>> and bill martin is in the weather center with the rain that is headed our way. >> i suspect we will have green on the radar showing up north of san francisco. it's going to impact the morning commute. it hasn 't rained in a while so these light showers are going to fall just up to .1 of an inch. that's not much right. but it's going to make the roads real slick around here. it's going to be wet for that morning commute. here's the current radar satellite imagine. and it's a nice looking weather system. it really is. i mean if this was, i don't want to say this but if this thing was three weeks later it would probably be delivering quite a punch. it has all the dynamics but those dynamics are staying north of our area. north of point arena here. that's where the real rain coming down. everything south .1, .25 of an inch. it helps the fire danger but it is not going to help the rain event for us but it will slow down the commute. i've had results of drizzle at the coast. results of drizzle in san francisco right along the coastline here on the great highway and up around stinson beach. what we're looking for in terms

of rainfall accumulation it's light. just .3 in san francisco. this is a computer models estimate. i think we can see more than that. but not a lot more. the story here though is morning commute wet and major pattern shift. so when i come back we'll detail all that and we'll time out that morning commute. because it will be a slow one i can tell you that. this is the time of year when the swells grow and storm systems line up in the pacific ocean. that can make for very dangerous conditions along the coast. you will recall a father and son were killed after getting caught in the waves just last month. just this weekend a fisherman was swept out to sea at rodeo beach. noelle walker live in san francisco where she spoke to the family of 61-year-old jimmy choo today, noelle. >> reporter: we're on geary, chances are jimmy choo has been your driver. his family told us he had three loves, work, family and fishing.

they can't believe he died doing what he loved and they hope others will be more aware of dangerous ocean conditions. >> everything that he does is for the family. >> reporter: life is a stitched patch work of moments. >> it's the one thing that he really loved to do. >> reporter: some make us smile. others-- >> i didn't know what to do. >> reporter: make us catch our breath. >> i wished he was still here. he's still too young. >> reporter: 61-year-old jimmy choo died sunday. swept away by a rogue sneaker wave from the rock where he was fishing at rodeo beach. he left a wife, three daughters and a son gary. >> i can tell he really enjoyed fishing. >> reporter: who bonded with his father over fishing. >> and you know he would just jump for joy when he sees that pole move. >> reporter: fishing wasn't always a hobby. years before choo moved to san francisco's china town district in 1976 it was a necessity to put food on the table for his

family in communist china. in those days the fish tales did not come with a smile. >> he swore he would never fish again. >> reporter: in the states, choo kept working to feed his family. 31 years driving a bus for munni the business 38 was his route. this year choo was among safety award winners, living his american dream. >> i think he values what he had. and i think that contributed a lot to you know how he was as a person. >> now is a time for him to enjoy. he worked too hard his entire life to support the family. >> reporter: it's hard to talk about someone in the past tense when he was still planning a future. >> if there's something you would want to say to them, you should say it, don't let it be too late. >> reporter: the family is planning a private funeral on sunday. his son told me he doesn't think his dad even knew what

>> reporter: the roar of the crowd, that torture we never want to end. >> reporter: we heard a lot of giant fans as they were walking out of here talking about just how much fun this was. certainly it's about the win but it's also about enjoying the ride. claudine wong. >> a lot of giant fans usually stick around after the game hoping to get lucky and see a player or two. did they get that chance after the game? >> a lot of them did. we were standing right here this is where all the players leave. all the fans who have been here before know they stand along here and the players will wave. one fan actually walked by me and said she actually got an photograph. they were very, very happy to be able to just cheer them on one more time. >> how about that. autographs always nice. the giants game only one of three major events creating a real crush of traffic in and out of san francisco.

there's the sales force convention going on at masconi center. also a vip bruno mars concert at the grand civic auditorium. this is a live picture here. you can see the bay bridge there in the background. and actually, the lower deck looks pretty good right now but often times it's the approach to the bridge where the back up is once you get on the bridge the traffic tends to be okay. now, here is a look at interstate 80 through berkeley. those lanes on the right heading up toward albany. richmond. the richmond san rafael bridge. that looks pretty typical for an evening commute. pretty heavy in the other direction as well. and coming up mark ibanez will have the highlights. a massive marijuana bust in a quiet east bay neighborhood and neighbors say they didn't

suspect a thing. ktvu's allie rasmus live in san ramon where a million dollars of marijuana was found inside a home there. allie. >> reporter: police raided this home last night. you can see signs of that police activity. the front door was busted open. there's now a plywood door where the front door used to be. there's also a red tag. according to the inspector someone reworked the electric system in order to grow the plants and this home is no longer safe to live in. >> reporter: only the stems remain in the home. a ventilation sneaked through every room of the home to filter out the marijuana smell. >> they did a good job because i didn't smell anything. >> reporter: georgina moved in

next door in july. when she got home. >> my electricity went off. >> reporter: somebody had wired the power to the home around the meter to steal the electricity. >> probably taking $200 to $300 a day in electricity. >> reporter: officers saw two men pull up in a van trying to enter the home. they were arrested for marijuana cultivation, conspiracy and stealing electricity. as police removed hundreds of plants from this house. >> it seemed like a lot. smelled like a lot. >> reporter: neighbors gathered to watch in disbelief. >> probably the only good that came of this is we got to meet all our neighbors. >> reporter: the two men arrested were 25 and 35 years and police say as far as they know they have no prior criminal history. allie rasmusen. and new details on a woman who knocked down an elderly

