cleared. >> martin's lawyer says the veteran teacher doesn't deny touching his students but says the contact was not molestation. the 46-year-old martin is still in jail at least until a hearing that is set for september 8th. a man accused in a concord dui crash that killed a 23-year- old woman and one-year-old daughter. prosecutors say she was under the influence and driving without a license in june when he reported crossed the center line on a two-lane bridge and crashed right into lorana dominguez and her baby daughter.

eric palmer was in a courtroom yesterday but his arraignment was postponed. palmer will be assigned a public defender and enter airplay today. police in san leandro have released surveillance photos of four people wanted in connection to this week's shooting at bay area fall. police say they are looking for two men and two women all 18-25 years old. one of the men and one of the women have multiple tattoos. the shooting happened monday morning in one of the parking lots. the shooter followed the victim there. that opinion got away in a silver or gray suv with three other people. the victim is expected to survive. san francisco pub like schoolteachers appear to be closer to authorizing a strike.

union members say they haven't been able to reach a new contract for the san francisco unified school district despite months of negotiations. last night teachers held the first of two strike. they are struggling to afford the high cost of living in the bay area. >> it has been five years since teachers have had a raise. and it has been eight years since our professionals have had a raise. their hours have been cut. >> now the teachers want a 21% pay raise over three years. the school district so far is offering 8.25%. at a public terror the project includes 18,000 seat arena. two 160-foot office buildings and under ground parking lot

it's a partly cloudy day. let's outline the pattern in store for your friday. the system that brought us the cooler weather is pooling farther away. ridge of high pressure building in some. so we have the low clouds and the fog out there. but the marin layer not quite as thick. it's a little shallower. when we get the ridge of high pressure pinching down and compressing, we tend to get a little bit of fog. you may find some patchy fog out there this morning. the warmer air again pushing it closer to the ground and that is why it tends to look a little thicker in some areas. haven't had any reports or complaints about thick fog but it could be out there. a few patches at the very least. 5 in concord. 59 in antioch. the on shore breeze will pull back some. and for the afternoon temperatures will be climbing a little higher than yesterday for the afternoon in some

treadmill to allow the whales some more exercise. sea world's attendance has been down since the release of the documentary black fish which criticized the practice of keeping orcas in captivity. two investigates has uncovered a big problem with the billing process in san francisco. of the almost million and a half tickets issued last year more than 10,000 went to collections because of what is called a make mismatch. that is when vehicle information entered on the ticket doesn't match dmv records. now the agency official says a letter is sent out alerting the driver that they have a ticket and the information could be incorrect. the drivers are claiming that is not the case. in fact, they say the letter appears to be an aggressive collection demand for a delinquent debt. >> here is a ticket that is not mine that you have to pay.

still a lot of green at this hour. hopefully on this friday we will have a light commute. let's go back to the desk. the memories on the final act at candle stick park will be music and a big traffic mess. alex savidge is live at the candle stick park right now to tell us about the problems out there music fans face trying to get to candle stick last night. >> reporter: good morning, to you. a lot of people had tickets to last nights concert but they never even made it here and they missed the show all together. they were caught in an unbelievable traffic mess last night. what some people describe as historic. some of them forced to listen from their cars as the concert got under way. some people took public transportation. that wasn't any better. some people were on muni buses for two hours last night trying to get here. because so many people were caught in this backup, sir paul

mccartney went on an hour later at 9:00 last night. he played a 2.5 hour set more than 30 songs. and told the people that he did make it inside he couple back here to help close down the stick in style. and fans say it was an emotional night. >> what a way to end candle stick park. i grew up here and went to giants games, 49er games. i of course missed their concert. i wasn't quite old enough. he is a class act all the way. >> reporter: many people took to twitter.

food, and an inside look at the stadium. just go to ktvu.com and click on hot topics. it may not be -- someone has been dumping boxes of cats at a marin county animal shelter. brian flores is live to help us see the video. >> reporter: shelter officials wanted the media to know about this. not to get the people in trouble but find the people responsible and offer assistance because of concerns of over breeding of these cats and kittens. they say they received more than 100 cats within the past 1 months and believe it's from the same people. i want to go to surveillance video after leaving the cats and kittens in the back shelter and one person rings the

doorbell and both of the people take off. in this case 24 cats and kittens were dropped off. the shelter has seen an influx of 100. almost all the cats are black and white tuxedo cats and it appears they are related. they are busy -- they also have double the amount of cats it normally has. coming up on mornings on 2 if you are interested in providing a home for one of these cats, we'll tell you how the shelter will help you out. brian flores ktvu channel 2 news. now more about california's drought. water companies required to notify customers of mandatory water use restrictions and possible fines. they made that retirement in

response to the governors drought approximate. companies need to directly notify customers of the restrictions within the next 20 days. according to the san jose mercury news the public utilities commission approved a 15% increase in monthly water bills through the end of the year. there is another unspecified increase planned for 2015. now this rate hike effects almost one million customers. they will raise nearly $47 million in extra revenue through the higher rates. two firefighters have been hurt while battling a wild fire. about 70-acres have burned so far since that fire started yesterday afternoon. it's now just about 5% contained.

