forgettable show for the people who were able to make it inside. but it was a night to forget for a lot of people who got stuck in a traffic mess on their way to candlestick park last night. a lot of people who had tickets to the concert never even made it inside for the show. a lot of frustrated music fans, they crawled along clogged streets near the stadium last night for hours. some of them. many were forced to listen from their cars as the concert got underway. public transportation wasn't a much better option. the muni ride took more than two hours in some cases. that's what we're told. because so many people were caught in the backup, mccartney went on about an hour late at 9:00. he played a two and a half-hour set, more than 30 songs. he told the folks who made it in inside he came back to san francisco because he wanted to help send the stick off in style. people who watched the final event here at the stadium say they were in awe. >> it was incredible because paul has such depth and range

and he brought you all the way back to when they opened the stadium and -- until right now. it was supercool. >> reporter: a lot of people took to twitter last night to vent about the traffic. one woman tweeted this out while stuck in the backup, she said, missing paul mccartney. this traffic is insane. won't miss this candlestick. some fans say they were turned away from the stadium once they got to the parking lot. they were told by attendants the lots were full. some of those people are complaining a lot of folks who didn't have tickets to the show were allowed to park and tailgate during the concert. we're live this morning at candlestick park in san francisco, alex savidge, ktvu channel 2 news. >> all right, alex. 7:06. the richmond b.a.r.t. station is open this morning after being shut dunn for three hours because of a suspicious package. it was found on an amtrak platform near the tracks at 7:30. while the bomb squad checked it

out, a.c. transit buses carried commuters between the el cerrito and richmond stations. three hours later, the richmond b.a.r.t. station reopened. there was no bomb. the package was detonated safely. happening today a man accused in a dui crash in concord that killed a 23-year- old woman and her 1-year-old daughter, he's due in court. 24-year-old gerardohakeen is to be charged with murder, gross vehicular manslaughter, child abuse and dui. prosecutors say he was under the influence and driving without a license back in june when he reportedly crossed the center line on a two-lane bridge and crossed into loreno dominguez and her baby daughter. emhad two previous dui arrests as well as outstanding warrants at the time. the man accused of randomly stabbing a woman on an a.c. transit bus in berkeley, he's due back in court this morning. yesterday, 24-year-old air eric pauler was in a cubical on the

side of an alameda county courtroom as his arraignment was postponed. well, today, palmer is expected to be assigned a public defender and also enter a plea. palmer is accused of stabbing the woman on the bus monday night. she was seriously hurt but she is expected to recover. now, ktvu will be at that hearing. we'll bring you all of the details on the ktvu channel 2 news at 5:00 and 6:00 tonight. 7:08. the marin humane society is hoping to identify the people who have dumped hundreds of cats at the shelter in the past few months. ktvu's brian flores is live there now with surveillance video of the people responsible and the reason shelter officials want to find them. good morning, brian. >> reporter: good morning. well, the marin humane society wanted to get the word out about this not to get the people responsible in trouble but to really offer assistance because of concern of overbreeding of these kittens and cats and that it's okay to come forward. the shelter has received more than 100 cats in the past 18

months. they believe it's from the same people. want to go to surveillance video of the people dropping off boxes of cats and kittens early monday morning. the video shows two people driving a white suv dropping off the boxes of cats and kittens and then moments later, one person then rings the doorbell at the after-hours receiving door near the back of the shelter as well. in this case, about 24 cats and kittens were dropped off. but the shelter has seen an influx of about 100 in the past 18 months. even though there is video, it is tough to see a license plate which is why they are getting the word out this morning. the marin humane society says almost all of the cats here are black and white. it appears they are related. shelter officials say they were able to reunite the momma cat with the kittens but that precious bonding time was lost. the humane society says they are busy vaccinating, spaying, neutering, and microchipping. they believe the same people have dropped off cats three previous times in the past year

and a half. again, the marin humane society said they will not be in trouble they want people to contact them so they can gather more information and provide assistance. the shelter says they now have double the amount of cats it normally has. it's important to help the cats and kittens find new homes. in an etch art to do that, they are waiving the adoption fees for the whole month of august. brian flores, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you, brian. 7:10. the napa county sheriff's office would like to hear from anyone who witnessed a deadly boating accident on lake berryessa. 49-year-old roger winslow was driving this boat on saturday when it suddenly lurched from side to side. he was thrown overboard. one of the two people on the boat jumped into the water to help him but winslow disappeared. police believe he was hit by a propeller. drivers searched sunday and monday with no luck. they now are planning to use a row battic desize -- robotic device to search the bottom of

