suicide. officers got a 911 call saying there were two shooting victims at a home. officers founds one man dead, the other suffering from gun shot wounds. the 911 caller told police his cousin killed his father and then tried to kill himself. no word yet on the names of the men. grand jury indicted a korean national in the deadly shooting ramp page in oakland. -- rampage in oakland. it is unclear if the 45-year- old will ever stand trial for killing 7 people and trying to kill three others in april of 2012. he remains at the mental health and has been ruled incompetent to stand trial. his next hearing is april 2015, that is when a judge is expected to hear an update. 30 years after six women were murdered investigators

the -- a close up look at the trap. it is sturdy. besides the traps they will be bringing in more, they plan to be here for the second night in a row. it will be euthanized if it is the animal that attacked the child. azenith smith, ktvu channel 2 news. the sheriff's department is looking for the owner of a large snake that was found outside a school last friday. the 7-foot python is now at the humane society. it is somewhat aggressive and doesn't appear to be socialized so they are not sure if it was someone's pet. if no one claims it the humane society hopes to find a new home but they say it may not be suitable for adoption. baltimore ravens running back ray rice who was caught punching his fiance is now off

the team. the ravens terminated his contract and the nfl suspended him today. a warning the video is graphic. it shows him punching her inside a hotel elevator in atlantic city. it happened 70 months ago. tmz released video of rice dragging her out of the elevator. this is the first time video showing -- video is showing him punching her. jim harbaugh was asked about the video. >> when someone that you care about does wrong, you know, faced with the consequences of doing wrong, it is tough. it is hurtful. my pain is for both of them as a couple. >> today san francisco 49ers head coach jim harbaugh said

the video hasn't chanced his stance on san francisco 49ers ray mcdonald he was allowed to play yesterday a week after he was arrested on domestic violence. jim harbaugh and the nfl are allowing ray mcdonald to play while the legal process plays out. a preschool has closed. parents said they had no warning the bridge point academy would be closing. now they are looking for a refund. they just paid tuition for september. >> we found out 24 hours ago. starting going online and seeing what other places have open spots. >> we learned the school missing tax returns and owes more than $80,000. the school had a suspended business status since february. and was not supposed to be operating. teachers knew something was wrong when they couldn't cash

their pay checks. ktvu channel 2 news reached out to the owner for comment and have not heard back. today a former police officer pleaded no contest to felony charges. gregory thompson said nothing as he left court. he now has a felony record for attacking a woman with a baseball bat last month. it happened in front of a vacant home that belongs to gregory thompson's father. >> he went down there because people were breaking into the house. he pond to woman who he believed may be going into his father's house. >> prosecutors say the woman was not a squatter. she was in the area after her car ran out of gas. this afternoon we confirmed gregory thompson retired from the police department friday after 30 years on the job.

he will be sentenced october 10. the district attorney said today it would be transparent even if it was embarrassing after it pulled a attorney from a case because he was having an affair with a technician. he was workingoon cold case from -- working on a cold case prosecuting two brothers for the death of one of their wives. one of the crime lab technicians working on the case was having an affair with him and testified twice. the district attorney said the relationship was unprofessional but it doesn't think it will effect the case. both have been reassigned. one bay area fire department is struggling to deal with a ambulance shortage. >> the situation is not going to be resolved with 16 people. >> how long some patients are waiting and what the department has been doing to cope with the problem. >> after the break i am tracking the fog that is out there and a warm up that is in the forecast.

in the wake of a deadly police shooting in missouri and a trade show in oakland showing military grade equipment, 2 investigates looks into what equipment is in the hands of bay area law enforcement. the controversy is heating up since tanks rolled through ferguson, missouri, that is when we demanded to know what kind of military equipment has been given to law enforcement in the bay area. ktvu's cristina rendon joins us live now. >> reporter: a record of all the military equipment given to

bay area law enforcements. it lists everything from flash lights to grenade launchers. what is not clear is how they are being used by the police. >> reporter: tear gas and armored tanks were a familiar sight in ferguson, missouri. just last friday this group protested the police in downtown oakland. now some are questions the program called the 1033 program where law enforcement agencies receive equipment from the military. according to the list bay area law enforcement agencies are getting tools, rescue equipment, knives and scooters but the majority -- [ indiscernible ] [ shooting ] >> reporter: and tanks are in possession by antioch, napa,

san jose, san francisco and vallejo police. he says the real question is how the equipment is being used. >> where does an armored vehicle become the right tool for the job and when is it inappropriate. >> reporter: the acquisition should be done in a public way, having no accountability could cause suspicion. >> this could encourage civilian police departments to act and think in much more militaristic ways that are contrary -- [ indiscernible ] of all equipment provided only 5% are weapons. >> reporter: over all the program does add value and saves taxpayer money.

cristina rendon, ktvu channel 2 news. two months after ktvu channel 2 news uncovered long response times for ambulances in san francisco -- ambulances in san francisco some are still waiting an hour for help to arrive. ktvu's paul chambers reports how it all came to a head last night when the fire department had to call for help of its own. >> people visiting san francisco have a cause for concern because the wait time for a ambulance is well over an hour. >> this is a real problem in san francisco. a serious public safety issue and so something has to be done bout it. >> reporter: records ktvu channel 2 news obtained show over the last two weeks people waited 1-2 hours to be transported. officials say three calls in question came in code 3 emergencies but were down graded. they aim to respond in 20 minutes. although it took a long time

respond the patient's care was never in jeopardy. >> within three minutes crews are on the scene. so they are getting medical treatment. >> that treatment is keeping firefighters at a scene when they may be need elsewhere. two years ago they asked for $10 million for new ambulances and extra staffing. they gave them $3 million but that wasn't enough. >> we were able to hire 16 additional employees and purchase three additional ambulances. >> reporter: they added four new ambulances, with 10 more on the way. still that will not put a dent in the response times because 12-14 are replacing an fleet. >> expected to be here by the end of the year but money was provided in 2012 and it is now