the roads in the area including highway 39 are closed. no homes are threatened at this time a northern california top also trying to cope with heavy smoke from several wild fires. lightning sparked 20 separate fires. more than 1500 acres have burned choking the town with smoke. firefighters say unusually dry brush from the drought is complicating efforts to fight the fires. the fires are just about 10% contained. time is 6:40. what was supposed to be a day of fun turned tragic. the search for witnesses as investigators try to piece together the cause of a deadly boat accident. >> we have new information regarding the deadly police shooting of a woman that was armed with a drill. we will show you cell phone video of that police exchange in san jose. and we will also hear what one of her friends is saying. >> good morning. we are still looking at astrut in the south bay that is a

happening right now at ferguson, missouri the police chief of ferguson, missouri is

holding a news conference announcing the name of the police officer who shot and killed an unarmed teenager last saturday. let's listen in. >> i won't be taking any questions here. i want -- [ inaudible ] so i just want to give you a little timeline of what happened on august 9th. from 11:48 to noon the officer involved in a shooting was on a sick call. there was an ambulance present. at 11:51 there was a 911 call from a convenience store nearby. not this one. 11:52 dispatch gave the description of a robbery suspect over the radio. a different officer arrived at the store where the strong arm robbery occurred. a further description, more detail was given over the radio

and stated the officer was walking -- the suspect was walking toward quick trip. our officer left the sick call. he encountered -- sorry. at 12:01 p.m. our officer encountered michael brown. at 12:04 a second officer arrived on scene. a at 12:05 a supervisor was dispatched to the scene. there has been some questions about the calling of an ambulance, the ambulance that was at the sick case on glen ark was coming by immediately poll lowing the shooting and they did respond to assess michael brown. so i'm going to have some police officers that will be

handing out packets that all the information that was requested concerning the robbery. we will give those packets first of all to those agencies that have made the sunshine request and then anybody else who wants them i think we have enough to give out. we've got quite a few. sorry. the officer that was involved in the shooting of michael brown was darren wilson. he's been a police officer for six years that has had no disciplinary action taken against him. he was treated for injuries which occurred on saturday. again i won't be taking any questions at this time but the packets will billion handed out by my officers. the name is darren d-a-r-r-e-n

wilson. w-i-l-s-o-n. and thank you. >> all right we are listening in live to this news conference in ferguson, missouri. this is the police chief thomas jackson who sounds a bit nervous as he delivers some information and the big piece of information was the officer's name involved in the shooting of michael brown. and he did say the officer has been an officer for six years. no disciplinary action. he talked about a robbery at a convenient store nearby that the officer was responding to. did not say if michael brown was in fact the robbery suspect but there is a whole packet being distributed to everybody there at that press conference. >> the big part of this news conference he identified as the officer as officer darren wilson. a six-year police officer. he has nothing on his record of

any blemishes. he said he was injured in the confrontation with michael brown. in the past they did not want to release the information on who that officer was because of fear for his safety. but again just moments ago and you just saw it right here, they announced the name of the officer in ferguson, missouri as darren wilson. a six-year police department veteran. >> and again they are handing out packets with more information. we will get that information as well. time is 6:48. there is new information about a police shooting in san jose where a 19-year-old woman was killed. an officer was called to the home because the woman said she was going to kill her family. janine de la vega is joining us from san jose with cell phone of this confrontation. >> reporter: this police shooting was witnessed by several people in this neighborhood. now one man captured some of this video of the exchange on his cell phone and in it you

can hear officers tell the woman to drop what was in her hand several times and to stop coming closer. now in this cell phone video, you can see the 19-year-old woman in front of a home carrying what officers thought was a weapon. even pointing it several times directly at them. police initially responded here around 10:30 yesterday morning after getting a call saying she was going to kill her family with an assault weapon. but police say she would not put the object down in her hand. you can hear officers saying stop right there. that is when officer wakana who's been on the police force for 13 years fired one fatal round. we're not showing it but in the video you can see the woman lying on the ground. police say the officer feared for her safety and the safety of the public. authorities later determined the weapon was this cordless drill painted all black.