the lake. city leaders in rohnert park approved the first superwalmart. it will be on redwood drive. this decision will allow the walmart to expand into a 170,000-square foot store that sells groceries. critics include the sierra club. they sued over the expansion in 2011. labor rights groups are opposing it. supporters say it will create at least 85 jobs at the new supercenter and also bring in sales tax for the city. we're getting the first look at the drawings for the proposed new home of the golden state warriors. yesterday, at a public hearing, the warriors released this design of the arena and the surrounding area in san francisco's mission bay neighborhood. the billion-dollar privately financed project includes an 18,000-seat arena, two 160-foot tall office buildings and and underground parking lot for 700 cars. the warriors hope this new

darren wilson. thank you. i will see you -- >> new this morning, you saw it live about a half-hour ago here on ktvu, the police chief of ferguson, missouri just revealing the name of the officer who shot and killed this unarmed teenager. the announcement comes after a week of mounting pressure and violent demonstrations in the st. louis suburb. out reporter is live in ferguson with this morning's long anticipated announcement. >> reporter: good morning. i can tell you the name of that officer is officer darren wilson, a six-year member of the police force here in ferguson, missouri. we know he has no disciplinary action pending against him according to the police chief, thomas jackson. i'm going through the notes

here from the press conference. we can confirm not only the police officer's identity but also right now the details that we're trying to sort through. the first mex of what was a robbery -- mention of what was a robbery that happened not far -- in the region here. we do know there -- according to the police chief, there was an individual seen on camera, on surveillance video, that was taking part in the robbery before the shooting saturday afternoon. according to the information that we're going through right now, there seems to be a potential, again, a potential link here between the robbery and 18-year-old michael brown, as we speak. we're going through the information. we can tell you the name of that police officer. several members of the community have been asking for that information. we now know he's, in fact, a six-year member of the force. darren wilson. the police chief earlier also speaking about what that officer is experiencing. i want you to listen in briefly here, tori, to that particular part of the interview with the

police chief. >> the officer involved in the shooting with michael brown was darren wilson. he's been a police officer for six years, has had no disciplinary action taken against him. he was treated for injuries, which occurred on saturday. >> reporter: and again, just hearing from tom jackson here and the very latest on his police officer who reportedly fired the shots that fatally wounded 18-year-old thomas brown, real quick, too, i do want to go over a quick time line released by the police chief. chief jackson here mentioning that robbery took place at about 11:30, shortly before 11:30 saturday morning, about 30 minutes after that, this police officer, officer wilson, kame into contact with brown and at one point a confrontation ensued, shots were displayed. two minutes later, backup arrived. we're trying to find out what happened during those first few

moments. as you might imagine, this part of town lining up for activity. it was relatively quiet after several peaceful protests. we're seeing more demonstrators show up at the police department. it's unclear how the community will be receiving this brand- new information just released by the police chief here in ferguson. tori? >> all right. polo sandoval, thank you. a woman in critical condition after drinking what was supposed to be sweet tea at a dickey's restaurant in salt lake city. according to an attorney for the 67-year-old grandmother, she took one sip of the drink, spit it out and then turned to her husband and said i think i just drafnl acid. a restaurant employee dumped an victim cleaner meant for degreesing deep-fryers into the tea after mistaking it for sugar. we're told in one else dravl the tea and it was dumped out

after that incident. stanford university is lacking for kids to -- looking for kids to participate in an obesity study where they will get chocolate milk shakes. researchers want to know how the brabs of children between the ages of 4 and 8 react to the ice cream drinks. children will have their brains scanned by an mri while looking at a picture of a chocolate milk shake. they will get a few drops of it in their mouth. researchers are hoping to use the information to prevent childhood obesity. 7:19. let's bring sal back. you feel like friday light even on highway 24. >> looks pretty good. you know, it doesn't look bad. let's go right to it and show you the live picture. the devices here, give us the drive time between pleasant hill road and the caldecott tunnel. nine minutes, average speed above 60 miles an hour. i will take that. not a bad commute. you get to the bay bridge, there is a little bit of waiting. but things have become better as you drive through. traffic is not all that bad on

