tell you what, never too early to start looking at the standings, and the nightcap of the monday night opening double header impacts both the raiders and 49ers. came down to this. carson palmer, a little flip to john brown. finds his way 13 yards, cardinal comeback. the cardinals do win it, 18-17 by the skin of their teeth in the monday night opener. the new york giants plead no contest. it would be nice to have that kind of facility in oakland.

the lions roll. matt stafford flinging it up top to megatron. calvin johnson as he is also known. romp it in. the lions route the giants 35- 14. you may have noticed how many outstanding contributions the 49ers get from the players selected in the draft this spring, but the 2012 draft, not so much. la michael james, their second round pick from that class released today at his own request. his roster spot filled by special teams ace algood. james could never really find his niche in the 49ers offense. that's pretty much it. but i wouldn't be surprised if la michael james winds up with the eagles, and chip kelly, his former coach at oregon, who the niners play in a few weeks down the road. thank you for joining us tonight.

that is so freaking funny. [ laughing ] i know, right? what? dad just wrote another classic one. tell her. oh! i don't know about "classic," but here we go. "if you're looking for a two-story house, i'm your man. "i'll tell you one story before you buy it and then another story after." luke: no, you didn't! [ both laugh ] tonight is the s.c.a.r.b. the southern california annual realtor's banquet. i think they know what it is. mm-hmm. it's the mother of all residential-real-estate banquets. now, for the last five years, gil thorpe has hosted, but as luck would have it, he's having a sketchy-looking polyp removed, so they've asked me to..."phil in."
