driver picked anthony up in west oakland and pulled him out of class an hour early. >> watch this shot. dropping anthony off at his house unattended. jones didn't know until a neighbor messaged her. >> i got a text message "i have your son." >> who was that from? >> that was from a neighbor. >> we realize there's been bumps in the road. >> the district changed bus vendors and contracted with cabs because there weren't enough drivers and the old driver didn't stare student information. >> some drivers not accustomed to transporting students with special needs were put in the role and didn't handle it well. an e-mail said it unacceptable

confused about the schedule. some evacuations are lifted as the firefighters battle that massive and fast moving king wildfire. 18,000-acres have burned inel door ato -- el dorado county. mike is in the area and has the latest on the battle to surround the flames. >> flames meet choppers and planes. >> this is the battle to tame the king fire. >> it's amazing, it's really sad too. >> five days in, 5% contained. 20,000-acres torched and 1600 homes threatened. it has sparked evacuations. >> nasty, nasty. out of control. flaring up in the afternoon because of the wind, you see

big time flames. a full day of air attacks pounded the king fire. steep canyons, gusty winds and flames blowing in three directions. >> it's driven by wind and topography. it the number 1 priority in our state right now, we're getting all available resources on it, a really strong response. >> once again, mike was reporting from el dorado county. 25 hub fire personel are fighting that fire, that includes some firefighters from all over the bay area, highway 50 was closed but is open, a good sign that firefighters are hopefully winning the battle. at this hour some san francisco firefighters are arriving on the frontlines. a strike team left this morning and met with other bay area

firefighters before heading to placerville. bay area firefighters have been deployed to help fight the wildfires. >> fire -- firefighters in syskiyou county are fighting the fire around weed. it has burned 400-acres. 150 structures including a hundred homes have been destroyed. a couple whose home burned to the ground. they found a note from firefighters in the mailbox. >> i grabbed the note and it said that so sorry about your house, we couldn't save it. >> that was the first time i cried. it was special they cared enough to do that. >> about a thousand firefighters are working on the boles fire. it is 25% contained. bill martin is tracking the changes conditions that could help in the firefighter.

a video slide show with pictures of how massive the flames are. a san jose mother pleaded not guilty to felony child endangerment after leaving her children in a car while she went into a casino. she was arrested june 30th at the resort and casino. a sheriff deputy found her 10- year-old daughter and 1-year- old son alone in the car. the mother said she was only in the casino for a few minutes. police are asking the public to look at a new police sketch of a man who's armed and dangerous. a man resembles this sketch shot and wounded a pedestrian following an argument on august 31st. asian, in his 20s who speaks english without an accent. it happened at golden gate

avenue and broderick street. the driver almost hit the pedestrian triggering a verbal altercation and gunfire. a neighbor saw the whole thing. >> i was looking out the window and saw the guy laying on the ground. >> the victim and the suspect got in a verbal altercation. the suspect drove away a short distance and began shooting. the gunman was driving a newer two door dark silver honda civic or accord. and may have been wearing a ball cap turned backward that may have been red in color. looters in mexico have targeted local shops and many areas were leveled by the storm. aid is being brought in while thousands wait to leave. a group of coworkers from the bay area are some of those

everyone to the front of the room. he was targeting the schools director who no longer worked there. and people seven people were killed in that mass school shooting, they were 21 to 53- year-old. one victim was a single mother studying to be a nurse. another was a janitor at the school. health care workers at the laclint can de la rosa staged a protest today. workers say staffing levels are low despite a increasing patient level. the issue is bad in the medical records and registration and the quality of patient service is suffering. >> when a patient comes to register the wait is horrendous. they have to wait two or three weeks or more.

>> workers are willing to sit down with management to resolve the issue. management says cautiously we are posting new positions and move toward an undated care model. west nile virus activity is the strong it's been in california. 311 californians have contracted the virus. that's double of last year. 12 people have died. the number of infected mosquito has reached a record high. the extreme heat and the drought are playing a big role in the record season. >> you would think we would have fewer mosquito and less west nile virus activity. when there's less standing water they come into closer proximity. >> the best protection is to wear insect repellent and get rid of standing water.

we're talking about the fires all over northern california, look at the king fire earlier today. the clouds, it's different than the kind we get when we get rain. this cloud you can see a hundred miles away, you can see it's going to 25,000 feet in the air. big cloud, the air will change a lot as we head into the weekend. the smoke will be lingering, let's talk about the morning commute. we'll get showers in there, wet weather for the morning commute on thursday, maybe .2, that's significant, it has not rained in a while, the roads will be slick. here is the radar imagery, it is picking up the particulate and showing it as rain. it's not. it's the wood chunks that are lifted into the air. when you can see fair from

radar that's significant of the these are big fires. this is the driest year in california. we're seeing the results of that. the great thing as the system moves in, it will provide relief for northern california. we're seeing showers and rain around yreka. a lot of moisture moving into weaverville. getting close to weed. in six hours humidity will triple and temperature plummeting. for us we'll see sprinkles. the big impact for us will be the morning commute. it won't do much to change our drought concerns, it will be enough to slow the morning commute. it drops in here tomorrow morning, late, 2:00, 3:00 in the mornings pushes through by 8:00 a.m., light rain and

today they lose 16-2. meanwhile, colin kaepernick said he did not say anything that warranted a fine in sunday night's loss to the bears. the nfl fined him for $11,000 after this interception supposedly kaepernick as he was coming off the field uttered a slur that got him a penalty, and the fine, colin paper nick -- kaepernick said this. >> i didn't say anything, lamar huston said i didn't say anything. we're going to leave it at that. the player that i supposedly said something to has been quoted saying i didn't say anything. i don't know him. not like he would have a reason