iraqi prime minister nouri al-maliki has agreed to step down. the country's newly elected president named a new prime minister earlier this week. initially al-maliki refused to step aside but now in a televised speech he's revining for the good of the country -- resigning for the good of the country and chose the man for the new prime minister. the u.s. encouraged him to step down to make way for a new, more inclusive government. the first wave of national guard troops called up by rick perry have arrived at the bored. they are part of -- border. they are part of 1,000 to help with security. perry said they are needed because border patrol agents are overwhelmed dealing with a

flood of central american immigrants crossing the border in recent months. it's estimated the deployment will cost $12 million a month. governor perry has said the federal government should cover the costs. 7:24. 2 investigates has uncovered a systemic problem with parking tickets in san francisco. now, the almost 1.5 million tickets issued in san francisco last year, more than 10,000 went to collections because of what is called a mismatch. that's when the vehicle information that's put on the ticket doesn't match dmv records. parking officials say a letter is then sent out alerting the driver of a citation and that the information could be incorrect. well, drivers claim that's not the case. in fact, they say the letter looks like an aggressive collection demand for a delinquent debt. >> here is a ticket. that's not mine that you have to pay. you are guilty until proven innocent. >> out of that many citations, we make mistakes.

or 880 and you have fast track, this is about a ten-minute drive time coming into san francisco on the bridge. no problems going the other way. as we look at the 880 freeway here, san leandro to hayward, continuing down to fremont, that's also noticeably lighter. 580, a little bit of slow traffic as you drive from the altamont pass into hayward. there's been a couple of minor crashes but it does get better by the time you reach dublin. back to the desk. >> all right, sal. we have new information about the police shooting in san jose that killed a 19-year- old woman. police were called to a home on blossom hill road because a woman said she was going to kill her family. janine de la vega is joining us live now. >> reporter: in an e-mail that we received from a family friend, it describe, the 19- year-old woman who was shot and killed by police as fun-loving and somebody who liked to joke around. the friend is upset that the

officer didn't use a taser. this all happened in front of this home that you see right here behind me on blossom hill. in this video shot by a neighbor, you can see the woman in front of a home carrying what officers say they thought was a weapon. it turned out to be this drill painted all black. at the time, officers couldn't tell. they initially responded here at around 10:30 yesterday morning after getting a call that the woman was going to kill her family with an uzi assault weapon but the video shows the woman pointth object at officers -- pointing the object at officers several times. police asked her to put it down numerous times and tell her to stop as she draws closer. [ sound of gunfire ] >> reporter: that's when officer wakana okuma, who has been on the police force for 13 years, fired one fatal round. police say the officer feared for her safety and the safety of the public. the man didn't want to be

identified, the one who gave us that video, but he wanted to share it to see how the drill could have been mistaken for a gun. he says police gave the woman ample warning before they opened fire. in an e-mail sent to ktvu, a friend tells us that the woman had a bipolar disorder and said "she often didn't seem to comprehend the seriousness of some of the things she did and said, often making jokes that seemed rather serious to us. i can see in this situation playing around with this drill and not fully comprehending how her joke would be perceived by the cops." the woman's identity has not been released yet. this is the second officer- involved shooting of the year for san jose police. reporting live from san jose, janine de la vega, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you, janine. well, preparations are underway for the first 49ers' game this weekend at levi stadium. there is a lot of effort going on to avoid the traffic nightmare similar to the one that happened at the stick last night and also all of the

traffic problems that happened during the san jose earthquakes' game at the new stadium earlier this month. the 9ers are rolling out a new and improved plan to accommodate bigger crowds. this sunday's preseason game against the broncos is really another test for the new stadium as they try to smooth things out for the regular season. now, at the earthquakes' game earlier in august, fans experienced parking confusion, traffic jams and long waits for trains. so the team will be adding more parking lots. about another 3,000 parking spaces. more traffic signs and officers to help assist with traffic. we have a special section on our website, dedicated to the new levi stadium in santa clara. it's information on parking food, and an inside look at the stadium. just go to ktvu.com and click on hot topics. now, as 49ers' quarterback collin kaepernick prepares to take the field, he's talking about criticism. he signed a 60-year, $126 million contract extension in

