another bay area protest tonight over the police shooting in ferguson missouri. why these demonstrators are saying there's a culture of inequality. good evening everyone i'm frank somerville. >> and i'm julie haener. another night another protest. this time the march is in san francisco. over 1,000 people on the move from market street to the tenderloin, to union square and to the mission. this is part of the so called day of rage. >> reporter: we're at un plaza where the crowd first gathered but they quickly went on the

move to express outrage and demand change. it started at the united nations plaza shortly after 7:00 tonight. a march peaceful but resolute in its message. >> i feel it's time for our generation to change this. so that our future children don't have to go through these troubles. >> reporter: tonight's event is part of what's called a day of rage. organizers planned similar protests in 27 cities nation wide. all in response to a dadly police shooting of an unarmed teen -- to a deadly police shooting of an unarmed team in ferguson missouri. officers on motorcycle and on foot escorted the marchs as they walked along market street, turned on to jones in the tend tenderloin, and they blocked an intersection briefly

before moving to union square. activists with anonymous organized thise. they point to a culture of inequality. the march attracted the attention of shopkeepers, passers by and tourists. everyone i asked said they knew about the killing of the ferguson teen. >> we are not living here, we're just visiting here. but it's not right. >> reporter: we saw the protesters march to the mission police station on valencia. as far as we could tell, the event remained peaceful. live in san francisco, amber lee, ktvu channel 2 news. the tensions may be easing in ferguson. it was calm there for a second night. earlier today the governor of missouri ordered the withdraw of national guard troops. crowds are getting smaller almost two weeks after the death of 18-year-old michael brown. today a group of protesters

delivered thousands of signatures to the county court. they want the prosecutor looking into the police shooting to step down in large part because several members of his family work for law enforcement. brown's parents say they think officer darren wilson should go to jail. >> he was a teenager. he was growing up. he was only 18. he had a chance to make a mistake and correct it. he had a choice and he chose the wrong one. >> reporter: while there are signs of peace. we're learning the past protests have led to 200 arrests. some of the people arrested are from the bay area. including six people from berkeley and one person from san francisco. most were arrested for refusing to disperse. we're happy to report that we've heard from the center for disease control that the test

result is negative. >> that word came two hours ago. the california department of public health announced the woman in isolation at the kaiser hospital in south sacramento does not have the ebola virus. that means there are no known confirmed ebola cases in california and no cases with high risk exposure. it's one of several developments on the ebola front. the first confirmed ebolafacient treated in the u.s. received the all clear to -- ebola treatment in the u.s. received the all clear to go home. >> reporter: 19 days ago, dr. kent bradley arrived at emory university hospital cloaked in a white hazmat suit. today he embraced the medical team that gave him a fighting chance against the deadly virus. a round of hugs is just what this doctor ordered. >> i'm thrilled to be alive. to be well, and to be reunited

was a low risk. they also say julie and frank that you can even assess yourself. that information is available on the cdc website. >> such great news that those two american mission missionaries are okay. >> he called it a miracle. there's word that williams family scattered his ashes in san jose. it does not list the exact cause of death instead it sites a pending investigation. williams committed suicide august 11 in tiburon. toxicology tests whether likely be available in a few weeks. sheriff deputies are investigateing the death of two men in the normally quiet strawberry neighborhood. both men died from gunshot wounds. the two may have been neighbors. their bodies were found in adjacent backyards off carlota circle and one had a rifle

beside him. as mike mibach reports, this could be a case of murder suicide. >> it sounded like it came from up the hill. >> reporter: deputies, detectives, two homes one investigation all in strawberry. >> we heard a loud banging. >> reporter: an unincorporated area of millvalely. >> reporter: this landscape crew working on carlota circle said what they heard. >> we didn't see any cars peel out. >> reporter: happened at 1:00 p.m. yesterday. >> not really the kind of thing i would expect in millvalely. >> a family had returned home to their house at 154 carlota circle and discovered one of their families down in their backyard. >> reporter: they get a 911 call, dispatchers fire, deputies determine that a 61- year-old man had been shot and killed. >> it's kind of terrifying to think, it's a really nice neighborhood. >> reporter: deputies immediately started sweeping the area and in a neighboring backyard they found a man also

