good afternoon. a nice day around the bay area as our cooling trend intensifies giving you a live look outside the doors. a mix of partly cloudy skies to mostly sunny. fog still hugging up against the coastline. i think we'll be partly to mostly cloudy along the coastline for today. in addition to mid and high level clouds, you can see them here on the satellite view. we've got some here right off the coastline. meanwhile right along the coastline, plenty of gray at this hour. temperatures continue to fall. it has to do with the weakening of the ridge of high pressure that is still over the bay area. you can see well into areas like oregon and washington but it's being pushed along by this trough here on the back side. so this is what is leading to our bit of a cooldown especially inland for today. along the coast, we had it happen a couple of days ago. around the bay, we've seen
12:20 pm
gradual improving. inland it's remained hot. your day is today. i'm seeing anywhere from 4 to 8 degrees of cooling. in addition that trough i showed you a moment ago to the north of us, helping to drag in some of this moisture from simon. those mid and high level clouds have to do with that. that's where they are coming from on your tuesday. so coastal fog will remain. partly cloudy skies elsewhere. temperatures continuing to fall for today. we've got 60s along the coast. a few low 90s for some of the hotter spots. the rest of us will be in the 70s and 80s. that's what we have outside our door. 69 degrees in napa. 69 in santa rosa. santa rosa 8 degrees cooler at this hour than your lunch hour yesterday. concord at 74. that's 8 degrees cooler than yesterday. and livermore 82. you have dropped 4 degrees since this time yesterday. 62 san francisco. 64 redwood city, and low 70s in san jose. for the afternoon today, upper 80s expected for parts of the north bay to the east bay.
12:21 pm
78 for oakland. 89 in danville. into the santa clara valley, we have a warm one, 86 san jose. 87 santa clara. but definitely more comfortable than where we were a few days ago. 8 redwood city, 71 in san francisco. so a little cool for the game this evening bring along a jacket. if by chance you are going to see the giants' play, the extended forecast here, temperatures continuing to fall as we get into wednesday coolest day looks to be thursday. we don't budge a whole lot for the last business day of the week. as we get into your bay area weekend, temperatures will rebound back into the mid- to upper 80s for our inland cities. sounds good. thank you. coming up a live update from the scene of that serious car crash we mentioned earlier in san francisco. first it was complaints about bending phones now it appears the apple iphones are getting tangled up in another problem. insurance companies are spending millions of dollars

trying to mislead you about the effects of proposition 46. well here's the truth: 46 will save lives. it will save money too. i'm bob pack, and i'm fighting for prop 46 because i lost my two children to preventable medical errors and i don't want anyone else to lose theirs. the three provisions in 46 will reduce medical errors and protect patients. save money and save lives. yes on 46.

back to our breaking news out of san francisco where emergency crews are at the scene of a big crash. we've gotten some new information. we first believe the injured in the crash at fulton and webster in san francisco were pedestrians, but we've learned now the two people hurt were in the cars involved. ktvu's david stevenson is on the scene. he joins us now by phone. so david, what else have you learned about the situation there? >> reporter: well, tori, the location is la bu na and fulton. the -- laguna and fulton.
12:25 pm
there were originally reports that one of the driskers was ejected. that's not the case. the collision seems to involve a red toyota corolla and a camry with an uber sign in the window. police are arriving on the scene. they are still investigating talking to witnesses. but apparently the two cars collided. i saw the female driver of the red corolla laid out in the stretcher wrapped up in blanket and a neck brace as firefighters brought her to the ambulance. a very confusing scene. both victims have taken from the scene. there were reports a pedestrian was hit. that does not appear to be the case. police are on the scene talking to other vehicles to find out if they saw what happened here. at this point, the injured have
12:26 pm
been taken away. traffic is routed down laguna street and traffic in fulton is blocked off as police takes picture, talk to witnesses and try to get a sense of what happened here just under an hour ago. they are trying to make sure none of the leaking fuel from the vehicles gets into the sewers. still a very active scene right here. but we do know two people were injured. the drivers i'm told that their injuries are moderate to -- moderate injuries, moderate to medium injuries that is and they have been transported to the hospital. >> okay. live for us at the scene of the accident more on twitter and facebook at ktvu. meanwhile, investors are concerned the global economy is slowing. that sent u.s. stocks sliding. taking a look at the big board, the dow is count 228. the nasdaq is down 61 and the s&p down 25. first, there were complaints the iphone 6 and iphone 6 plus were bending.