turn it on and activate it. keep it on in the home when you are sleeping at night. if you are able to get video surveillance, it's a great deterrent. >> one haste has been made in one of the home invasions. police are searching for four other suspects. >> two men are in jail this morning. they are accused of beating another man with a metal flashlight. it happened sunday on tosso street in palo alto. police say 20-year-old logan kareki is accused of repeatedly beating the victim on the head with a metal flashlight. that victim fought back and tried to escape. he was treated at a hospital for moderate hark-- headaches. christopher snyder is accused of driving logan koreckya way from the scene. one of the fbi agents that worked on the case of leland yee was removed from the investigation because of his

own financial misconduct. the agent posed as an atlanta businessman and spent tens of thousands of dollars as part of the undercover operation. court papers say the agent was being investigated for misconduct in late 2012 and early 2013. it appears that's when he was removed from the case. yee is accused of soliciting bribes and campaign contributions in exchanges for political favors. a south bay nanny known as mr. johnny has pled guilty to nine counts of child molestation and one counsel of child porn. the plea comes as 41-year-old john walker was scheduled to go to dream next week -- trial next week. prosecutors say he molested at least eight children in his care while working as a nanny at a home in campbell. police say the victims range in age from 9 to 15 years old. 7:38. now to our coverage of california's drought. water companies now required to notify customers of the mandatory water use

restrictions and possible crimes. the california public utilities commission made that requirement in response to the governor's proclamation. the violations can lead to fines up to $500. the cpuc says companies need to directly notify customers of specific instructions within the next 20 days. san jose water customers you are about to get hit with a rate hike. according to the mercury news, the public utilities commission approved a 15% increase in monthly water bills through the end of the year. there's a another unspecified increase planned for 2015. now, this rate height affects almost a million customers. utility is set to raise almost $47 million in extra revenue through these higher rates. nascar has added a new safety rule in the wake of last week's deadly crash involving

toneny stewart -- tony stewart. it involves sprint cars on a dirt road separate from nascar. but the drivers cannot approach another driver or a moving vehicle after a crash. nascar says the new rule is a formal reminder of safety guidelines discussed during driver meetings. friends and family gathered in new york yesterday to say their goodbyes to kevin ward, junior, the sprint car racer stewart hit and killed. family and friends wore orange and black were which were the racing colors for ward. balloons were sent off in his memory. and tony stewart's team has announced that stewart will not race at michigan international speedway this weekend. jeff burton will drive for him. stewart who enjoys competing in dirt track races as a hobby has pulled out of another dirt race. no criminal charges have been filed in connection to the case but an investigation continues. 7:40. police in san leandro released

candlestick park but some fans with tickets to the show never got a chance to get inside to hear it. it was the final act at candlestick park. but the fairwell concert turned into a reminder of some of the stick's biggest troubles and why it's going away. alex savidge is live outside of the stadium which is exactly where disgruntled fans found themselves last night. >> reporter: a lot of people couldn't get inside. good morning to you, tori. a lot of people who had tickets to the show never made it here to candlestick park and they missed the concert altogether. they got caught in a backup. it was the kind of traffic jam that some describe as historic. music fans crawled along clogged streets near the stadium for hours. some were forced to listen as the concert began nearby from their cars. public transportation, well, it wasn't really a much better option. we're told the trip on muni took more than two hours in some cases. because there were so many people caught in this backup,

sir paul mccartney, well, he went on an hour late at 9:00 trying to accommodate them. he tried a two and a half hour set. more than 30 songs. he told the folks he wanted to be back here in san francisco to say goodbye to the stick. fans felt it was an emotional night. >> what a way to end candlestick park. i grew up here. and went to giants' games, 49er games. i, of course, missed their concert. i wasn't quite old enough. but what a way to end candlestick park. and he's a class act all the way. >> a great show for those lucky fans who got here on time. many took to twitter to vent about the traffic that led up to the final event here at candlestick park before it's torn down in the coming months. one woman who clearly has a sense of humor tweeted this while caught in the backup. she said i'm never coming to this stadium again. some fans also say that they

