so the on shore breeze for today, and the afternoon, some of these numbers will start with the hot spots, 89 for antioch, 88 in livermore, 74 in oakland, 76 in mountain view, heading to the north bay, beautiful day, upper 70s santa rosa, 79 for you in napa, 79 in the south bay, 87 expected morgan hill. little change into the second half of your weekend. i think we will see an increase in cloud cover. i'll explain why coming up. new this morning, all lanes have reopened on highway 101 in san jose after a frightening crash that sent a woman off the edge of a freeway on ramp. it happened just before 2:00 a.m. near the northbound 680 connector ramp. two cars crashed, woman was ejected from a vehicle. she fell about 60 feet off the ramp and on to the freeway we low where she was then hit by a passing car. the woman was rushed to the hospital and her condition has not been released. we have a picture of the man

that -- ac the cash injured 11 people and nearly missed a baby boy in the living room of the house. we are live from outside the home. ali. >> reporter: the home has been red tagged, meaning it's no longer safe to go into, and the family that lives here had to spend the night in a hotel. you can sigh why it's no longer -- see why it's know longer safe. the board is covering up a gaping hole in the side of this home. richmond police are looking for this man, 24-year-old richard contreras for causing a car crash that sent an ac transit bus into the side of that home around 5:30 yesterday evening. this was the scene last night when a tow truck pulled that ac transit bus out. the crash injured 11 people, including some bus passengers and the driver, and two people who had been in the home at the

time. all were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. richmond police say contreras was driving a stolen red honda, trying to get away from police when he ran a red light, hit the bus, causing the bus driver to lose control, and sending the bus careening into the side of the house. >> it was horrible, you know? i saw the impact, the people on the bus, and i saw a couple of neighbors rushing to the bus to help the injured people. >> there was a child and 3-month-old baby boy in the house stet of the crash. the impact knocked the baby's chair over in the living room, but the children weren't hurt. police arrested a passenger in the stolen honda, a juvenile, but they are still looking for contreras, the driver, of that red honda to ran away from the crash scene. he's described as about 5'11", he fled after the crash, and

producers the are -- concert will include -- the local assistance center will open at 1:00 p.m. at first street and silverado trail. the city and napa county is working together to help. fire crews in mariposa county are battling a wildfire and evacuations in place for hundreds of people there. the bridge fire started yesterday just about 1:00 p.m. ten miles east of mariposa near highway 49. authorities say they ordered evacuations for 700 homes and five businesses in the ponderosa basin area. so far, that fire has burned 300 acres and is 25% contained. yesterday, they used helicopters and the big dc air tanker to

drop down retardant. security breach at california state -- cal state east bay has compromised many. the breach happened a year ago, but wasn't discovered until last month. a malicious soft way tool allowed someone to gain access to names, addresses and social security numbers, but officials say no financial academic or medical information was stolen. the university has notified those affected and is offering them a 12 month membership to a credit monitoring service for free. parenting in the west contra costa school district are notify after students got sick from marijuana laced food sold on campus. the officials say they have a zero tolerance policy for drugs. on thursday, 17-year-old female student was arrested for selling pot laced cookies and brownies. officials say school resource officers had to resuscitate one student, and two others got sick and had to be taken to the hospital. suspect was taken to juvenile

hall. the search is on for three people who assaulted a sheriff's deputy. it happened behind a restaurant. police responded to the call. they say an off duty sheriff's deputy was talking to a restaurant employee when the three suspects approached him. there was some type of argument, and suspected assaulted the deputy. his identity has not been released. he didn't need to go to the hospital. a relative said he suffered injuries to his face. a san rosa heart tis has paint -- artist has painted a mural of the boy that was killed by a police officer. it has gone up at a busy intersection in the -- rose land neighborhood. it is three miles where he was killed. the deputy miss took lopez's bb gun for a rifle. no charges have filed against the deputy. happening today, levi stadium will host the first-ever

causing this crash. >> reporter: as you said, i was going to point out the hole has been boarded up, but next to it, you can receive the path that out of control bus took before it ran into the side of this house. it went through two metal fences, a lot of debris from that is out here, and took out several trees along the way. police say this man caused the crash. they are searching for richard contreras who was behind the wheel of the red stolen honda. he was speeding through the neighborhood when he ran a red light and hit an ac transit bus. it caused the bus driver to lose control and crash into the house. 11 people went to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, including the bus driver and passengers. there was a child and 3-month-old baby in the home at the time of the crash. the impact knocked the baby's chair over in the living room, but the children were not hurt. the home has been red tagged,

check it out. there was an unusual sight on the bridge, you can see the two deer running on the bridge, spotted before 5:30 after they hopped on the bridge. the two deer turned around and got off the bridge, and luckily, no one was hurt. officials with the golden gate bridge say the span and its toll plaza will look different in future years. they are getting rid of several booths to make way for the long awaited moveable median barrier. all booths may eventually be eliminated and replaced with electronic equipment mound over an overage. bridge will be shut down over january 10 and 11 for the installation of the $30 million barrier. thomas five years since high school senior was shot and killed in oakland, and

investigators are still looking for the gunman. desiree davis was celebrating the labor day holiday with friends when a man got out of a car, and started shooting. davis was hit and killed. police say they believe she was an innocent bystander. davis, her sister, and their mother had moved to the bay area from new orleans after losing everything in hurricane katrina. >> we've been through so much, and we -- there's no answers. there's no closure, there's nothing. there's no acceptance. >> davis had just started her senior year at oakland tech high, and was dreaming of becoming a veterinarian. oakland police say the shooting remains unsolved, but they will continue to follow leads and revisit and talk with witnesses. searchers will be out again this morning for a private plane that crashed near jamaica. a new york real estate developer and his wife are blood to be on that -- believed to be on that plane.

