a car dealership. good afternoon. i'm tori campbell a woman with a history of trying to sneak onto flights at san francisco international airport is under arrest after successfully sneaking through security in san jose and getting on a plane without a ticket. this is now the second stowaway incident at san jose international airport. janine de la vega just spoke with the bay area congressman concerned about security there and joyce us live. >> reporter: good afternoon, tori. congressman eric swalwell he's on the house committee for homeland security and he says he's freighted this happened in san jose. he thinks that people should be confident that appropriate security measures are being taken. he calls this an april parent failure. 62-year-old marilyn hartman was able to blend into passengers

inside terminal b and get through the security checkpoint without a ticket. authorities tell us she was behind a family presenting their documents and snuck around the agent as they were distracted. >> that was not a security breach. >> reporter: airport officials say the public was not compromised because hartman was still seened for items. eric swallwell disagrees. >> any time an unknown passenger gets onto an airplane that is as far i'm concern a breach. >> reporter: swalllwell revealed how she was able to get through the gate without showing a boarding pass. >> she went to alaska airlines gate as well, and was turned away there. she found a family at the southwest airlines gate and

kind of pulled the same move. >> reporter: the airport is investigating whether there was a breakdown in communication with security procedures. specifically were other airlines alerted about hartman's fimpt attempt to -- first attempt to board a plane. she made it all the way to los angeles. while some got off the plane, others stayed on to go to phoenix. southwest did a head count and realized there were too many people on board. >> we're working with our partners to support them in their investigation so we can make sure that a situation such as this does not happen again. >> reporter: hartman has repeatedly tried to sneak on flights at sfo. she's been arrested four times after trying to board a flight to hawaii without a valid boarding pass. the tsa says it has made minor modifications to the area where any check documents. southwest airplanes says it is

investigating. janine de la vega, ktvu channel 2 news. of a more than a year of -- after more than a year of contentious negotiation, a deal was reached to keep the as in oakland. this morning, the oakland alameda county coliseum authority gave the green light to a ten-year lease agreement at the coliseum. the deal includes and escape clause that allows the team to leave after four years and the as have previously threatened to move out of oakland without a new stadium. but the owner says it's likely they will stay put. >> i haven't had any change of heart. i've always loved oakland. i love hour fans. but we also have to have a new venue. it's a matter of where we can move the venue. >> we have a possibility of keeping the as here under the agreement for ten years but there is a good chance depending upon how things happen we could have them here indefinitely going forward.

>> this new lease deal includes a new $10 million scoreboard that will be installed by next season. an alert employee heading to work spotted a fire early this morning at a san jose senior living complex. the fire was reported just before 5:00 a.m. at aria willow glen living facility. the fire was spotted by an employee of the senior center driving into work. >> saw smoke. but i thought it was only from far away. i went around it. it was in the middle. i went in and called. >> there were no injuries reported. nobody was evacuated. an initial investigation shows the fire started in the attic and may have been electrical. the chp has arrested one man for a spectacular early- morning accident. christien kafton is live in concord where a man drove his honda off the road and into a car lot. you have new information on the

driver? >> reporter: yes we've learned the name of the person involved, he was arrested for dui. they say he missed the curve from the offramp and slammed his car into the cars here at this infiniti car lot. [horn honking] >> reporter: a blaring horn just off interstate 680 at the burnest yeaf onramp. the driver 24-year-old wuana, oh from oakland drove his honda right off the offramp. >> it looks like he probably got air here. this is almost a ramp. >> reporter: and smashed into two cars at niello. >> goes airborne, goes through the sign, goes through the fence and collides with two new vehicles. >> reporter: officers arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence. he was in a contra costa county jail today. >> i don't know whether it was just blatantly obvious at the time or if he admitted to drinking. but he was definitely placed

under arrest for dui. >> reporter: this morning, workers at the infiniti dealership said this is not the first car that wound up on their lot unexpectedly. >> this is, i think, the third one that i know where they came through the fence and landed on cars. this is nothing compared to cars we've had smashed. >> reporter: workers here said accidents here are so common counting how many cars skidded out of control almost became a game. >> i've had almost 15 spinoffs. i've tracked. it ways a big deal for us -- was a big deal for us to laugh. you hear the skid marks and stand up and see them twirling around. >> reporter: not all of those spinouts caused this kind of damage. workers here at the infiniti dealership say things have gotten better here since caltrans came along and put the signs up and roughed up the road so cars get better traction. no word when this man will be

in court who caused the accident. christien kafton, ktvu channel 2 news. caltrans workers has suspended work in honor of a coworker killed on the job. around 11:00 a.m., a nine- person crew was working alongside southbound 101 in redwood city. the chp says that's when a woman in a black mercedes veered off the highway, hitting 24-year-old mark santos and 63- year-old jimmy lee ballard. santos died at the scene. ballard is in the hospital with major injuries. santos was part of a job train crew under contract with caltrans. the program helps people transition from poverty in prison by giving them the training they need for a better life. it's absolutely eventual that people have an option and have the opportunity to get the work experience and to get the training that they need to be able to have a second chance and that's what's so devastating about what happened

