good evening. the toddler's aunt is under arrest for child endangerment after she left the little girl standing in a crosswalk. david spoke with the girl's great grandmother about the pain that arrest is causing the family. >> the family of the toddler killed on the street is reeling from the arrest of the girl's aunt as they prepare for the girl's funeral. >> cinci papa -- cynthia johnson is preparing to bury her great granddaughter. >> dressing her for the last time. it's hard. it's not real. mayana gregory was killed friday night in south of market district. >> i'm not angry at the person, i wish he had done what the law requires him to do, to stop. >> police arrested the girl's

aunt for felony child endangerment. she left her in the crosswalk against oncoming traffic as she went to retrieve the twin brother. >> the girl didn't want to go in the street, the aunt took her out there and pops into the frame to get the boy. that's when the car questions by. >> i can't comprehend her not being more responsible. she should have held them or held here hand. the aunt is held on $250,000 bail. johnsson said the arrest has divided the far family. i didn't see it happening. >> she's scheduled to be arraigned in court on thursday afternoon. reporting live in san francisco. david stevenson. >> the funeral for mayana is

sunday in the mission district. on 17th street. the family says that her funeral is open to the public. park officials have found the body of a man, so far no confirmation is it that of a missing fremont teacher. he was backpacking alone in a rugged part of kings canyon park. he's a second grade teacher is fremont. >> kids would say my teacher, we baked bread today. he did that, the measuring and all that. he was a nature and earth loving kind of guy. >> he's married and as a 5-year- old daughter. a body has been discovered in kings canyon national park.

it is not confirmed if that is gregory muck. new information about a mother and 3-year-old son who died in a fire at a public housing in april. a newly released autopsy report sews ester had drugs in her body when she died. family members filed a claim against the city saying smoke detectors were not working but an attorney for the city said someone in the home dismantled the detectors. a horrible situation on a bay area freeway led to a massive back up. it was a suicide or a crime. john is in hayward where he spoke to a friend of the person who died. >> this is where it started, the industrial parkway overpass

above highway 880. this morning the man went over the railing and on the freeway below. he was hit and killed by a big rig. at first they thought it was a suicide, but now they are not sure. someone may have approached the man and made a threatening gesture, the man went over the railing to escape. at the motel we met a woman who was good friends with the man. she was 25-year-old and known as junior. >> he was a really good person, he didn't deserve what happened. he didn't deserve it at all. i don't think it was a suicide. >> we're interviewing witnesses and at this point we don't have a specific reason why he jumped from the bridge.

>> traffic through hayward was jammed true hours. truck driver who hit the man after he landed was shaken up but otherwise unhurt. happening how to no -- now. demonstrators in oakland to protest the death of michael brown in ferguson mississippi. this -- missouri. this is on broadway a block away from 880. the protesters have marched there from four locations. this looks like at least part if not all of broadway is closed due to this protest. there's a large police presence as you can see. the protesters facing off with police. we're not aware of arrests, the protests have been peaceful. we have a reporter on if scene.

fraud charges. bobby hagner and jessica lawler in santa clara last week. they went to the hotel to serve an arrest warrant on lawler. that's when hagner jumped to a tree. officers arrested them, recovered stolen mail, tax documents and stolen driver's licenses. a fire spread to 4 cars at the lafayette bart station. crews put it out in 20 minutes, but four of the cars were a total loss. a fifth car was damaged. no one was hurt. the cause is not suspicious. the bart extense to san jose reached two major milestones. officials celebrated the final allocation of state funding. the $39 million will pay for