with a gunshot wound who was also pronounced dead. >> we haven't identified anything at this point that would show any cause for any fear by people in the neighborhood. >> reporter: the relationship between the victims is still not known. but one neighbor says the 61- year-old man lived with his wife and son and that the other victim possibly in his 40s was recently staying here at his parent's house. loud music late at night had been coming from that home in recent months according to one man who lives across the street. the motive for the killing still under investigation. >> i only know them in passing. i know there's a one mother and a son up there. but i don't know them personally. >> reporter: one sheriff official says a rifle was found next to one of the victims. authorities are not currently searching for a gunman in this case. mike mibach. a 25-year-old woman cried in court and pled not guilty to a child endangerment in the hit-

and-run death of her niece. the judge set bail at $50,000. gauge is accused of leaving the little girl in the middle of mission street while she went back to the sidewalk to get the girl's twin brother who had fallen behind. that's when the car hit and killed the little girl. the car had the green light and never stopped. >> i don't think it's right to have someone in custody or someone accused of a crime when someone else is outstanding is responsible for it. >> reporter: police describe the hit-and-run car as a light colored mid-1990s lexus, camry or honda with dark rims. three people from the bay area are behind bars tonight for allegedly stealing $6,000 worth of baby formula. sheriff deputies arrested the

trio in auburn. an employee of the bell air store tried to arrest them while they were filling duffel bags with baby formula. baby formula is often used to dilute drugs or sold in the back market. authorities arrested the áf three suspects. a fourth suspect may still be at large. two apartment buildings up in flames. but humans weren't the only ones left homeless. the volunteer is opening up his home and a dog that was displaced by a fire. a journalist beheadeded in a barbaric act of terrorism. >> they're going to continue doing this until we stand up to them. >> next the stadium's barely broken in but the field is already beaten up. the conditions forcing the 49ers to replace the entire

her under my jacket and held her tight. >> reporter: grouper's promise to give a good home to the pup provides a sense of stability for these families. the army is under fire again for failing to give congress a 30 day notice for its swap for captive terrorists for bergdahl who had spent five years as a taliban prisoner of war. a victory for supporters of marriage equality in florida after a federal judge today struck down the state's ban on gay marriage. florida voters approved the ban back in 2008. stating marriage is solely between one man and one woman. in recent months judges in four florida counties had declared that ban unconstitutional. the florida attorney general

year-old gay man. david stevenson tonight shows us the video that could lead to the attacker. >> the video is short, the images are grainy but investigators hope they will solve a mystery. >> we would like to speak to this person and hopefully fine out what happened and why. >> reporter: feather lynn was found brutally beaten in the city's triangle area early august 10. police today released surveillance video taken from a taxi cab dashboard. higgins is blacked out but shows him closely followed by this man moments before the two of them move out of camera's range. >> there's some part of an altercation and that's what we want to talk to this person about. >> he does look familiar. >> reporter: dave jack says the man in the video may be one of several that constantly cause trouble near his church street restaurant just a few feet from where higgins was found. his family removed him from

we're learning new details tonight about a daring attempt to rescue james foley. isis militants killed him this week in syria. dozens of u.s. special forces raided an abandoned oil refinery in syria. that's where intelligence sources indicated foley and others were being held. one u.s. comando was injured in an hour raid.

a large bust involving several locations. 32-year-old timothy douglas chaz was arrested on charges of cultivation and sales. deputies served search warrants at three several locations. they found more than 2,700 pot plants and nearly 650-pound of died marijuana. they also found semi automatic guns, a shotgun and body armour. chez was booked in lieu of $50,000 bail. top democrats announced legislation to give help illegal children crossing the border. governor brown called it the decent thing to do. the legislation claims that the government can expedite the naturalization process. the family of the 18-year- old man who was shot by police are planning to file a lawsuit.