dominguez and her baby daughter. he had two previous dui arrests and outstanding warrants at the time. a man accused of stabbing a woman on an a.c. transit bus is due back in court. eric palmer was in a cubical in an alameda county croom when his arraignment -- courtroom when his arraignment was postponed. he's expected to be assigned a public defender today and enter a plea. he's accused of stabbing the woman on the bus monday night. she was seriously hurt but is expected to be recover. ktvu will be there at the hearing. we'll bring you the details on the news at 5:00 and 6:00 tonight. investigators are busy looking for the cause of a fire at a church in san francisco's mission district. firefighters say it started in the attic of the church on 20th street near san carlos just before 3:00 yesterday afternoon. it burned for about an hour before it was brought under control. firefighters say a crew was working on the roof of the church when that fire started. the richmond b.a.r.t.

station is open this morning after being shut down for three hours last night because of a suspicious package. it was found on an amtrak platform near the b.a.r.t. tracks around 7:30 last night. while the bomb squad checked it out, a.c. transit buses carried it between the el cerrito and richmond stations. three hours later, the richmond b.a.r.t. station reopened. there was no bomb. the marin humane society is hoping to identify the people who have dumped hundreds of cats at the shelter there in the past couple of months. ktvu's brian flores is joining us live now and brian, you have surveillance video of the people doing this and the reason the shelter wants to find them. good morning, brian. >> reporter: good morning, dave. i just got off the phone with shelter officials a few moments ago. they want to get the word out about this. not to get the people responsible for doing this in trouble but rather to offer them assistance because of concern of overbreeding, that it's okay to come forward.

the shelter has received more than a hundred cats within the past 18 months and they do believe it's from the same people. we talked about the surveillance video. here it is provided to the marin independent journal of the people dropping off boxes of cats and kittens early monday morning. the video shows two people driving a white suv dropping off the kittens at the back entrance of the sheller. moments later, one woman rings the doorbell at the after-hours receiving door and they take off. in this case, about 24 cats and kittens were drop off. but the shelter has seen an influx of about 100 in the past 1 months. there were -- 18 months. there were 70 in the shelter. even though there's video. it's tough to see a license plate. the marin humane society hopes all of the cats are tuxedo cats. shelter officials say they were able to reunite the momma cat with the kittens but the precious bonding time was lost. they are busy vaccinating,

national guard troops called up by governor rick perry. they've arrived at the border. they are part of a thousand national guard troops helping to guard the border for security. governor perry says they are needed because border patrol agents are overwhelmed dealing with a flood of central american immigrants crossing the border in recent months. it's estimated this deployment will cost about $12 million a month. governor perry has said the federal government should pay the costs. 8:13. the name county sheriff's office would like to hear from anyone who witnessed a deadly boating accident on lake berryessa. 49-year-old roger winslow was driving this boat on saturday when it suddenly lurched from side to side. winslow was thrown overboard. one of two other people overboard jumped into the water to try to help him. winslow disappeared. police believe he was hit by a propeller. divers searched sunday and monday with no luck. they are planning to use a

robotic device to search the lake. city planners in rohnert park approved plans for the first superwalmart center. it will be on redwood drive and the decision will allow the walmart to expand into a 170,000-square foot store that also sells groceries. critics include the sierra club. they sued over expansion in 2011. labor rights groups don't like it either. supporters say the expansion will create at least 85 jobs at the new supercenter and bring in sales tax for the city. 8:14. new this morning, ferguson, missouri police revealed the nail of the officer who shot -- name of the officer who and killed unarmed teenager, michael brown. police protesters say the police -- protesters say the department's reluctance to release the officer's identity was one of the reasons behind the violent demonstrations this week. reporter polo sandoval is live in ferguson with this morning's

long, anticipated announcement. >> reporter: hi, tori. good morning. not only can you see the reaction but you can hear and occasional car driving by honking. the people in ferguson have the answer to one of the many questions. they now know it was officer darren wilson, a six-year veteran of the force who fired the shots, the rounds that killed michael brown, the 18- year-old that was shot and killed on saturday. also from the police chief, the ferguson police chief, tom jackson, a potential game changer. that was the day of the shooting there was a robbery that happened not far from where that shooting happened. it was an individual that walked into a convenience store that actually hit the clerk and made off with some cigars. the police chief, tom jackson said there's video that shows an individual that potentially looks like brown here in this case, so this obviously drawing a potential connection here

