a new report shows stockton police fired the bullets that killed a hostage last month. the police chief made the announcement today calling the shooting unavoidable. the 41-year-old misty holt- singh was struck 10 times. misty holt-singh was taken hostage during a robbery at a bank. one of the suspects used misty holt-singh as a human shield after a police chase came to an end. misty holt-singh left behind a husband and two children. woman and her boyfriend were in court for a hearing on the killing of her daughter. napa police found her dead at

minutes ago. the sheriff's office confirm said around noon today therapy called to a home -- that you were called to a home. that home was the home of 63- year-old robin williams who was pronounced dead of a suicide after palms arrived -- paramedics arrived. they are being tight lipped about the investigation right now but a source tells me robin williams was found hanged in the home he shared with his wife susan schneider. the actor became famous in the 1997s for ferguson, missouri -- 1970s for mork and mindy. he was nominated for his performances in good morning vietnam. robin williams has ties to the bay area. he went to redwood high school and studied at the college of marine and lived in san francisco where he made

someone commed 911. -- call 911. they found a man stabbed and a woman injured. the man later died at the hospital. police arrested a young man found a few blocks away. neighbors say it is the couple's son who was in custody. the 55-year-old man and his wife owned the home and lived there for a year. >> they seemed normal. >> reporter: he remembers the family at their previous home. he says the son kept to himself. he says the father did not appear to be an aggressive man. >> came on strong, their husband saw this and he came out, he was protecting her, he seemed reasonable to me. he was -- we -- we worked it out. >> reporter: the district attorney says it has yet to receive the case. a spokesperson said the man

tonight 2 investigates finds out what is fueling frustrations at gas pumps in the bay area. drivers are making complaints and ktvu's eric rasmussen is here now with the results of the investigation and what is being done to make sure you get what you pay for. >> reporter: we found the majority of complaints come down to accuracy but not everybody knows where to turn if they think the gas they paid for isn't what they received. >> reporter: with gas prices still hovering around $4 a gallon in the bay area, there are plenty of people who feel just like him. >> too high. too high. >> reporter: he commutes from

antioch to emeryville every day. >> reporter: he is not alone. we compiled a list of 357 gas station complaints. based on information obtained from all 9 bay area counties. on this day he is checking out a station in belmont where a customer thought he pumped less than what he paid for. the process involving pumping gas into this device that measures the fuel. >> they are actually getting the full 5 gallons. actually got a tiny bit more than he was paying for. >> not so at this gas station. based on a customer complaint they found meter creep. >> the pump is shut off but the

meter keeps going. it creeps. >> reporter: in this case inspectors say the meters crept 30 cents. the owner says the problem was corrected and the customer got his money back. inspectors rarely find a gas station that intentionally manipulated pumps. >> it is issues with the equipment itself. >> reporter: inspectors say there are a few things you can do, make sure the seal on the pump is up to date and then try pumping exactly a gallon of gas. >> as prices went up so did the complaints. >> he is the sealer of weights and measures. his inspectors checked out 102 complaints. more than any other county since last year.
