreme conditions out there. as far as the conditions right now, around the two fires you were talking about, here's a closer look at the mapping system. showing the two fires and the weather today -- we'll look at some of the current conditions. very dry and winds out of the southwest, abetted of a breeze around 12-miles an hour. the other fire to the north, the day fire, still pretty hot there as well.

highway patrol officers say the driver of a big rig drifted and hit an 'em bankment, knocking 24 cartons of fruit on the highway. two lanes were closed for several hours. the driver was arrested for drunk driving. >> >> a convicted murderer who escaped from prison guards is back in custody. jeffrey landers got away at 6:00 while guards were transporting him through the county. he was serving time for stabbing a riverside man to death in 2011. he was being transferred to

take flares adam housley reports, residents in toledo, ohio are being told to not use the water for any reason. >> reporter: the first test indicating trouble came friday night. after midnight on saturday, the district put out a warning for toledo and suburbs. elevated readings for the toxic microsystem. the city has said not to boil the water, because it increases the toxic concentration, the mayor said that children should not bathe in the water and the water should not be given to pets. so far, residents have been told not to drink, brush their teeth or wash dishes and people with liver problems and other health concerns have been told not to take showers. >> people who have sensitive skin may not wanted to shower because it can be irritating. the only other recommendation, we talked about it earlier, it may cause some liver issue.

been tracking showers and moisture plumes coming into the area and we have the shower threat. a month or so muggy conditions out there. recurring theme once again this week. as far as temperatures from today, they cool off. neighborhoods have been very hot, today, finally some relief. a lot of 80s concorde, livermore, san francisco, 74, looking to our south toward southern california, a bit of a circulation developing. rotation and all of the moisture approaching the bay area. there is the circulation i was talking about associated with an area of low pressure. the area of low pressure producing showers and thunderstorms. no showers here, we just have the clouds out here and the clouds move into the region. high clouds definitely continue to filter into the region. current numbers out there, santa rosa, 71, san jose reporting partly cloudy skies
