investigators about the big rig crash that killed a motorcyclist yesterday. we know investigators found a person they believe be the driver. good evening. i am ken wayne. >> and i am julie haener. new developments in the investigation of the deadly crash. ktvu's noelle walker is live in hayward where she learned vealingers found the big rig -- investigators found the big rig. >> reporter: those photos helped the chp identify the trucking company and then identify the driver of the truck they believe collided with the motorcycle. they spoke to the driverb and told us -- driver and told us the driver knew something happened but it is unclear whether or not he knew he hit anyone or whether or not he knew and kept going. >> we are trying to determine if this was a hit and run or a possible misunderstanding. >> reporter: chp investigators want you to look at the photos

of the big rig. it is a white cap with red trim. the second photo shows it has two chrome colored tanks. it was in the eastbound lanes on mission boulevard west of warm springs road when the motorcycle and the truck came in contact causing the motorcyclist's death. investigators want anyone who witnessed the crash to call chp. >> it is important because if they do remember seeing the vehicle in the area it may jog some memories and may bring forward new facts. >> reporter: here is another look at the photos. investigators don't know which of the vehicles hit the other. in other words who is responsible for the accident. they are still doing interviews, talking to the driver and trying to piece together a time line and figure out whether or not a crime was committed. noelle walker, ktvu channel 2

news. we are learning new information on the wildfire at yosemite national park that led to the death of a cal fire pilot from san jose. this afternoon officials said the dog rock fire was started by sparks from a passing vehicle. the 245-acre fire is burning on highway 140. the highway remains closed near the entrance to the park. yosemite national park is open and operating normally. and people who live in the community have been allowed to return to their homes. the fire is 10% contained. flags are flying at half- staff for the tanker pilot who died. the governor said they were saddened to learn of the death of geoffrey hunt. he was killed tuesday when his plane crashed into a canyon. theinateser problem is -- the national transportation safety board is leading the investigation. the weather was clear and winds were calm at the time of the accident. calcal fires air tankers remain

grounded as they look into mechanical problems. wildfire continues to threaten a thousand homes in the foothills it is burning near applegate. the fire has destroyed 5 homes. it started yesterday afternoon and burned 420 aches. evacuation orders are in effect in the area. the fire is burning in steam terrain. the location and the windy weather conditions are giving firefighter as tough time. they are concerned the flames could jump across the american river canyon in the direction of more homes. >> homes therein. the resources, that is a huge water shed area. that is water people use. there is other things we have to protect. >> the fire is 20% contained and investigators are trying to determine a cause. new at 6:00 p.m. the family of a man shot and killed by san francisco police

in 2006 lost their federal lawsuit. the family accused officers of illegally entry. police entered an apartment and shot and killed the 25-year-old as he was hiding. officers said they thought he had a gun but it was an eye glass case. the lawyers say they determined police acted reasonably. a gang leader convicted in  the deadly shooting of three people at a tattoo party was sentenced to three life terms today. he was convicted of a 2011 execution style killing that left three dead. one was in high school. prosecutors say he encouraged three others to open fire on him for his gang affiliation. one provided testimony for a plea deal and another sentence was to three life terms. it has been a year since a

drunk driving accident claimed the life of a 17-year-old boy, now prosecutors are holding someone responsible. ktvu's patti lee joins us live where a 42-year-old mom was charged today with manslaughter. >> reporter: it is a felony that could lead to jail time. police tell me 42-year-old tabassum yousuf provided the alcohol at a house party thrown by her son, a decision that led to a series of consequences. >> reporter: jason park was a fun loving 17-year-old. killed after his friend crashed into tree. >> kids will do what they do. but if you are going to contribute to this, it is wrong. >> jason park's mother admits her son and his friend should have known better but she can't believe a grown up, a mother provided it. >> i feel sorry for her because this is going to change her

life and her family' life just like my family and my life has changed. >> reporter: 42-year-old tabassum yousuf posted $40,000 bail after she was arrested for manslaughter and contributing to the delinquency of minors. >> it helps. but for parents, for me, my husband, it doesn't bring my son back. >> reporter: i asked why it took a year to finish the investigation and police admit they took their time because it is a problem that effects so many in the community and they say adults who enable underage drinking have to be held accountable. patti lee, ktvu channel 2 news. the district attorney tells us it dropped a sexual assault case involving a former player for the 49ers. a charge of attempted rape was made against cj spillman.

it came from a bay area massage therapist. the district attorney says there was insufficient evidence. he now plays for the cowboys and police in texas are investigating another sexual assault claim. claim. golden gate bridge distribute workers called for another one day strike and it will be the most distributive to commuters. bus drivers are planning to walk off the job on friday, october 17. the last strike was september 26. the first strike involving machinists occurred september 16. ktvu's tom vacar is live in san francisco with more on the labor dispute. >> the strike will be felt here but the strike is an arrow aimed at the heart of the north bay commute. >> reporter: healthcare insurance, workers say they are forced into a plan that costs the district less but could

cost them $12,000 a year in deductibles. >> people who work hard every day are already worried about money, wages, we cannot ask them again to worry about take aways with healthcare. >> reporter: on october 17 buses will be idled. >> we chose friday, it a low commute day. our goal is to send a message we deserve quality healthcare. >> the strike will be inconvenient but unfair to customers. the district contacted mediation services to request help. and we have also asked the union to join us in that mediation. >> the unions say they mean business. >> this is getting more and more serious. more and more commuters are getting impacted. after the strike every single union would have honored the

on campus. ktvu's rob roth is live in antioch. >> reporter: the school superintendent says it is only small handful of students who are causing the trouble. but it is enough for teachers and parents to raise concerns about safety in the schools. >> reporter: parents tell us the fighting is happening even in the middle schools. >> i am scared. sometimes i have, you know, like in my gut i don't want to drop my kid off. 134 teachers are com-- >> reporter: some teachers are complaining about students bad behavior. >> we have had a few teachers that left because of safety concerns. >> reporter: she teaches high school and is also vice president of the teachers uni. >> students are cursing at teachers. there are fights in classrooms and teachers are trying to prevent those fights from happening and are getting