woman. the woman responsible for injurying the 85-year-old woman has now been arrested. they say they received a tip after this surveillance video was released. police found the woman in civic park early saturday she is identified as 58-year-old carol freeman of san francisco. that attack happened on september 23rd and seriously injured that 85-year-old woman. authorities seized thousands of guns in the east bay. the larger criminal operation police believe is linked to these firearms. >> a four year university isn't for everyone. the new options being offered to bay area students seeking a bright future but who need to take another path to get there. and ktvu viewers are waving the rally rag on twitter. how cute is that. using the hash tag giants 2 win. >> i love the eyes. >> so cute. and callie who uses the

rescuers say it was an iphone app that helped them find a woman who's car had fallen down an enbankment. melissa vasquez had hoisted into a ravine yesterday afternoon. on-star navigate alerted them to the crash but pointed them in the wrong direction. however they eventually used her find my iphone app to

pinpoint her location. >> we all just want her to be okay. and we're just here to support her mom and we're here to support our family together right now. that's all we have to say right now. >> vasquez is in intensive care at regional center in san jose. the cause of the crash is still under investigation but the chp does not believe alcohol or drugs played a role. contra costa county sheriff's officials say a month long investigation resulted in the arrest of a gun trafficking suspect. they also confiscated more than 70 weapons. the sheriff's department today tweeted this photo. officials say last week a search warrant was carried out at a home in pacheco where they discovered assault rifles, shotguns and other weapons as well as hundreds of rounds of ammunition. officers arrested 26-year-old alex conley of oakland. he faces charges for being a

felon in possession of firearms. the american airlines plane forced to make an emergency landing at sfo yesterday will be flown to oklahoma for repairs. passengers recorded video as the inside of that cabin began pulling apart at the seams. we all know it was all because of a broken air duct. that frightened passengers and prompted the pilots to turn the plane around. passengers were put up on hotels and put on flights to dallas today. new at 6:00, a new lesson tonight for bay area students who want a good future. from berkeley the message is junior college could be the way to go for a lot of different reasons. the city and its schools including city college unveiled a new program that can guarantee a path way to a four year university all while providing students other avenues into the work force. john sasaki tells us that young folks are pretty excited by the

possibilities. >> berkeley city college officers students all kinds of options including four year universities and beyond. >> i think junior college is one of the most important universities we have in the system. i will be working on as a researcher in the united nations environmental program. and i hope to eventually work with un women. >> reporter: sulton was on hand as the school district unveiled a new program that can guarantee successful students admittance into the college and then into the california state university system. >> that means we're going to be able to offer students an affordable way to get a college degree. >> but a four year university isn't for everybody. school officials here tell us that 43% of the population here graduates with a degree then immediately heads out into the work force. >> we have an incredible multi media program where the students work with pixar and many of the local industries in

local media. we have american sign language where they can do translating. >> reporter: as well as programs in biotechnology and health and human services. the students in this high school english class are planning their futures some including time at city berkeley college before hitting the work force. >> i don't see a four year college. i don't want to have a lot of debt. >> reporter: ambassadors will be visiting high schools to sell them on the importance of an education. in berkeley, i'm john sasaki, ktvu news. dark clouds move into the bay area today and they've bringing rain to northern california. let's go to bill where he's tracking the changing conditions for us today, bill. >> we have some showers out there. well light sprinkles showing up right now in the marin county area up around sonoma county. it's drizzle right now. it's beginning to show up. you can see as you look behind

the clouds the rain starting to slow up around the eureka area. that's where the heaviest dynamics are. good news around lake shasta. they will get a little bit in that reservoir. maybe a couple of inches. for now it's all cloudy. we will take a look at the radar as it slides in. we've had this train of showers right in here for the last hour or so. and sort of looks as we move into the next hour or so. this will move into the southern san jose area out toward evergreen as well. it's real light. this is sort of precursor to what will show up late tonight early tomorrow morning. notice how mild it is. it's kind of a warm weather system. typically warm storms deliver us a lot of rain. but we're far enough south on these dynamics the main dynamics that we're just going to see a few light showers. the winds have been blowing though. they're down a bit. fairfield was gusting to 75 earlier. they're down to gusts to 21. oakland gusting at 22. so you probably noticed the

gusty winds. so here's the forecast for 7:00, 8:00 a.m. in the morning, it's not well organized not like a typical winter storm. we're going to see widely scattered showers i have like i said reports of drizzle showing up along the coast at stinson beach. up by montero. just real light stuff. that will be how the morning goes. even when it starts to rain it'll just be real light intermittent wipers as you drive into work. most likely the roads will be slick. we get a break as we head into wednesday afternoon. clears out, doesn't clear out but dries out quickly. thursday dry but clouds. and friday look what happens. we get into it again. a progressive weather pattern. fire danger is off the table right now which is great. fire air quality is much better because the winds are howling and temperatures will be way down tomorrow from where they

doesn't like it. the bunt, joe former giant himself. lefty throws it down the right field line. past wong and there you go. brandon crawford easily scoring what turns out to be the game winning run. kind of a bizarre walk off but they'll take it. the giants find themselves up on the series 2-1. our own scott reiss drew the long straw and got to check out the activity. >> reporter: a strange script for success. the giants score four in the first from innings two through nine they had one hit total and it was by tim hudson of all people. but in the tenth a walk, a single, and error, somehow they find a way to win. >> we have a really strong belief in ourselves. we really believe we're going to win these games no matter what. maybe we're not the best offensively team, defensive bring team but we know that if we play real hard every single
