the marks on the child's legs. his attorney said he cooperated fully with authorities. more from jane katsuyama, she's live in concord and she's been asking parents at a high school football there about the line that separates punishment from child abuse. >> reporter: tonight many of the parents here at the game say they already heard about the charge, and it has many people thinking about where the law should draw the line. the six-time pro bowl player reportedly texted the boys mother saying he felt bad about some of the marks he left on the boys leg. he reportedly used a switch. after the boy returned to minnesota, the mother took him to the doctor. the boy said his father put

california police cars have a fixed red light that faces forward, and if you meet an officer not up front about who he is or why he's stopping you if you're an adult, drive directly to a police station, if you're a kid call your parents and get somewhere safe. a wildfire burning out of control in southern california. the fire started about 11:00 this morning, and is burning in orange county. mandatory evacuations have been ordered. it's burned 1600 acres with no containment, and it's threatening homes. the cause is being investigated. the search is underway for a navy pilot after two fighter jets collided. the two hornets collided off wake island west of hawaii. one pilot was found, but the second is missing.

dna confirm the mountain lion killed tuesday it was same one that attacked a boy last weekend. the department of fish and wild life said a lab matched dna from a sample on the boy's shirt. the test also confirmed it didn't have rabies. it was shot and killed three days after the attack, the boy is still recovering. this comes as a enabled in -- neighborhood in san carlos

the nfl players union today agreed to changes in drug testing policy, and allowed the first testing for human growth hormone. know the players association has okayed a blood test. the drug policy also raises the threshold for marijuana by adding steps before players are suspended after testing positive. the 49ers new stadium will be in the national spotlight this coming sunday, they host their first regular season game there, and those with tickets can expect quite a show. >> reporter: here's your first look. this is the video the 49ers will walk out to as their first