hospital. her condition has not been released. a duplex in contra costa county red tagged as an out of control ac transit bus slams into the building and the living room a few feet from that bus a 3-month-old baby. this morning police are on the hunt for a man in a stolen car suspected of causing this crash. allie rasmus joining us live now. you can see that hole is now boarded up. >> reporter: that's right. the damage is still very visible here at this home on 18th and burbank in richmond. those plywood boards have boarded up a gaping hole in the side of this home. in front of it you can see the path the out of control bus took before it crashed into the house. it plowed through two metal fences, took out some trees and further up to the left you can see the family even had a garden out here and the bus went through and destroyed some of the tomatoes in the garden, they are searching for 23-year- old richard contreras. around 5:30 last night he was

speeding through the naked when he ran -- neighborhood when he ran a red light and hit the bus. the impact caused the bus to lose control and crash into the side of the home. 11 people went to the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries including the bus driver and passengers. also there was a child and 3- month-old baby boy in the living room at the time of the crash. the impact knocked the baby's chair over but those children were not hurt. we talked to a neighbor this morning who had a chance to go into the house and take these pictures from inside the leadership. on the left side of the -- inside the living room. on the left side screen you can see where the ceiling is detached from the wall. the building has been red tagged. the family is staying at a hotel. the neighbors say it could have been much worse. >> it's pretty devastating. i mean, obviously somebody on the sidewalk could have easily been killed. >> this is the scene yesterday night when a tow truck plucked the bus out of the side of the house. richmond police have the

passenger who was riding with contreras in custody. they are still looking for contreras. the driver who ran away from the crash scene. he's described as being about 5- foot 11 inches tall, 150 pounds. he does have a criminal history involving the theft of other cars in the past. if anyone has seen him, richmond police would like you to give them a call. live in richmond, allie rasmus ktvu channel 2 news. crews could begin tearing down the novelty store gutted by a massive fire in san francisco's mission district. the demolition should last several days. fire officials say they want to eliminate the hazardous conditions and then try to pinpoint the cause of thursday's fire. the owners of the big house incorporated store looked over the rooms last night. they told us they want to rebuild and restock, but realize agents said they see an opportunity for new developments in the red hot mission district market. >> it's absolutely booming. you'd have to go to the city and find out what they will let you build there. that's where the value lies.

>> many neighboring shops have reopened, this block of mission street between 22nd and 23rd is still blocked off as precaution. last night a ktvu photographer recorded the footage of a group of workers arriving at the store. they were dressed in hazardous material safety outs. they bagged and collect #-d debris and loaded them on to a truck. powerful lights were also brought in presumably for building demolition. fire crews continue to battle a wildfire on the edge of yosemite national park evacuations evacuations are in place for hundreds of people. the bridge fire started yesterday at 1:00 in the afternoon 10 miles east of mariposa near highway 49. authorities say they ordered evacuations for 700 homes and five businesses in the businesses ponderosa basin area. the fire is 20% contained. they used this tanker to drop retardant. there are no reports of injuries and no information

about how the fire start. >> the orinda fire district has added fire positions to help prepare for the peak fire season. the fire district covers 42 square miles in contra costa county, 19 firefighters will now be on duty each day. the district says increasing the staff from 17 to 19 firefighters a day allows them to free up an extra engine to respond to fires. police in san francisco are investigating a deadly shooting in the bay view district. it happened shortly after 9:30 last night on nichols way. the shop spotter system detected the gunfire, and when police arrived they found a man with a gunshot wound to his upper body. he was taken to the hospital where he later tide. a second man also arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound. he expected to survive. no arrests have been made. the search is on for three people who assaulted a santa clara county sheriff's deputy. it happened behind a restaurant. san jose police responded to

the call. an off-duty sheriff's deputy was talking to a restaurant employee when three suspects approached him. there was some type of argument, and then the suspects assaulted the deputy. his identity has not been released, and he did not need to go to the hospital. a relative says the deputy suffered injuries to his face. and we continue our coverage of the napa earthquake. while many shops in the napa valley have reopened, one of the most recognizable businesses remains closed. owners of the uptown tractor- trailer are theater are looking for artists to help restore murals. it could take two months to fix the earthquake damaged ceiling. the executive director says inspectors have deemed the building structurally sound. several big name entertainers scheduled to perform have canceled their shows. two young girls are doing what they can to help four legged victims of the

will open at 1 p.m. at first street and silverado trail. the city and county of napa are working together to offer services such as financial and food assistance as well as help getting building permits and health resources. a security breach at cal state east bay has compromised the personal information of more than 6,000 people. the breach happened more than a year ago but wasn't discovered until last month. officials say a ma palacios software tool allowed someone to gain access to names addresses and social security numbers. no financial, academic or medical information was stolen. the university notified those affected and is offering a 12- month membership to a credit monitoring service for free. levi stadium is going to host its first ever international soccer match. tonight's game between members row and chili a sellout.