john burres spoke out in behalf of nieto's family. he was killed in march after a confrontation with officers in bernal park. the officers opened fire after nieto pointed a taser at them that looked like a gun said suhr. but burres today questioned the credibility of those officers. >> we never accepted this notion that he pointed the taser at an officer or did anything that created the impression that the officers were in danger. the officer essentially overreacted to the circumstances and shot and killed him. >> reporter: burres says activists plan to march tomorrow where that lawsuit is going to be filed. camela harris says she will appeal a recent ruling that found the penalty unconstitutional. last month a federal judge said delays in carrying out executions are arbitrary and

two men in the east bay say two gunmen fired a couple of shots at them. investigators say it happened just outside the martinez city limits. the alleged gunmen jumped into the backseat of a vehicle on pacheco boulevard. he then pistol whipped the passenger, made both men give up their wallets and ordered them to drive. a few moments later, the driver got out of the vehicle and the suspects sped away. >> we believe the suspects fired a couple of shots at the vehicle fortunately nobody was struck. >> and here's a look now at the damage to that car at least two bullets hit the side and back door. investigators say they are looking for witnesses. four firefighters were injured today after an ice

bucket challenge went terribly wrong. a crew in kentucky was electrocuted after helping a local college man with the popular ice bucket challenge for als. an official says the fire truck's ladder got too close to a fire line. two firefighters were taken to a burn unit and one of them is in critical condition. a third is being kept for observation. the fourth was released from the hospital. >> reporter: new details tonight on last week's kidnapping of two amish girls in up state new york. an investigator says nicole vasey admitted she and her boyfriend steven howels coaxed the seven and 12-year-old sisters into the car by offering to let them pet a dog. the investigators say vesey told them that they shackled the girls and intended to turn them into slaves. however they ended up releasing them moments later after they got scared by all the news reports. the ncaa is fighting back. it plans to appeal a judge's

ruling that it violated anti trust laws. a judge ruled the ncaa violated the laws by restricting schools from paying student athletes for use of their images. the judge said schools should be allowed to place up to $5,000 a year into a trust fund for football and basketball players which they could collect after leaving school. the owners of a lodi movie theater say they have wiped out an infestation of bedbugs. the cinema reopened today. it was closed after two girls said after watching a movie they were covered with bites. small pockets of bedbugs were found and exterminators. but some moviegoers are now scared that they may have unknowingly carried the bedbugs home with them. i don't like feeling like i can't leave the smallest thing in my car and i can't leave anything in my trunk. up next, two investigates reveals the b.a.r.t.

b.a.r.t. police have a new program that's aimed at catching burglars who target cars that are parked in b.a.r.t. parking lots. tonight two investigates find out whether the program is working and which b.a.r.t. stations have the most break- ins. here's ktvu melanie woodrow. >> reporter: for years sandy maloy has been trading traffic for the train. until her calm commute was interrupted by crooks who broke into her parked car four times.

printing training. typically it takes months to return prints from car break- ins since they process prints from violent crimes first. melanie woodrow. new developments tonight on a 2 investigates report we did back in june. that's when we told you about an east bay car dealer accused of turning back odometers on used cars. they own and operate california car sales on auto center drive in antioch. investigators say they have evidence that gub era sold more than 100 vehicles with odometers that were rolled back. >> i've never seen a case this big. this is the most significant one because it does involve a subject with a dealers license. >> when i seen it on the news i was like halleluja finally somebody got him.

somebody finally got him. >> reporter: leticia o'neil is one of 13 people that contacted 2 investigates about the carless. george guv era is behind bars in martinez. here's being held on $1 million bail. the drought is increasing the price of honey. the dry conditions mean fewer flowers and crops which results in less nectar that bees need to make honey. one beekeeper says he's producing 10% of the honey that he does in a good year. >> this would persist, you would see higher food costs, higher pollination fees, and unfortunately higher prices for the commodity of honey. >> the drought is helping to push prices to an all time high of $6.32 per pound. one business in napa that sells honey says they simply don't have enough honey to go around. california is one of the largest honey producers any where in the country.

got the temperatures from today for you. they were nice, especially inland. you had some upper 80s and low 90s. it'll be cooler tomorrow by a couple of degrees. you will see those 90s in livermore. upper 80s, mid-80s. 88 in livermore, and along the coast where the fog has been constant although there have been some breaks today. and it stays that way. take a look as we come in close. san francisco has plenty of fog now. it it is starting to shoot the gaps here but at the san francisco airport the san bruno gap. you will start to see the fog get through here and it's heading toward lafayette and walnut creek. it should not make it all the way into livermore valley or all the way into the antioch area. but we will see fog throughout the bay tomorrow morning. very similar to what we had today. as you move through the bay area microclimates tomorrow in san francisco, mid-60s upper 60s. east bay low 70s. over the hills into lafayette area or into livermore valley. you're starting to see 80s. it leads to the very warmest