today. >> the woman driving the car was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. the chp is looking into whether drugs, alcohol or a medical condition caused her to veer so far off the road. >> the fbi is investigating the vandalism of a family-owned grocery store in berkeley. these are pictures of the broken windows at star grocery on claremont avenue. it happened early sunday on july 27th. the fbi says a posting on a website claimed the grocery was targeted by an animal rights activist because it sells meat. damages are estimated at $1300. websites that publish mugshots and charge people to remove them may soon face legal sanctions here in california. this after the state unanimously approved a measure that would make it a crime for websites to charge to remove, correct or modify mugshots. the legislation is heading to the governor's desk. at least 11 other states have

introduced similar measures. jerry hill says this mugshot scheme amounts to extortion. south bay lawmakers and law enforcement spoke out today on the importance of keeping body armor out of the wrong hands. mike honda introduced a new bill called the responsible body armor possession act. he said criminals gaining access to this armor is alarming. >> there's nothing more dangerous than an unstoppable well-armored shooting. >> this would ban the sale, purchase, use or possession of enhanced military grade armor who is not a member of law enforcement or active duty military. it's being called one of the biggest data breaches ever after personal user names and password of more than $1

a second american aide worker with ebola is now back in the u.s. from west africa. 59-year-old nancy writebol was flown into atlanta yesterday where she and her colleague, dr. kent brantly, are being treated with an experimental drug. the world health organization says the death toll has risen to 932 in guinea, liberia and sierra leone. and today, health officials in sierra leone say they are unable to contain the virus. nigeria is also reporting its first ebola death. president obama offered his support during a summit for african leaders. >> the united states and our international partners will continue to do whatever we can to help our african partners respond to this crisis and stand with the people of guinea, liberia and sierra leone.

>> health experts say there's no significant risk to the u.s. people flying in from those countries will be screened. ebola kills 90% of the people who get sick. it could be you one of the biggest data breaches in history. a firm says russian hackers stole over a billion user names and password. kyla campbell explains why you might not know if you have been impacted. >> it may be time to change your online information again. russian hackers have shoelen 1.2 billion password. the new york times first reported the heist saying it affects 420,000 websites. the russian hackers also confiscated 5million e-mail addresses. now the crook can use to this send spam mail or carry out other crimes. we might not find out which websites were broken into. the security firm that discovered the breach is not revealing that information due

to nondisclesh tour agreement -- disclosure agreements. authorities believe a man wanted for a murder in san bonito county may be holing a former girlfriend hostage. a nationwide alert has been issued for this man. hollister police say they will go anywhere to bring him to justice. he's accused of a drive-by shooting friday night that killed 19-year-old ariana. she was apparently an unintended victim. investigators consider him armed and dangerous. they believe 19-year-old vanessa flores was with him at the time. shooting and may be with him against her will. >> i love you, honey. be strong. we're waiting for your return. i know god will bring you back. >> flores's mother said her daughter recently ended an abusive relationship with him. flores graduated from high school and was working at kmart and had dreams of serving her country in the military.

morgan hill police caught a burglary suspect red handed. he's in custody. officers found him burglarizing a home on murphy springs drive yesterday morning. with the help of a police dog, they convinced him to sur remember den. he -- surrender. he had property stolen from other burglaries at the time. tonight's music most powerful couple will wrap up their u.s. tour with a second show in san francisco. but for some fans who attended last night's beyonce and jz concert, it ended with an unwell kemmed surprise -- unwelcomed surprise. nine cars had their windows broken. it's not clear if anything was taken from the cars. many people from all over san francisco reported being able to hear last night's show. on twitter, people in potrero

hill, noe valley and balboa park all said the entire show came in loud and clear. live nation, the concert's organizer, issued an apology to neighbors and says, we worked through the night and will continue today to make adjustments to remedy this for tonight's show. tonight's show begins at 8:00 and again, it's the final show of the on the run tour. if last night's show is any indication, it should last for two and a half hours. many people missed the concert because of a bomb threat that shut down the transbay tube. the west oakland b.a.r.t. station was evacuated. police called in a bomb squad after receiving a call about a bomb in a bus parked under the tracks. the bomb squad searched the bus but did not find anything. the shutdown kept thousands of commuters from crossing the bay until about 9:30 p.m. and that was the third time in two weeks that b.a.r.t. trains have been stopped due to a bomb threat. there are new questions

about the long-term durability of the new eastern span of the bay bridge. concord state's senator is asking cau ma law harris -- kamala harris to launch a criminal investigation. during a hearing yesterday, some witnesses accused caltrans managers of directing inspectors to ignore serious welding issues in china when sections of the span were being made. the state's transportation secretary also testified that he ordered the chp to investigate allegations that bridge officials retaliated against engineers who criticized construction of the span. if you are a night owl and don't wake up until 10:00, 11:00, you might have missed some of the rain. we did have some from 2:00 until 6:00, 7:00 in the morning. it was cloudy and now it's mostly sunny and man is it warming up fast. the humidity is there. yes, it's a warm, muggy pattern. very tropical like. we've had all of the clouds.

the new deal was struck with independent label group her merlin -- one with merlin. the artist will gain access and learn where to tour, who to tour with. apple's newest iphone could be unveiled in over a month. according to recode, the tech giant is set to unveil the iphone 6. it's expected to be faster with a much larger screen. apple will also likely provide more details on the forthcoming version of its operating system.
