man. >> he does do contracting type work and he seems like good guy. >> but he hasn't been home since friday, that is when police arrested him and charged him with lewd and lascivious with -- lewd and lascivious acts with a child. >> he is a handy man in the area and was doing some work for another family member who the girls were staying at and he lured them away on separate occasions and touched them inappropriately. >> reporter: they told their parents and their parents called police. police say he doesn't have a prior criminal record but are concerned these weren't isolated incidents. high is in custody -- he is in custody but we are looking for additional victims. >> reporter: he is not sure what to think but he isn't prepared to think the worse. >> i wouldn't believe it till somebody proves it. i would be careful about that.

player -- cal football player who died is filing a wrongful debt lawsuit. they claim coaches and trainers failed to immediately help him. tomorrow the family plans to announce the lawsuit against university of california. the coroner found he had a heart condition. mount sinai in manhattan is testing a patient for ebola. the patient arrived this morning and had returned from west africa. >> the patient was isolated and placed in a strict isolation facility at mark at -- at mark sanchez so -- at mount sinai. he had a fever and other systems. >> staff are working with the centers for disease control and

and why the case against joseph martin may not end with this trial. >> reporter: the prosecutor called joseph martin the master of his domain. this trial start 9 weeks ago and the jury will get the case soon. >> reporter: once again cameras were not allowed in court but the district attorney reminded jurors about the evidence in the case. including a note that read i love how you massage me and a note he rote that read please tellboat -- wrote that read please tell me about the things i did to you that you love. >> with one person it could be sexual, with another it might not.

but his testimony is at the caller bone to calm -- collar bone to calm the children down. last week some charges were dropped. the jury must be unanimous to convict joseph martin on any of the 116 counts against him. >> my worry is there will be a hung jury. this case is complicated. >> if convicted the sentence could be complicated too. if convicted of molesting one child he would face 8 years. but if the jury convicted him of molesting more than one child the penalty multiplies. >> reporter: if convicted on all counts joseph martin would be looking at more than 1700 years in prison. if the jury is hung on some counts the district attorney could decide to retry joseph martin and begin the process all over again. allie rasmus, ktvu channel 2

news. a man who broke into a home assaulted a woman and ran away with money is now behind bars. he was arrested yesterday just hours after police say he broke into a home. they say he waded for a mother and her daughter to come home and tied them up and sexually assaulted the mother. officers were able to track him down and arrest him. he is a convicted felon and will be arraigned tomorrow. thousands of firefighters are battling wildfires in northern california which burned more than 110,000 acres combined. the situation is so severe governor jerry brown declared a state of emergency saturday. officials believe most of the fires were started by lightning with two particularly aggressive fires. one fire is northeast of redding in the national forest

with no containment so far. it burned 25,000 acres and destroyed weight homes and forced the e-- 8 homes and forced the evacuation of homes. and many are ignoring evacuation orders to protect their homes and the bald fire, it burned 40,000 acres and only 20% contained but it is not threatening structures. officials say the two fires have quadrupled in size. it looks like one of those google maps cars but a new pg&e truck isn't taking pictures, it is searching for gas leaks. ktvu's tom vacar shows us how it works. >> reporter: pg&e unsamed the latest technology -- unveiled the latest technology today. it could pinpoint leaks as the vehicles slowly cruise the

the coast card spent hours searching for the captain of a fishing boat, he disappeared after abandoning ship off ocean beach in san francisco. the coast guard suspended the search with no sign of the man. all of this began this morning when the captain called for help. ktvu's brian flores tells us they think the man may have tried to swim to shore thinking he could make it on his own.

integrity of the boat. they would remove fuel. >> reporter: brian flores, ktvu channel 2 news. rain and flash flooding is blamed for killing one man and trapping hundreds of other people with mudslide. san bernardino county was hit hard. mudslide left many roads impassable and trapped 2500 people in the communities. some people found themselves stranded in their vehicles. the man who died was swept away by a flooded creek. crews worked to free hundreds of children trapped at a church camp by a mudslide. >> everything slides down and it is just this rush of rock and water and mud. >> i knew it was a flash flood. i knew we would in the middle of it and we had minutes to decide to turn around. >> mudslide destroyed 8 homes and damaged others. the latest terminator movie is filmed in san francisco and it will effect late night

mobile shopping apps may be convenient but regulators are warning about policies on privacy and payment. the federal trade commission released a report on 121 shopping apps. they say most offer privacy policies but they include little information about data sharing. they might say it will be used to improve their user experience without saying exactly how. >> looked closer at the

tonight 2 investigates takes a look at the safety of

temporary thrill rides, the main attractions at county fairs. the state fined one company more than $100,000 for safety violations and that fine prompted 2 investigates to take a look add that company and the other -- that company and others. ktvu's eric rasmussen is here now with what our investigation revealed. >> reporter: that company appeared more than any other when 2 investigates obtained reports on injuries on rides over the last decade. >> reporter: electric shock, a fracture, they are just some of the details in a new database from reports of serious injuries and deaths involving temporary rides in california since 2001. >> he panicked and got scared. >> a six-year-old died when he fell from the giant wheel operated by butler amusement in

2006. butler was not fined fined for that incident but the company appeared in the database 20 times. more than any other operator. on the whacky worm in 2010 they found a broken chain was hanging from the track and in the path of the train. two people suffered bumps on their heads. then 2 more accidents involving butler rides on the same day at the fair in 2012. on the evolution ride a woman's thumb crushed. investigators said the operator slammed the outside cage down while they were loading the ride. on the spin out the state says one of the rides outriggers had been moved and wood blocking was used causing a portion of it to hit the deck. >> it was a tough year. you know. >> that was the chief

operations officer two years ago. 2013 brought more trouble for the company. $100,000 in fines for serious willful violations at the fresno fair. among them all 12 bolts holding the wheel were missing. >> reporter: a man who answered the question last month declined to comment on any of the comments but said the company operates in 125 locations a year. >> the more rides you have the more people you have riding them, the more flew put you have -- threw put you have, you increase the chance of an incident. sheep an ride inspector. >> reporter: is there a expectation he should be better versed in dealing with safety? >> i think we hold everyone to the same standard. regardless of size. a one man operation versus running 100 rides like butler,

a new development involving the war in gaza. israel and hamas agreed to a 72 hour cease fire. this one set to begin 5 hours from now. it was brokered by egypt and under the truce no military action of any kind is allowed. food and medical supplies will be brought in to gaza where 1900 people have been killed. 67 israelis have also died. most of them soldiers. nationwide data breach at the p.f. chang's chain may have compromised credit of some people. it happened at 33 locations across the country, including the p.f. chang's in palo alto. the company sent out an e-mail today updating customers.