between the shooting and the convenience store robbery. i do want to go straight to a portion of that prets conference that happen -- press conference that happened within the last hour and really a breakdown of the time line leading up to the shooting. have a listen. >> further description, more detail was given over the radio and stated the suspect was walking toward quicktrip. aur officer left the call. he encountered at 12:01 p.m., michael brown on canfield drive. at 12:04. a second officer arrived on the scene, immediately following the shooting. >> reporter: now, during that conference, police chief jackson pointed to brown as a suspect in that convenience store robbery that happened just before the shooting. you heard him mention the quicktrip. that's the name of the store where that robbery went down. we do hope to actually see some of that surveillance video that shed some major light on this investigation very soon. we know the investigators are preparing some of this information to be released.

san antonio. seaworld's attendance has been down since the release of the documentary brack fish which criticizes the practice of keeping orcas in captivity. 2 investigates has uncovered a pretty serious problem with parking tickets in citations. in the nearly 1.5 million park tickets issued, more than 10,000 went to collections because of what is called a mismatch. that's when vehicle information entered on the citation does not match dmv records. parking officials say a letter is sent out alerting the driver of a citation and that the information could be incorrect. drivers claim this is not the case. in fact, they say the letter appears to be an aggressive collection demand for a delinquent debt. >> here is a ticket. that's not mine. you have to pay. you are guilty until innocent.

street. it's not a deep slowdown. when you get to the bay bridge, if you are going to san francisco, not very slow. some of the middle lanes crowded. but really a good drive. on the peninsula, the traffic looks good, heading south to san bruno and down to highway 92 and the san mateo bridge is also off to a good start. at 8:31. let's go back to the desk. we have more information on the police shooting in san jose that killed a 19-year-old woman. police were called to the home on blossom hill road. the woman said she was going to kill her family. janine de la vega joining us live now from san jose. you have cell phone video of the confrontation and also what a family friend is saying about the woman who was killed. good morning, janine. >> reporter: good morning. a friend of the woman shot and killed is upset that the officer did not use a taser. another neighbor that we spoke to told us that it was too bad that officers did not have binoculars to see this object she was holding in her hand was a drill, not a gun as they

previously thought. now, cell phone video we obtained shows that police exchange that happened in front of this home here on blossom hill road. in this video shot by a neighbor, you can see the woman in front of a home carrying what officers say they thought was a weapon. it turned out to be this drill. painted all black at the time, officers couldn't tell. they initially responded here at around 10:30 yesterday morning after getting a call saying the woman was going to kill her family with an uzi assault weapon. but the video shows the woman pointing the weapon directly at them. it's faint but you can hear police asking her numerous times to put it down and they tell her to stop as she draws closer. [ sound of gunfire ] >> reporter: that's when officer wakana okuma, who has been the force for 13 years, fired one fatal wound. police say the officer feared for her safety and the safety of the public. the man who gave us the video

didn't want to be identified but wanted to share the video to see how the drill could have been mistaken for a gun. he says police gave the woman ample warning before opening fire. in an e-mail sent to ktvu a friend describes the woman as fun loving and someone who liked to joke. the friend writes "she did have bipolar disorder and in fact one time i called the police because i was worried she might hurt herself but i know her and believe this was not suicide by cop. she often didn't seem to comprehend the seriousness of some of the things she did and said often making jokes that seemed rather serious to us." the woman's identity has not been released. this is the san jose police department's second officer- involved shooting of the year. janine de la vega, ktvu channel 2 news. police in san leandro released surveillance photos of four people, wanted in connection with this week's shooting at the bare fair mall. police are searching for two men and two women, all 18 to 25

years old. according to police, a surveillance video shows an argument inside a shoe store monday morning before that shooting. now, police say the shooter followed the man from the shoe store into the parking lot and then shot him in the leg. the shooter got away in a silver or gray suv with at least three other people. the man who was shot is expected to survive. 8:35. people living in fremont are on high alert this morning following an increase in home- invasion robberies. police say over the past two weeks, there have been three home-invasion robberies. the latest happened tuesday when police say two men targeted a home in the hills above mission san jose. the men broke in, held a couple at gunpoint and stole valuables in a safe. police are recommending people in the area take extra precaution. >> if you have an alarm system, turn it on and activate it, keep it on when you are in the home when you are sleeping at

night. if you are able to get video surveillance. it's a great deterrent. >> one arrest has been made in one of the home invasions but police are still looking for at least four other suspects. one of the undercover fbi agents who worked on the corruption case against leland yee was removed from the investigation because of his own financial misconduct. according to the san jose mercury news, the agent posed as an atlanta businessman and spent tens of thousands of dollars as part of the undercover operation. court papers say the agent was being investigated for misconduct in late 2012 and early 2013. it appears that's when he was removed from the case. yee is accused of soliciting bribes and campaign contributions in exchange for political favors. 8:36. san francisco public schoolteachers appear to be getting close to authorizizing a strike. union members have not been able to reach a new contract with the school district despite months of talks. teachers held the first of two

strike authorization votes last night at washington high school. they say they are struggling to afford the high cost of living here in the bay area. >> it's been five years since teachers have had a raise and it's been eight years since our professionals have had a raise. in fact, their hours have been cut. >> the teachers are asking for a 21% pay raise over three years. the school district is offering 8.5%. to our coverage of california's severe drought. water companies are now required to notify customers of mandatory water use restrictions and potential fines. the california public uties commission made that requirement in response to governor brown's drought proclamation. >> the governor implemented a series of restrictions. violations can result in fines up to $500. the cpuc says companies need to directly notify customers of

the specific restrictions within the next 20 days. san jose water customers are about to get hit with a rate increase. according to the san jose mercury news, the public utilities commission approved a 15% increase in monthly water bills through the end of the year. there's another unspecified increase planned for 2015. this hike affects nearly a million customers. the utility is set to raise nearly $47 million in additional revenue through he's higher rates. well, preparations continue for the first 49ers game this weekend at the new levi stadium. after a lot of complaints came in a couple of weeks ago about traffic problems during the san jose earthquakes' game at the new stadium, the 49ers are rolling out a new and improved plan to help handle even bigger crowds. now, this sunday's preseason game against the broncos, it's another test for the stadium as they try to smooth things out for the regular season. at the earthquakes' game, fans

remember being stuck in horrible traffic and never getting inside to see the show. ktvu's alex savidge joining us live now with the good and the bad from the farewell concert. >> reporter: good morning to you. for the people who got in, it was an unforgettable show. it was a night to forget for a lot of people who got stuck in a traffic mess on their way to candlestick park last night. there were quite a few people who had tickets to the concert but they never even made it inside for the show. frustrated music fans crawled along clogged streets near the stadium for several hours. several rolled down their car windows and listened to the concert. public transportation, that wasn't a much better option. muni ride took more than two hours in some cases because so many people were caught in traffic trying to get to the show. mccartney went on about an hour late at 9:00. he played a two and a half hour set with more than 30 songs.

we talked with one woman from marin county who said it took her four hours to get here. when she got here, the parking lot was full. she turned around and went home. she wants a refund. >> i was very frustrated and i was going with a friend who had never seen the paul mccartney concert before. so i'm really disappointed for her. she was really looking forward to seeing him for the first time. >> a lot of people took to twitter to vent. one woman tweeted this out while stuck in traffic, she said missing paul mccartney. this traffic is insane. won't miss this candlestick. the trip home, it wasn't that much easier. one fan told us it took more than an hour and a half just to get out of the parking lot here. a good show last night. but a lot of frustrated fans with a major backup here near the stadium. we're live this morning at candlestick park in san francisco, alex savidge, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you, alex. a not guilty verdict for a local teacher accused of molesting 14 students but the

case is not over yet. ktvu's pam cook is in the studio with what is next, an emotional reaction from the teacher's wife. good morning. >> reporter: jury acquitted joseph martin on the count counts involving three students but deadlocked on the charges involving the other 11. he's been teaching at woodside elementary school and was accused of inappropriately touching 14 students. he did not deny touching the boys but says the contacts with innocent and was a way to calm his students. martin's wife pregnant with her third child continues to wear his wedding ring and her neck hopes he will be home soon. >> we're prepared to go to another trial. we're prepared to do whatever it takes to do a second round of fighting. he's innocent and we'll keep fighting until his name is cleared. >> the district attorney's office has nod made the decision whether -- has not made the decision to retry him.
